@Tawny Splittgill selling him short there, aren't you? Yes, he's a narcissist, but what makes him great is that up to this point, he won. His plans keep getting foiled but he's still always a step or two ahead of the heroes, because he plays a mean game of chess, taking what beats him and factors it as his new scheme. He only blows his top here, because, when he's, by all accounts achieved total victory, he's then told he's doomed from the get go, so he snaps.
The Dissidia games take him a step further, showing him in a situation where his primary motivator, Garland, isn't around and thus Kuja has no reason to be a villain or torment the heroes. He instead despises being used by the gods and finds the other villains distasteful (Kefka in particular) and is more on the heroes' side.
I remember when I was child playing at this game with my brother. This scene was always spectacular! When Kuja destroys Terra reminds me Dragon Ball Z haha. Great!
Fine years late, but I understood that and I am also sad because Zangermarsh is my second favorite place next to Nagrand in Burning Crusade. AKA: KUJA! NOOO!!!
There may not be much left but the planet still exists. In Memoria, Garland tells you about what will happen when Terra assimilates Gaia so I can only imagine there's something still there.
Gone but dead when the Iifa destroyed. Terra's crystal is dead. Gaia's soul was freed & returned to Gaia's crystal after centuries of waiting. Now Gaia was safe from the disaster.
It might just be that it's kind of a coincidence but both Garland and Amarant's "Wave" attack use the same pose and visuals as Kamehameha (I mean, on top of all the other aspects FFIX rips from Dragonball, but hey, still a good game).
After the last battle with Necron. The Lifa tree along with Terra's crystal (Along the planet) dies that which halted the assimilation with Gaia. The cycle of Gaia's soul is now freed. No mist, no destruction & no monsters. Gaia & the whole universe is finally safe in peace.
Sorry, Idk about the planet's crystals. Haven't gotten that far yet. But you can't forget, Kuja isn't JUST a planet buster. Had the protagonists not stopped him, he would've destroyed the Crystal, the core of the universe itself. Granted we never actually see him do that, so it's technically not known whether he could've done it, but we have good reason to think he could be a universe destroyer like Neo-Exdeath.
He isn´t universe buster level though. He needs a tool (the crystal) to destroy the unverse. I could use a bomb to destroy a city, that doesn´t make myself city level.
