I did it, after TEN HOURS of trying I finally fucking did it last night. Opti, I'm telling you, I wanted to cry tears of joy. In over ten years of trophy hunting, I've never felt such agony trying to obtain Platinum - Bonds of Friendship is easily one of the hardest challenges I've ever conquered as a gamer. I can't even take all the credit though because I used your amazing guide, but even with that it was still excruciatingly difficult. I cannot thank you enough for these outstanding guides, man. I did the first five Brutal challenges with my own build but I categorically refused to attempt Ruler of the Outer Worlds and the Legendary Bouts without a proper guide. This challenge utterly BROKE me, if it wasn't for you posting these, I'd still be stuck on the first Brutal challenge. This is the last trial I need to get the trophy. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve tried this - but thanks to this guide, I can get to round 9 (Bahamut) most of the time. Occasionally I can make it to round 10 (Odin), and on my last run I got Odin down to 30% health. Slow but steady progress - hopefully one day soon I’ll be able to crack it Thanks so much for this guide, it has been invaluable so far! EDIT: And with that - after about 20 hours of dedication - it’s finally done! It was a clutch victory against Odin (thanks to Zack’s limit break at the last second before death). Now on to Temple of the Ancients, and the Platinum - full steam ahead!

Just finished these last two legendary bouts last night using almost exactly the same strat. Found another youtuber doing the same build. However, they didn't use Stop on most of the enemies that were susceptible to it. Anyways, I used your guides for most of the solo fights and I just wanted to say thanks. Also, I love how you explain your reasonings behind certain builds and go over the encounters step-by-step. Keep up the good work!

Putting Odin at the end of this challenge was absolutely brutal. I think someone hurt Nomura and he's taking it out on us. Thanks a bunch for helping me get through it and all the other brutal/legendary stuff.

I have the platinum now and it’s largely in thanks to these amazing videos. I appreciate how thorough each one I’ve watched has been for each of these VR missions. I was able to beat this one and the Sephiroth one in 2 tries each with these builds. I made it to Odin both of my failed attempts and he rofl stomped me but the second try I played more aggressively and it was a breeze. Thanks a ton man keep up the great content I’ll definitely be watching more videos if you cover a game I’m playing.

I was struggling hard on my own, before this video went live. Finished the Legendary challenge with Sephiroth with my own build, 1st try, because lets face it...sephiroth is OP as hell. But this one, with Zack was driving me nuts. Thx to Opti I managed to do it during my first attempt after watching this video, thx once again hehe finally done with all chadley challenges. Missing only one trophy for plat now, which is finishing all chapters in hard mode ^^ should be fairly easy after finishing these crazy VR missions. Opti 4 president 🥰

For anyone struggling with this one with a level 8 weapon like I was, finish hard mode and do the Sephiroth and Cloud VR first to get to weapon level 9. After many failed attempts on this one before watching this tutorial, I followed the one for Sephy, completed it first time then completed this one on my second attempt with a fully levelled sword. Amazing work again mate. No idea how long this would have taken me without your videos. Finally got my platinum trophy.

Thanks so much for all your guides! Maxing out materia levels is very important, and doing the sephiroth vr battle to get weapon level 9 helped me get through this and it was a breeze with your guide.

Despite the game literally crashing when I had Odin pretty low on a very promising attempt, I shook it off and got it in the second try after the crash. All told, about 5 hours of slamming my head against the wall, but sticking to your strats worked! Appreciate all the hard work and great explanations!

Just wanted to say a very deep thank you for this video. Your guide was an an excellent help in helping me beat this. The only thing I did different was in the 4th fight. I could not consistently be as fast as you so After I switched to cloud I activated, ATB boost and prime mode and built up the second ATB by countering. It helped me follow the rest of your steps and get my ATB back faster with the prime mode. Thanks again!

I beat this first try with your strat! It was very scary during Odin though...Zack and Cloud got separated by spatial distortion and Zack was alowly dying while Cloud was Stopped...luckily Zack survived long enough for Cloud to come back for the Aeroga kill. Thanks again!

Best guides out there. I got through most of the brutal and legendary bouts first try following your steps. This was the first one that was a real challenge but practicing Bahamut and Odin using the summon trials massively helped. Now on to the last one lol

Thanks for this man! My first attempt I got to Odin and he killed me with just a sliver of health left. After that I just seemed to be doing worse and worse, but, after quite a few attempts, I finally got it!

