Great video- this was good stuff- but sometimes I think we overpower our units so much that we don’t get all the dialogue of the game. The gafgarion battles come to mind… you end up killing him so fast you don’t get all the cool story elements. Plus it’s cool when some of your allies get ko’d early but come back to life with 1 HP to continue talking 😂
I've seen all of the dialogue at this point lol but I see your point. This was mostly for making Ramza strong enough to be able to solo everything or what is best on him.
Ramza is the definition of a jack of all trades. Well, it can't be said from pretty much any MC in JPRGs since they are either dead center in the middle stat wise, or have a very minor leaning to a physical or magical role, but FFT giving soo many tools to play with it feels like you are on a class sandbox to suit your own playstyle.
Yeah for sure too bad he can't equip the female unique equipment just cause lol. I'd say he would be too overpowered but so are a lot of other things lol
Last playthrough my Ramza build was Squire/Mediator. Mediator makes sense to me, story wise, as he consistently opens dialogue in battle, right? So maybe he couldn't one shot everything he had to attack, but he's backed up by Agrias, Meliadoul, a Hippy Chick, and a Jedi Knight (Knight/Monk, Parry, Two-Handed, Move HP Up) wielding a Defender. I only just finally got a mod-able way to play FFT, and really want to play this War of the Lions.
Curious about something regarding Mages on the PSP version. Would it be better more powerful to Dual Wield 2 Dream Weavers/Nirvana’s/Crown Scepters instead of Arcane Strength or is Arcane Strength a higher damage modifier?
Arcane Strength is better in most cases as it will increase damage by around 33%. But if you can somehow get Crown Scepters at a lower level with dual wield then it will be better as your MA isn't quite as high yet.
@@J7Jase i mean if i change from squire to another job for level up and back to squire again, does the speed stat return to 23? (sorry if my english is bad)
It can survive if you have Blade Grasp/Shirahadori or do the MP Switch/Mana Shield and Manafont/Move MP Up combo also use Low Faith if you don't want to use magic. The Mage should do more damage but the Geomancer /Draw Out does have better HP and one extra move so you can get in closer.
I understand going down levels to rebuild, I did a full team dark knight grind in chapter one, on my psp, still have that file, too. But why level down as a bard??? I’ve already brought my team down before, but with the current classes they were working on mastering. And then back to 99 once everyone reached dark knight. I feel like I deprived my units of permanent stats after watching your video. All your content is great, by the way; I’m a big fan 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey thanks so much for being a fan! Watching and commenting here. I have a lot more videos I want to make. It means a lot and even though its been harder lately I still will try and give a response. So you want to level down as a Bard because their stat growth is bad meaning you won't lose that many stats on the degenerator trap. Dark Knight has fantastic PA but all their other stats aren't that great. I like Ninja usually for the PA and Speed though. Sorry for the late response I've been busier
@@aaronstreet1054 That is great. I just recommend possibly emulating it in the future once you grab your files and so on if possible. So much quality of life on an emulator these days
maybe you are not aware or maybe you do not do this. But it's better (and more grindy) to use a max level onion knight to do the trap trick. then use bequeath bacon to level. as that has the ebst stat growths in the game basically beating any other class.
I'm aware. I'm an FFT channel however having a Wild Boar and to use that trick takes not only forever but it's also RNG reliant as you need Wild boars.
Well I only played the old PSX version and by watching your channel I'm seeing how much the game improved with the latter versions. As always, my Ramza was Squire main/Samurai Sub because how op samurai is as a subclass (heal, buff and DMG without need to charge, I never liked how magic works in this game, not saying that is weak).
@@J7Jase yeah I saw it, but I always liked to use Ramza as Squire because he can equip shields and armors, the hat that gave speed was super good in the PSX version and Ramza speed already was insane lol. I don't remember the rest of the setup though, I think that I used double attack (I honestly don't remember), but your setup is stronger.
@@williamzeo2493 it's good and we can play the game how we want lol. I myself don't like magic as much but just had to mention math skill since it's overpowered even though I consider it the most boring lol.
When I was a kid I always wondered why did Ramza did not get awesome sword skills like other characters. But it's thanks to that that we experimented with so many builds.
I still wish he did. I mean the guy defeats some of the best warriors and demons in Ivalice lol. And yeah we get to really mess around and experiment with him
I'll definitely have more mod showcases in the future but the base game is just so fun for me and I have a lot of ideas and such and videos I want to make lol
My current file has over 800 hours played, ive only done the mission up till Algus leaves the group. Ramza has all classes mastered, and has leveled up to 50 as mime, and down to 1 as bard, about 100 times, and the same with ninja. ALL level up combat has been done using the AI controls.
Why not show my practical build again? Mine stands around absorbing magic attacks if he wants. Excalibur. Ice Shield. Thief Hat. Rubber Costume. 108 Gems. Guts. Math Skill. Blade Grasp. Magic Attack Up. Move + 3.
@@nstrong17nsactually that’s very interesting, I always did Bard too but looking back, speed is easily the most valuable as getting to 999 damage is pretty easy. Next time I’ll use Arithmetician as more speed is more turns 😂 (just imagine a 40-50 speed Ramza)
I always hated magic because there are so many enemy mages in the normal playthrough, but that 97 Faith Ramza doing hit-all Holy is pretty sick! As long as he and Beowulf are the only ones that have Faith, I guess you can even target you 3 Faith allies and wouldn’t matter much 😂 Ramza the Friendly Fire boiiii
I like melee way better too but yeah low faith it hardly does any damage and its destructive lol. but I still don't like arithmeticks/math skill personally but its overpowered for sure
@@J7Jase 100% same, I avoid Math Skill like the plague usually. Chapter 1 I decide who should unlock Dark Knight, train them up for chapter 1-2 as a Black Mage to master that job, then its like everyone going to 3 Faith mode (non-DK candidates go to 3 immediately) :D
Never tried it myself personally but Bard is the better choice. It would be a cool video idea but also a time consuming one. I'm sure it would have been done or recommended if it was better though
@J7Jase Alright. Consider myself corrected. I just see all of these new classes and terminology for skills and abilities, and I get switched off. I'm an old fart.
@@pc4mlc451 While the names of the original and sounds are far superior, the psp Emulator just feels better and smoother for my experience and there is more content. So I prefer that when recording and with game capture.
@J7Jase Fair enough. I can imagine trying to capture recordings of OG hardware is more of a headache. I get it. Either way, I'm just glad there is still a decent amount of interest in this game. It's my overall favourite. :)
