Finally beat it following this method the best I could. Don't have genji gloves, so had to modify the others to build atb so I could keep spamming stop in the last phase. Cloud ended up KO'd, but it's life was low enough, one Synergy attack with Tifa and Barett managed to finish it off. *Didn't need to cast stop near as much as I expected, though, and forgot about using an atb boost on Barrett. Lol
I barely managed to first try this. I ended up losing a character roughly every phase though, first one that died was Tifa with my only revival. Went in to the fight forgetting it was Barrett and not Aerith, so he was basically barren materia wise. He still ended up being my last char, down to the last hit, with no healing on him at all. Just came here after to see how I SHOULD have done that fight lmao
So cool to see how you destroy these hard mode bosses. I stopped playing because I can’t start one of the gears and gambits minigames on hard mode. Missing 5 xp for level 10 party rank… When they fix this I will return to the game and get the platinum and your videos will be a great help. Thanks a lot
@@sirloinestakegames7866 i know but i need to beat the minigame on hard for the trophy :( what bothers me with the missing 5 xp is that i dont want to start my hard mode playthorugh before i havent unlocked the last skills in the tree. want to do it with characters at max power you know what i mean?

I was so hoping this was going to be the solution, but I'm not quick enough to keep it from using glorious emanation and instakilling my whole team. Maybe I'll experiment with reraise
Since Cait Sith is a forced party member I left him built like you had in the Legendary boutique, hoping I could just have Vincent attacking the Moogle the whole time. The battle arena is so small though, his attacks are hitting me even if he is attacking the Moogle.
Hello, I need help please, I just finished the game, how can I still have level 7 weapon for barret n caith sith? Just 5 sp short from level 8 weapon. I tried to refinish some quest that involve barret but my sp not goes up. Do u know how to gain sp ?
Going to need to push my storyline playthrough so I don't get end game bosses spoiled via thumbnail and titles... Not your fault, I'm just trying to do 100% as I go and I just hit ch 12 at 56 hours playtime.
this boss is giving me troubles, near his later stages he shoots a beam out at each person then shoots, I cant dodge or block and it one shots me, what am I doing wrong here, I know you skip this by staggering him but I can pull that off all the time due to timing and rng hell lol
@SK0RRK33P3R I tried to figure out a way to get past his attacks, but you can't unless you master them. So then i went back to tried to cancel that stage altogether and thats what you see here. I know the timing is quite tight to do it all, but you see its much better than trying to learn all his moves ;)
Hmm I can't craft the genji gloves yet as I go in order. Any recommendation for another accessory to wear instead? Maybe just the one that raises Magic and prevents silence?
You've probably done this by now, but I used the @Optinooby build used for Brutal Challenge 4. The difference is that Cait Sith isn't available, so I put his materia on Barrett.
If you drop the enemy skill materia and hp up you can squeeze in warding + binding and not have to worry about silence. I havent tested this yet, did you equip enemy skill just for the stat buffs?
