Because men don't wish to acknowledge how vile and evil other "alpha" men are. Many secretly believe a women should not be allowed to leave a failed marriage. In other words, they believe, "they had it coming".

@@joelc9439 Yes but I think that's obvious. Men on the other hand claim they are more fair and logical. They are in most cases but fail miserably if it's a man who's abusing a woman. Afterall, boys will be boys.
