He has previous champs to look up to: it is MMA, not pure Greco Roman or undergraduate college Division I wrestling..... In MMA --- if your striking is accurate & deadly enough to put fear in the heads of the elite wrestlers (who always want to take you down) --- if you have the timing, defensive techniques, and good wrestling yourself (& it doesn't have to be D 1 & D 2)....as both GSP and Leon have successfully shown.... you CAN take elite Division I (Colby) & Division II (Usman) guys down! If the elite wrestlers KNOW, if they merely make one small mistake, they are taken down just as easily and if they also know YOU, as the elite striker, could strike at them with superior skills, you have the EDGE, not them...
