I have a feeling Caji was meant to be Cad Bane from the way she fights, moves, and her choice in hats. She even has rocket boots, and dual pistols similar to Jango Fetts which Cad Bans also uses.
she's blocking them with her blasters, if you look at the blasters they have a sort of bayonet. Fair to assume that these aren't made of cheap cuttable material. Similar to the shields and batons that the imperial troopers carry, or that the energy we vaguely see encasing the edge is important there as well. Basically, she's dripped the fuck out with hunting gear.
