I always get a little twinge of sadness when you finish one of these roadtrips, sentimental for the beginning in Times Square. It's nice these daily videos. Hope you get to see Jen soon! Great work Carpetbagger 👏
Hi Jacob, I live in Reno and thank you for stopping.. the big dome you saw near the hotel, they have shows up inside it it looks like the sky and they have a lightning show. Also the auto museum used to be owned by Bill Harrah, he owned Harrrahs Club many years ago and had a very large collection of old cars. Thank you for taking me down there I haven't been there in years!! Donner lake too I used to go there all the time when I was little.. thank you I have loved this series you've done. You're the best!
Been home for the past week battling covid and using the free time to catch up with Carpetbagger.. No matter how bad I feel, Jacob puts a smile on my face. Thank U Jacob.
I live in CA and am so happy to see you out west!! Where is that Alen spacechip?? I would love to drive out and see that!! Those big dog heads are from "Doggie Diner." We used to visit one accross the street from the SF Zoo when I was a kid. The resteraunt closed, but they still have a big dog head there as a landmark!
That was awesome . You have the uncanny Knack for finding the most obscure but interesting road side attractions . You really have a gift . Blessings and Safe travels . Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Congratulations on finishing your Lincoln Highway adventure, Jacob!!! Since you are already in California, might I suggest you drive Pacific Coast Highway - Hwy 1, from beginning to end. I know it starts at Dana Point (near San Diego) but I don't know where it ends. Just a suggestion......Thank you for the fun adventures!!😇💖👍
I'm a little sad the Lincoln Highway has come to an end. I'm glad you did it and, it was enjoyable. Maybe someday I can do it too. That's true you can't stop everywhere, it would cost a lot of time and, money if you did that. You did stop somewhere each day. If people want to see more, they can go there themselves or, be thankful they got to see what you were able to go.
Loved sitting in the back of the car Jacob, getting to see places I’ll never see, another successful road trip under your belt, can’t wait to see what’s next, always fun, Thankyou x
Congratulations I was with you every step of the way in your backseat. You always take us on such fun adventures. Can't wait for the next one. Be careful out there
I lived 20 feet from the Lincoln Highway in Hayward for a couple years, right off Foothill, and never realized it was the Lincoln Highway until today. I was into Sublime at the time and there was a high likelihood I listened to Lincoln Highway Dub while walking along the Lincoln Highway, thinking the Lincoln Highway was a local highway in New Jersey.
Appreciate the extended ending on this episode, thanking your viewers for supporting you and riding along in the back seat. I have been a $3 postcard Patreon subscriber for a few years, and am now logging in to move myself up to the $5 tier (since everyone's expenses have increased recently). Not a huge amount at the individual viewer level, but if everyone (who has the means) did it...
It was an honor to accompany you on this fabulous Lincoln Highway adventure, which only your special talents of observation, humour and narration combined can make such a special, interesting, educational and humourously entertaining trip. Thank you for taking me with you along your journeys which are so very helpful in keeping me not only entertained, but also healing my heart and soul from the losses of my brother Ken last October, my cat that was like my child last December, and my life partner of 22 years this past February. You have no idea how much watching you and your travels has helped me!!!!Double Attaboy, Carpetbagger!!!!
Those dome cars are custom from the great mind of Ed Roth. Looks like I’m going to have to make a trip to Reno to check them out! Thanks for another amazing video Jacob.
Or also you could drive across Canada. We have some amazing roadside stuff and scenery. You won’t be disappointed. Lots of totem poles and indigenous roadside sights in Alberta ! And Banff is gorgeous. Northern Ontario is something to see. Prince Edward Island where Anne of Green Gables is set.