This is a great how to with the best build but obviously its still daunting with 10 battles and the margin for error gets so small. My advice besides the great advice in the video is TAKE YOUR TIME. If you're not in a rush, watch the video for the battle you're about to start, internalize the advice, then give it a shot. When the current battle is about to be over, pause it and watch the next fight. Rinse and repeat. Go run an errand or take a walk. Get in the right headspace. I waited over 20 minutes after the Bahamut fight to start the Odin fight and watched the section on Odin multiple times before trying myself. It will not always go smoothly, just keep a cool head. When I got to Odin, Cloud got killed in the split second as he did aeroga to send Odin into stagger, but before he could get the health back from hitting Odin. I stayed calm, built up an ATB with Zack, used arise while Odin was in stagger, then built up another ATB to use faith. That meant he did spacial distortion with half a health bar, which is not ideal. I switched to Zack but Zack got killed before he did the imprisonment (fortunately I was able to put manawall Cloud before he died). He was about to do the imprisonment on Cloud, but by staying calm, having faith applied, and using the guide to keep those ATB bars full, I was able to swiftcast Aeroga and end the battle before he could imprison Cloud. If Cloud dies, REMEMBER TO REAPPLY FAITH and trigger prime mode again. If I had overlooked Faith, I would have had to start all over again. Thanks again, optinoob! Just need to beat TO BE A HERO to get the platinum trophy!

Yo man just wanted to really say thanks for the video, believe it or not I got it on the first try thanks to this guide, I even botched Bahamut so bad and somehow still came out on top. The mental fortitude doing this challenge is not to be understated. Great job on this.

Just want to say how good this guide is, watched this before attempting my first try and managed to get to Odin with very little hassle,not completed it yet as made some mistakes at Odin but for what I saw online on how bad this one is, this has really made the platinum grind that all the more possible!

Completed! 1st try. After training vs Odin and Bahamut for 1h in the simulations. Thank you so much for your guides!!! Beat almost them all on 1st try. Now onto hard mode lap, I don't think it'll be harder than this.

I had initially felt defeated getting to bahamut and odin and failing because i kept getting greedy with hits, but on the perfect run i lost zack on bahamut and managed to somehow solo with cloud a full health bahamut, was astounded that i pulled it off. Then coming into odin, because this was the guy i practiced for, i had the prime mode blocks perfectly and managed to finally get zack into the temporal prison instead of cloud and a min later he was dead. TY so much my guy i dont even know how much more stressful this could have been without your guide!!! ❤❤❤

I'm not gonna lie, I'm feeling a little burnt out with these fights. Great timing now that I have these last two bouts to do and then hard mode and I'm done. anyone else feel like this game relies too much on luck? i'm following the guide to a T but it doesnt matter what i do, odin will kill zach almost instantly and hes going into the fight with full health. so so so so frustrating, take nothing away from the guide (and previous ones) they are superb but i've got to round 10 over 20 times now, and it happens every single time. Square clearly got too giddy when they made these ridiculous challenges :(

Thanks for all your guides man. I used your guides for the last half of the brutal challenges even with severely underleveled materia and was able to get by with ease. I’ve gotten to Odin thanks to your help and can pretty easily get back to him and nearly kill him, but my underleveled swiftcast and other blue materia are definitely holding me back! Gonna have to grind them to max.

Nice guide i just took out wind and lightning moved it to mp absorb and in its place put magic efficiency and reraise. It helped me clutch odin and bahumut. I cast it on zack for both fights. So i did faith, atb boost , reraise, prime mode. In the beginning.

I'm so tired of this Platinum. It's not even fun anymore. I feel physically and mentally tired. I don't know if I can keep going. I just need to finish Story Hard Chapter 14 and the last 2 Legendary Challenge. Still, I feel like I want to just.. stop.

Your guide helped tremendously. I was stuck on this for a while and finished this one and To Be A Hero today. Even though the battles didn't go exactly like yours when I did Bonds of Friendship i managed to finish it finally, played little aggressively against Odin which worked. Building up Sephiroth's attack so you can spam the dodge and attack to quickly fill his limit is so OP. Got me through most of the battles in To Be a Hero.

Slightly modified your build with HP Up and Speed Up instead of Elemental + Fire/Ice and it worked like a charm. I was struggling with Cloud's low HP and lack of ATB build up. Huge thanks, your guides are the best.

The RNG in this strategy is insane. It's so dependent on the enemies behaving exactly the same way as they do in your run.
