Aldi has helped people on low incomes (I'm one of them) so much I don't know we would get by without them!.

This is sad to see but we have to move with the times. The original building was home to Kwik Save and smaller independent concession shops such as Tandy for many years. I believe was opened in the 70s by Wendy Craig. The site was taken over in 06 by Aldi after being sold by Somerfield and it was remodelled to accommodate H&B. Who are set to move into the vacant Argos unit within Upto Sainsbury.

I remember when there was a big Kwik Save and a Tandy on that site in the 1970's and early 1980's. They had an Asteroids arcade machine just opposite the butchers close to the chicken roasting machine. It cost 10p to play. Then, I believe they had a bad fire and that was pretty much the end of Kwik Save and the other businesses. A sad time. I much preferred it then. After that Aldi and Home Bargains came.

Remember the Tandy, but also a large toy shop, Iceland, shoe repair shop / key cutter and a car parts shop.

The car park is dire unfortunately so hopefully the new one will be better. I too remember the Tandy still miss it. There was also a pet store and a Liquorsave. Do yourself a favour be a liquor saver!
