"Avalanche!" "Local florist!" "Lab rat dog!" "Where's the rest of you?" "Up your ass." This type of dialogue is precisely what makes Barret the best character.
When Red said 'Lab-rat dog' I laughed so damned hard because that was what Barret called him earlier in the game. And for the record, red is a dope-ass character.
You can't help but love Barret. His voice actor deserves an award. I played this game for like the 5th time they really did an incredible job with the game overall.

Barret really carried so much of this game, i already loved it but man o man Barret was made 100x better thanks to the remake. He was so close to being a negative but the voice actor has a ton of character in it and shout to SE for letting him improvise the Stair scene and a lot of his lines.
@@JoKeR-hh8rg the voice isn't really the problem with morgana. the problem is that he's a damn simp (literally, he praises ann for anything just because she's cute) and because he's always insulting ryuji for no real reason, which is extremely annoying when you have him on your team.
Those words before entering the portal talking about fate and telling his daughter he will be back , not knowing what is ahead gave me chills for some reason

Barret is the kind of guy that you will get intimated first because of his physical appearance but once you get in his light side, it's hard to take him serously. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I still can not believe SquarEnix actually remade the entire staircase scene in the game remake and actually put in the time and work into writing a page worth of lines for Cloud, Tifa, & Barret to say while going up it. Which only funnier as they went higher up, hell even the BGM slows down as you got higher for added comical effect.
The clip from chapter 18 during the bike mini game is something else. Barret like, oh cmon man don’t you see the piece of shit we’re on? And Red 13 was like, says the 300 pound sack of it Or when he told Red to smile
I always knew he would sound gruff and even in the original text he was still comic relief but the context and delivery had less impact without a voice actor. You think he's awesome now just wait until the Corel Prison/Dyne arc🔥
I really think the only one missing is the one liner before the battle with The Arsenal: Red: Ready? Barret: I was born ready, Red. I had to pause the game out of respect of the sheer badassnes Barret exudes.
I heard there were complaints about his voice, I dont know why, I think its fine. But tbh, I pictured Kevin Michael Richardson (principal from American Dad) as his voice
The chocobo that Barret sat next to in the back of the truck LOVES HIM and is a critical piece of his story-arc later on. I'm shocked that they are following the original japanese FF7 novel that was released back when the game first released on the PS1. We are in for a real treat story wise. But they forgot follow Wedge's cats ( Biggums, Reggie and Mister Smalls ) who went to look for him when a whisper informed them wedge was dying. Why did they leave that out? Thats a bummer because Cait Sith is a part of wedge's and his cat's story arc.
Barret, as most of FF7 characters, has a unique and top tier design. The funny thing about him however is he is the only one that has a couple references I cant help but see with his design. Duke Nukem, Mr. T, and Blade lol
Since the Last of Us Part 2 was a story fuckfest, I'm falling back on this game. At least the padding in this game is 10 times better. I'd rather replay the Uncharted: Tifa's Fortune section instead of playing as Steroid Lady who kills with golf clubs
