Tip for calvus, you're basically never going to land your blasts unless he's standing still and charging a move so I recommend lowering your blast size and blast explosion size to the lowest so you can deal the most damage

There’s no private servers because release had 5 player server size for 3 days so you could grind the story. You started the story like the day server size got raised or like a day before or after. Also, Calvus isn’t that difficult you just have to hit him like twice to stop his charge and almost all his attacks are blockable, especially with a shield. He’s just hard to hit because of his mobility but you can just hit him a lot while he’s charging and you’re good. Also, it would be easier if you had recovery meals and just better gear cuz you had really low health for your level. I’m not trynna be mean I swear, I’m just pointing out what makes it easier for other people as well. I did it with warlord at around the same level and it wasn’t too bad when you know what to do.

infer's issue is he doesn't know how to play patiently and wait for punishable attacks

me watching him struggle against the boss i struggled against like a week ago brings a smile to my face

here's a tip: everytime he does the one shot move, you need to hit him multiple times in his wind up phase to heavily reduce the damage of the attack (I think 150 at most), another thing is to have to be patient with this boss fight, thats all I can say though

The pvp can actually get pretty fun once you learn it, it’s pretty much mostly about predicting where people will be when and how to avoid people reading you, and everybody has similar enough tools so it’s (most of the time) an even match, and the build diversity in the game is crazy Tldr: you don’t need m1s and stun combat to make a game’s combat skill based

Bro stop blaming the combat and actually learn how to play the game, you keep m1ing even though that's obviously not how you should be fighting, it's a movement hit and run type combat that's reliant on skills.

This boss is ez to farm when you understand the mechanism of his attacks, for real.

i doubt you're still playing this but if you are, please use the T jump more while in combat (both pve and pvp) it is a godsent blessing for dodging so much stuff specially calvus stuff

I think there might actually be a way to glitch this boss. It happened around the first time i fought him while doing the story, when king calvus just for some reason stopped moving entirely and was free to kill. I think it was because he glitched into the ground cause he literally wouldn't budge so I just took advantage of the situation and killed him.

Big tip for people who have trouble fighting this boss have a party with two people (counting yourself) and take turns fighting him and one of you die the other goes in and hit him and repeat that’s how me and my brother fought him and we won easily it works on every boss so yeah hopefully this tip save you

Since you don't wanna adapt to AO's combat style and keep m1'ing, I suggest thermo fist or cannon fist as your fighting styles. Thermo fist lets you throw out 5 m1's per second at max heat, and cannon fist lets you rapidly throw cannon balls for m1's.

ngl I dont understand how people are hating on arcane odyssey like its everything I wanted deepwoken to be good story and fun ocean shenanigans and I think the combat is fun def not as fun as deepwokens combat but I still think it beats it out in pretty much every other department except like graphics I guess

Tbh king calvus boss is fun, you just gotta learn how to parry the 500 dmg move

The fact that the arena brakes, you can't dash in the air, and the block/parry is G makes the boss fights 10x harder

Tbh, I love the concept of the game, open world, story quests, and especially the fact u can imbue ur magic onto ur weapon, really feels like ur the mc of an anime but the combat, and the looks are not too great in my opinion. Edit: This is all my opinion btw, and I do play on low graphics because sometimes the waves make me lag idk why, so that could be why I dont like the looks too much.

Something I did is just fight him with someone else, and if you die, just hope that your friend stays alive so the boss doesn’t heal.

The combat is clean. You just need to learn how it works. For example the hitboxes changes because of the build you or your enemys are using. You can see it on the shockwaves that Enemy sent when click melee. Etc. etc.

The last boss is probably the most fun once you understand his moveset! He has two skills that he can charge up early, then hold until he wants to release them while doing other attacks, you can see them by the orbs on his back in the first phase, or the swords in the second phase. Aside from that, the main thing is to PARRY the big aoe ball that he shoots, and to dash away from the barrage of balls he can send your way. The one shot skill can be canceled, but it’s hitbox is also completely grounded. If you get into the air, hit him, then charge up another skill, you won’t take any damage, an “air stall” so to speak.

Argos is extremely easy to farm if you have any sort of range and decent damage, I recommend warlord because not only does it have high long range damage with weapon skills but also Argos drops 2 strength weapons

Here is a tip charge you energy bar fully and do m1 with a weapon a lot of the times if you just keep holding m1 you don't lose energy (so you shouldn't use moves) (also you are only using the normal shot on your guns use your multi shot ability of your gun)

Calvus is just straight up not worth doing the first time without a team of other people, once you reach current max level and do some other story stuff you can come back and bully him solo.

When it uses one shot skill you need to hit the boss once it will also hit the one shot skill so you have to press Q right away to dodge the one shot skill

To stop the one shot u have to hit calvus, I suggest gettin a max level friend to help with calvus

He really is not very bright. Man had seen that m1 ing in the air actually punishes him and he keeps doing it, he knows that he can use multiple weapons but he only spams m1s with a single weapon. Im pretty sure he would use m1s in blox fruits too. It wouldnt bother me normally but he keeps complaining about the games combat when he is obviously so bad at it.

In order to make combat better. Step one, don’t make the casting instant but give each spell a certain windup. Step 2 change the parrying system, step 3, remove ridiculous aoe moves

Trying to m1 bosses is crazy

The only downtime he has for u to hit him is when he charges his attacks Also when he's charging his one shot (raises his hand up) the less u let him charge the less damage it does, to stop him from charging u just have to do ANY damage, it only does heavy damage like 3x of 500 damage if u let him fully charge it, the least is 25 damage if u hit him very fast, i recommend using ravenna shields u can obtain by killing ravenna guard npcs which make u take less damage when blocking and negate all damage when parrying