Loved seeing all the cool cars especially the cute Herbie 💖 your cheeseburger and fries looked so delicious and that chilled root beer looked so refreshing 😍 the car wash octopuses were so cute! 🐙 I really enjoyed this and congratulations on completing the Lincoln Highway! 😄 Thanks for also letting me tag along on these amazing adventures 🤗 best wishes and big hugs ☀️
I’m from Germany and I love your videos about your adventures and museum tours. I didn’t have the chance yet to travel to the US and this is the next best thing. It’s like being a part of a travelling family and I love it. Seeing all of those things with your commentary is a relaxing thing. Thank you for your videos and the time you invest for them! Yours Benjamin
This was so fun to watch and tag along with you! I’ve watched every night before bed and I’m going miss tuning in every night. Can’t wait to see where you go next ❤️
I’d love to see you explore the west coast all the way up someday. This was a great trip to watch. It’s bittersweet when the big ones end. As always, thanks for making these videos.
I loved, loved, loved this series! I had never even heard of The Lincoln Highway until you mentioned it in your Route 66 videos. What a great trip! I am a huge fan! Thanks so much!!
Well done Jacob, such a great journey, I’ve enjoyed everyday from Times Square New York To the Terminus end in California, it’s been a great journey I’ve seen things I will never see in my lifetime no doubt, why don’t you stay in California for a few days while you rest up before that long lonely road back again, take care and safe travels. A viewer from the U K
when the pandemic first hit i was depressed and lost a lot of my gigs as an entertainer then when i discovered you by surfing you made my whole life better,I also enjoy when you go to halloween events and you scream its hillarious thank you again
I've lived here for nearly (broken) 30 years and not once have I gone into the auto museum. I should absolutely go soon though since I'm finally moving back to California next month and can't leave Reno soon enough. It isn't nearly as elegant or appealing as it used to be. We're now the Logistics Canyon to San Jose's Silicon Valley and rapidly becoming as expensive.
Oh Jacob. The happiness you bring people is amazing. I absolutely love you. You should come back to Michigan and travel the outline of it. It’s amazing!! You have so many options to see.
The dog heads appear to from Doggie Diner, which originated in California. I'm wondering if the octopuses came from Madison WI, we used to have two Octopus Car Wash locations, and when they were sold, the octopi disappeared, and we kind of wondered where they went.
Holy wow! Not sure who you are, but Google homepage suggested your video and I'm so glad it did. (I wonder if you paid for ad space) ... Sad you missed the Reno Brews, Blues, & BBQ festival, but you had driving to do. Your voice is great and your stops are fantastic. Thanks! You earned a new follower!
You have traveled across North America so much over the years that I wonder if you have broken any records. It may be fun to look into. I enjoyed this series of videos.Would you recommend traveling coast to coast on the Lincoln highway to your average family or would you recommend a different route?
Congrats 🎉 on finishing another Epic Road Trip.. I’m glad we behaved in the backseat enough that you didn’t have to stop and say “don’t make me turn this car around” lol
Dear Jacob, my name is Brian from Scranton Pennsylvania and have been a long time subscriber/watcher of your videos. I don’t get to watch all your adventures but something caught my eye to watch your trip across the country on Lincoln Highway. I have never heard of this highway before now. I really enjoyed watching the trip. Take care for now and safe travels
interesting fact about the 1902 Capitol, when I was in there one day a mechanic from the museum was there and mentioned the term "on the hot seat" it originated with this vehicle the steam cylinder had a seat on top of it and one person had to sit on the 'hot seat', that is where the phrase came from..We live in Reno and enjoy your videos Jacob...
i never saw or read anything about Reno, so a very nice surprise from this little city. And i very much liked the Ken Fox sculptures, displaying men and women as they are, in the best possible way. Lots of little interesting things in between when suddenly, climbing and descending city streets give a strong indication we have arrived in San Franciso. And the end: Golden Gate Bridge in the background, the golden light of the setting sun illuminating the Carpetbaggers face. Carpetbagger is relieved, satisfied, tired but happy reflecting on these past 11 days. What a beautiful ending to this episode and series. Hollywood couldn't have done it better. Dear Jacob, many many thanks. Take your time and peace on your return trip. Stay safe and, in time, awake us again with the promise of another adventure.
US Route 62 runs from Niagara Falls down to El Paso. I frequently travel the Falls end & have wondered what the rest looks like. Perhaps I can live vicariously thru you!
The mascot that was next to the Muffler Man was the Doggie Diner mascot. He is also the mascot that you asked to be identified in the comment section. Doggie Diner is a San Fran chain.
