In case anyone is curious: The song at 4:10 is 'Final Fantasy' - Nobuo Uematsu Phantasmagoria The song at 4:25 is 'Roaming Sheep' - Final Fantasy 3 (Because I spent entirely too long looking for them, and don't want anyone else to have to do that.)
FF4 Japanese commercial: Here's some girl cosplaying as Rosa for 30 seconds. FF4 US commercial: FF4 is a game that takes half a year to complete! These definitely make me want to buy the game.
@@micaholson7293 20 hours today, with YT, guides and everything. Back in the day, without Nintendo Power or some other guide, you'd been in for LOOONG ride...
They didn't "fail" because I don't think they were trying "to get the tone," but rather make a commercial that makes the game look fun. The Japanese commercial focuses on how fun the Chocobos are by showing footage of their real-life equivalent, ostriches. The American commercial emphasizes that the game is long and addicting. If anyone "completely fail to get the tone," it's you. And how is the tone of the ads the opposite of "brilliant"?
Wtf..I've been Playing Final Fantasy for 25+ years with IV being my favorite..and I NEVER knew they had an American Final Fantasy IV commercial until now.
@@The_Gallowglass the guy that made the final fantasy 6 (and some other final fantasy) artwork likes to make every character blonde. Pink hair? Blonde. Green hair? Blonde.
@@joaonitro5149 It comes down to cartoons. They often make each character colored differently so as to be easily distinguishable to children. Then you see the realistic artwork and CGI and they tend to have more realistic hair colors.
He is pretty OP when you first meet him. As far as late-game, give him the Offering and a Ribbon, Paladin Shield and Aura Lance (strongest base atk in the game for a non elemental weapon), any helmet that seems good except the Thornlet, and a Snow Muffler. Congratulations Mog is now Nigh-Invincible. You can also teach him any magic you want too. And if you boost his stats using Espers, then that just makes him more invincible.
Thr Final Fantasy III Super NES ad was the reason I got into FF. Seeing a Moogle for some reason made me super interested in the game. Then the box art popped up and that's when I asked for the game. Few weeks later I got it and it was all I played. Over. And over. Again. To this day it's my favorite video game of all time and my favorite game series. Thank you FFIII! (actually Final Fantasy VI just misnumbered in the western og release of VI as III due to most ff titles not in the west at the time)
I watched a ton of TV as a kid and I never once saw a commercial for a Super Nintendo game. Constantly saw Game Boy game commercials (the one with Wario hypnotizing the viewer) but never anything else. Was it a regional thing? Did other parts of the america get the SNES commercials?
The ostrich for ff 4 was..a killer lol~ well at least it reddemed somehow on the one with the Motorbike~ I like one of the FFT commercials not bad I guess. The chronicles were good I think~ And also Mar-che~? thought it was Marche with silent 'e' haha~
*ostrich running on a beach* *people laughing like idiots while the black chocobo theme plays* Yep. That makes me want to rush out and buy the game right now.
Ok the one with the bird for final fantasy iv made no sense but... when they did the one for final fantasy iv advance, did the girl return to the same beach ?
True but it's about the way it's advertised. The Japanese ones are creative, witty and intriguing enough for you to take interest in the game. The American ones are goofy af and too gimmicky. It wouldn't stop me from buying then but the difference between the commercials are night and day.
Did we just watch the same video? There is a japanese commercial of an ostrich. It runs across the beach. That's it. That's supposed to make you buy their game? Then there's the one with a demon face poking through a hole. Something like a casting call with a Moogle judging monsters by scariness at least makes some semblance of sense....
These are so unrelated, nonsensical, cheesy, and generally awful, so much so they do a 180 and become kinda enjoyable. also that 2nd Final Fantasy Tactics video has a resolution lesser than that of a Gameboy Camera. I'm not even making a joke.
That Final Fantasy 3 US commercial is WEIRD!! no wonder the game didn't do well in North America. I couldn't tell if it was a comedy/horror theme game from that ad. Horrible!
