Thanks for this! The commentary is very pleasant and informative. This game is a huge chunk of childhood nostalgia. I remember it taking my brother and I months or probably even years to figure out the 8-palmtree puzzle. The last boss I remember reaching is Iflyte. This video made me pick the game back up and I'm looking forward to finally beating it.

45:18 - I remember playing this game as a kid. I struggled with the palm tree puzzle and had to call a hint hotline to get a solution. That was after farming tons of sea shells to get the same in-game hint. 2:01:47 - I also legit cried for Marcie. Glad to hear I wasn't alone.

Played this game for the first time recently with the Collection of Mana and absolutely fell in love with it.

I'm surprised you didn't buy the silver sword because it's very useful in killing things that are immune to every other weapon. LIke the witchy heads which take fire but silver also works.. Many more examples up to even the end game dungeon. I also replayed this game many times. I once did an alternating 'stamina / wllpower build' and a willpower magic build. i love when willpower goes from zero to full in less than a second. I also once spent so much time in the desert not understanding the clue, that i got up to lv.42 before the 'palm trees and 8' clue made sense. My first time mind you playing.. Figured it out, just took me a while.

Does that glitch work with the regular adventure too? This game said it mystic quest at the loading screen. Even though they the same game.

My only complaint was that dull, brown color scheme the runner chose. I mean, ick. Go black-and-white or all green if you're doing something like that. XP

Is there any (reasonable) way to properly dodge Chimera when coming down? Without full will bar, that is?

I wish all of these GDQ and RPGLB videos weren't ruined by a shrill-voiced host breaking in as often as possible to read donations. It started as something Mike Uyama did just so there wouldn't be dead air whenever the runner had to focus. Now they just try to read as many as possible, and theyr'e all depressing and annoying, like "Oh my god I totally LOOOOOOOOOVE Duck Tales. Also mental illness runs in my family and my dad killed my mom and our groundskeeper with an axe while we were snowed in at this hotel we were taking care of. LOVE YA GUYS"
