Jokes on me, but at first I was actually kinda confused. Cecil and forgiveness? Who should he forgive? I mean, Kain and Golbez were both brainwashed, so it wouldn't be much of a challenge to forgive them for what they've done. Especially considering we're talking about Cecil, who is pretty much the most kind and the most gentle protagonist in the whole series Only later it clicked. It's so easy to forget how difficult, but crucially important it is to forgive yourself. And for Cecil... Hell, it was probably much easier for him to rebel against false king's orders than it was to forgive himself. Damn...
Same here. I was 14 when I played this game and it had a huge impact on my life. I loved everything about it. It's hard to believe I'll be going on 46 this Dec. Such simpler times back then.
This is the best version of the song. Nostalgia and pain mixed with something beautiful all the same, there's something here that the other recordings just lack. It speaks volumes without a single lyric. Thanks for keeping it alive here, the only other video of this was taken down

Same for me, this theme along with Melody of Lute just etched themselves into my brain ever since I played this game on DS when I was 10. Whenever I whistle it’s this song I’m whistling, whether I’m thinking of final fantasy or not
Final Fantasy song is always memorable. When listening to this, I always imagine myself in fantasy world with cherry blossom tree blown by the wind and the pink leaves are flying on the air in the midst of the night with shining stars. At the same time, hoping for the “true love” to sit and live with me in this fantasy world enjoying this moment. I hope that I can find my “queen”, who will stand by my side. Weird really. I have faced many adversities in my life, trying to be hard and centered as I can to overcome those storms in my life. Yet in my deepest heart, I am still a hopeless romantic that wants a “true love” by my side and this desire occurs in my childhood playing Final Fantasy games. I always hope and believe there is a suitable “queen” that will live in my life like I imagine. Seems “childish”, but I brlieve the time will come. And thanks Final Fantasy for filling my childhood 😊❤️
Such a beautiful piece... It brings back both some of the happiest and most painful memories of life. Truly... Even though this is a remastered track from DS; you can tell the emotion that was written in every note.