It's not working for me either. When I try to use prime mode it either exits out or doesn't attack head. Also the head isn't popping up in second phase right away. And my bosses health isnt as low as yours 🧐
@@Optinooby I just got it. But had to load tifa with my ups and use stop a few more times and used clouds limit break at the sliver of health. Thankyou for your guidance
Its only the 1st phase you need to dodge around a little as mentioned. Of course if not dodging correctly, yes you will get silenced, but thats why I say dodge, cast fire 3, smash head etc. The 2nd and 3rd stages are over pretty quick, not really much to avoid there. I messed up at the start of stage 2 because i was too far away and my attacks missed. So the only RNG comes in the first phase, but thats why you need to learn to dodge the few moves it can do which are simple. Moves in the 2nd and 3rd phase are much worse, but it should be over before it gets chance to really do anything. Maybe a little RNG with the Head in stage 1, but mostly the strategy is very consistent, just requires you to dodge a little in phase 1, and follow my commands exactly with similar speed ;)
@sirloinestakegames7866 The 1st phase yea, if you go too much into the combo and a attack is coming that you will not be able to stop and dodge in time, yea guess that can happen. 2nd and 3rd phase shouldnt be a problem. But once you learn the 1st phase mate, when to attack, how long to attack as you mention etc etc, its a mega consistent strategy i feel. The great thing about it is that you only really need to learn the 1st phase a little, the 2nd and 3rd phase should be over mega quickly if setup correctly
@@Optinooby I realise where I went wrong. I occasionally pushed the 1st phase into phase 2 too early by using Firaga too early. That means death at the start of phase 2. I was also at the mercy of RNG with the ATB at the very start of the battle. Sometimes Cloud doesn't load up with one full ATB, sometimes Barret takes a while to get one too. And as soon as I took my eye off the ball bam, hit in the face with the big pink puffy cloud 😂 Please don't take my comments as criticism. I LOVE the strategy as it works well, I was just a bit useless at pulling it off.
@@sirloinestakegames7866 Yea thats very key with a lot of these Hard Mode bosses, the stagger gauge, your ATB etc all needs to be in a very similar spot to me, otherwise these just dont work and you will get stuck in a bunch of attacks from the boss
Shit i hate how weak Cloud is now. I love running around in the original just one shotting everything. Rebirth is alright but they made hard mode stupidly hard. I think Square forgot people have to work. That said, thanks for the strat.
Well good god that was the most irritating boss so far Can confirm that the strat works had to go get the genji gloves in order to the damage required in the strat however and max out all the relevant materia and you really do have to follow the guide and setup to the letter And hes right you 100% need to dodge and use prime mode in the first stages otherwise she just cheeses you No joke it took me 60+ attempts before going to get all the required stuff for the fight I woke the neighbours up yelling GET THE F^^K IN YA B@$T@Rd THANK YOUUUU
Im honestly worried im going to forget which is which in terms of Fire, Fira, Firaga or whatever it is, and so I just say Level 3 or whatever as its clearer for me and easier to remember. Im not perfect and you know what I mean, or I hope you do ;)
I keep hearing this guy say "trigger fury" or "prime mode but fury is active". What is he talking about? Far as I know that's a staus effect that raises the limit gauge... but in that context I dont understand... I am halted at this fight...
@@Optinooby yes but I dont understand. It seems like "make sure you get 1 ATB, activate fury" seems to mean that prime mode has fury built in at 1 ATB I just won this fight, but Tifa somehow died at the beginning. I only needed one stop and i ended up with a limit break at stagger
@@slaydezero2658 Oh yea fury is like 35%+ extra damage i think, berserker is the 25% increase. When i say trigger fury and build up 1 ATB, i mean to make sure fury is active ready for when you have generated 1 ATB. So that our next command with that ATB, will have 35% increased damage. If prime mode is already active and i mention to activate fury, i mean to do the combo to trigger fury is all
@@Optinooby yeah but I dont know what "fury" you mean. In the original you would drink a hyper potion for fury and I spent the whole game like this. The way you talk it's triggered by something... dont know what (And I just realized you arnt the poster haha. Your names are similar. Silly me)
Nah, I went in to Roche fight at Junon with 15 MP, and left the fight with 60ish. Magic focus + high magic Stat and a level 3 MP Absorb recovers absurd amounts, especially if you're hitting a weakness.
Don't forget the genji gloves. They are breaking the cap of 9999 so that's what allows you to get 0.3%*9999 which is 29 MP recovery. So you aren't getting all the MP back. Once it's higher than 9999, you can get all that MP back.
lol I got silenced at the very start of phase 3 while doing the Barrett part. Just carried on as usual and used limit on cloud instead, easily recoverable
This how to cheese the boss, how do you beat the crap out of him underlevel, Im lvl 65 and he barely killed me, Whatever, games built to play hard mode from lvl 50 but most everyone levels up huh?
