It is apsolutely possible. At the very least one of the many versions of Sephiroth throughout the different timelines has "a greater good" in mind and as his motive. Sephiroth has, throughout the compilation of FF7, become a deep character that isn't just strictly evil for the sake of being evil. Some versions of sephiroth are used by jenova, some use jenova themselves and maybe there is also one version, that is aware that he has been manipulated and seeks to do his own kind of "right thing". Ever Crisis brought more to the table than we initially thought. for example sephiroth having a picture of his actual mother (lucretia) and asking around if anyone knows her, but hojo lying to him that this is a woman named jenova, only to implant the thought of "jenova is my mother" to him. Which, if you think about it, didn't happen for any other reason but to mess with him mentally. Because if hojo wouldn't have done this, the name Jenova would have meant nothing to sephiroth and sephiroths downfall would not have occured at all. He wouldn't even have known who or what jenova even is, let alone that he is linked to it. he would have known that his mother was a actual human woman who was called Lucretia and he would have never questioned if he is even human or not if not for the single fact that hojo did this one tiny twist on the truth. Sephiroth would have ended the nibelheim mission as planed and nothing would have happened. He wouldn't have thought he is a cetra, he wouldn't have come into contact with jenova, wouldn't have killed anyone etc. None of the events that make the story would have happened if not for Hojo giving him a picture of his actual Mother and lying to him that this is a woman named Jenova. Which clearifies (at least to me) that the one TRUE bad in the story is not this all powerfull super soldier (sephiroth) or this dangerous alien lifeform (jenova) but a single, very evil and sick man who is nothing but a human who wants to see the world burn just to see how it goes and because terror just intrigues him (hojo)
It's possibile.....he has the tools and the motivations to do It,if he gets the support he needs.....he knows he cannot do It alone,That's why he's " training" Cloud

That has always been my theory :D with a little tweak... - Harbinger is Jenova her self and after she destroy Omega in Dirge of Cerberus, the Gaia lifestream was doomed - the bad ending, the fate that needs to be defied. - Sephiroth regain consciousness after Advent Children and learning Jenova's goal, he rebels. Being powerless against Jenova, he uses the party to defeat the Harbinger - weakening her. After Jenova was weakened, He took over the black whispers. - Sephiroth learned that only thru Omega he can reach the Creator realm so he wants to saturate the lifestream earlier to activate Omega. So he went to the past (Ever Crisis) the start the Shinra-Wutai war plan, and also goes to the OG timeframe to continue the meteor. With this 2 front, lifestream will be saturated with "worlds" which actually just dead person's subconsciousness and memories. - The 2 weapons in rebirth might end up being Chaos and Omega, and Sephiroth wounding Chaos (the one that fights the black whispers), is what might lead to Vincent inherits the Chaos materia. Chaos and Omega are the final weapons the the creator embedded in the lifestream. They activate when the lifestream is getting so much corruption (black whispers), or the lifestream is too saturated with white whispers. In the case of the former, Chaos activates to clean up the lifestream first before Omega collects the remaining lifestream (white whispers) and carry them to the realm of the creators (pass the edge of creation). - Sephiroth uniting worlds means there will be no more black or white whispers, saturating the lifestream, therefore Omega activating and carrying the lifestream, with Sephiroth in it, to that higher realm. There are so many evidence in remake about this theory. Like: - The general black whisper wants to prevent changes because this is how Jenova won. But Sephiroth manipulates a small group of whisper so he can remain undetected by Jenova. He tried to move Wedge and lock him in a spot where he wont die during the sector plate collapse, but instead expose the Deepground facility. - Jenova always wanted the lifestream of the corrupted people like Pres Shinra so she always wanted to kill him (Yes it wasn't Sephiroth and it is for concocting geostigma). But Sephiroth manipulated the events in that section so that Cloud and the party will get to the Pres office earlier. Palmer was suppose to be the witness of the president's death but Sephiroth scared him so he didn't go to the office as he suppose to be. Instead, thru Wedge, the party skipped getting captured and so they arrived earlier. Sephiroth wants the whole party to witness Jenova (dressed as Sephiroth) attack them. There's a lot of small details but yeah, Sephiroth was never present in the OG. He was dead prior and has not yet regain his consciousness in the lifestream during that time.
Awesome idea. I would totally love it. I only hope the dev hear you. Cross fingers badly. That Cloud and co would have a temporary truce just to end Jenova and Hojo that would be so good. And because Sephiroth is always the villain everyone talks about but in my opinion too Jenova and Hojo are the true evil in this story. Jenova because it and here I think Jenova original form was a virus when it comes to Gaia. And that the host earned that famous trade mark grey hairs with time. And she had almost wipe out the Cetra. While Hojo had been experimenting on everything that breathe. Whether they know it or not. And I do believe Jenova manipulating Sephiroth also because he was looking for a mother and thought he finally found one. Again because of Hojo. Yeah They Need to go down.
We know that Sephiroth has an actual mother who loves him, frozen in a crystal in a cave. It's unknown whether he knows about her or not, but it's highly likely that the time travelling Sephiroth does. He wants to be free of Jenova and that's his true motivation to go back into the remakes timeline. I think in order to kill Jenova she needs to be personified. It can't be some reptilian, mindless creature that just seeks to devour everything. Who was the beautiful woman mutant in the tank that was dismembered? Maybe she was in fact an ancient who became corrupt by some sort of curse. According to the plot she is an alien, but then why does she look human? Jenova has the power of mimicry, if so she must've mimicked someone. A Cetra perhaps...
That's very interesting, i think they will explore jenova origin in part 3 maybe even revealing her true form, and lucrecia which is sephiroth mother will appear in part 3 maybe in spirit form to reveal more sephiroth past or saying sorry to vincent valentine. Also i think sephiroth know that lucrecia is his mother, the ever crisis ending are showing him reflecting his past so i think he must've known, maybe in season 2 of first soldier but we'll see
@@yoooo790 my bad i spoke to fast, but i do understand the story of ff7 and i also discuss the sephiroth story from ever crisis and i mention maximilian dood's theory about how sephiroth might team up with cloud to defeat jenova and giving sephiroth more agency in this remake trilogy, of course this is just theory we will see if it happens in part 3
No he won't cause Remake Trilogy and EC follows OG VII Compilation Canon, there are no deviations no time travel stuff none of the sorts, Devs have said this multiple times
Thank you for iterating this. I know some folks want Sephiroth to have this redemption arc but i dont want it honestly. Even if he does break the chains of manipilation from Jenova, i hope it just empowers him to do more bad lol. Cuz then we'll know it just wasnt Jenova's doing all along but that Sephiroth becomes truly warped. Hence eventually becoming a Seraph.
The story Is their story,since the writers actually are the same team of the OG...but they are simply developing a lot of things that were already present or vaguely present in characters and facts.Many of us want to see things not as they are but the way we like and wish they are....but i'm totally sure that the devs are doing such an amazing job that,in the end,the trilogy Will be loved by almost everybody.....It's a true masterpiece
@@federicamacchia1656 Just because they choose the change stuff it deosn´t mean its good. Rebirth is already a failure in terms of sales and it has nothing to do with being exclusive ,because there are other exclusive games that sold better. I preorderd remake and rebirth ,but part 3 no thanks. part 3 will sell even less ,than rebirth just like Final Fantasy XIII trilogy sold less with every new game.
