meant to replay this game as I never finished it and noticed that you can not replay the very first mission via mission select and that the S-Rank is not easy at all to get without NG+, so I retried and optimized a bunch to get this now
general strats:
use Queen as much as possible, as her attacks are quick so they can abuse Killsight and Breaksight whenever possible, getting used to enemy movesets should be quick as there are only really 2 enemies around you can properly counter:
| the infantry which you can KS whenever they raise their arms to prepare to shoot or to punch
| the MAs, which when they raise their 2 legs can be BS'd albeit being hard to hit, easy to deal with with magic (I got lucky with the last one lol)
after that it's mostly movement optimization, not dying to the officer with the 2 RPGs about and having Ace out at the 2 moments he is needed
this would be in order:
Queen KSes the first few enemies, do not kill the officer before killing the small guy as this yields 1 extra phantoma and you need 40 for the S-Rank, things can go South sometimes and corpses will despawn before you can harvest them so this one is pretty free
run up the stairs and wait for the unskippable fucker to disappear
swap to Ace for the bridge fight that requires ranged combat and pray to god you hit some KSs
swap back to Queen, get the Knowing Tag and KS the infantry, try to harvest them in 2-3 groups instead of going for all of them at once, as you will have corpses despawning potentially busting you out of the 40 required, after activating the platform raiser you KS and harvest another 2x 2 infantries before battling the MA, in order to get the BS on it you want to stand in front of it, which will cause it to alternate between firing MGs and raising its legs, that enables you to BS as described above
boarding the ship is p much just a further show of Queen killing enemies in small groups before harvesting, do ignore all the RPGs as killing them takes way too long (you need range, you don't wanna swap to Ace and wait for his cards to connect, let alone hoping for a KS)
the officer right before you place the magicite can kill you, so be prepared to heal yourself
after the magicite there's another 3 infantries to KS before you want to swap to Ace to battle the mini MA, you can use other chars for this too, but he is doing best at getting BS because the thing jumps around a ton
after that it's back to Queen with 2 more MAs, same as above
I don't quite understand Dainsleif's BS, first part I just Zantetsuken right away and the 2nd part I dodge and keep assaulting with Ace, sometimes the BS is open for longer sometimes not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
disclaimer about Ace turning invisible and some other stuff: I'm using a 60FPS patch, this breaks some animations so don't mind that lol
