Nobuo Uematsu has gone on record that he considers OWA to be both an orchestral piece and a rock piece, and that this version of the song that combines both into one is the truest version of the song in that sense. I guess you could say it's the "complete" version.
But the side effect is... less powerful than AC version. Pretty sure that the official only used AC version for other games. ACC version was never used ever since..
Might also be related to the fact that the song purple haze by Jimmy hendrix is one of the places he pulled inspiration from... but maybe that's a stretch.
Imagine being haunted by someone who you thought you got rid of, only for them to summon a giant meteor in an attempt to destroy the planet, stopping them, and then having them appear out of flipping nowhere a few years later. story of clouds life
And Sephiroth said in FFAC he'll never be a memory. I didn't understand until I played the remake and watched analysis videos. This asshole doesn't know when to quit, one timeline doesn't work? Invade another.
funny thing is cloud kind of asked for this because he was stalking sephiroth first this is sephiroth giving cloud a taste of his own medicine even in Kingdom hearts clouds the one following sephiroth around
Never heard the "complete" version until today. The speakers I use are of quality. I turned them up all the way and was blown away by the layers of instruments that are just so subtle. Having Horns that harmonized a melody over the guitar was like a whisper in the background. Definitely One-Winged Angel, complete. The way all the instruments are arrayed is perfect. Most anything else would turn it into a cacophony. I wish there was more music that was as inclusive as this piece was with the variety of instruments used.
The original was better, it sounded more natural and the instruments blended in perfectly. This one here feels like the instruments were overlapping each other
I am 40 The first non-extended version from the movie I prefer. The extended length one comes off as a clipped repeat extension of the ending measures. The PS1 version I like as well, but I view it as a different genre category. When I wrote the original comment, I wasn't in a natural state of mind. I was a bit more joyous in that moment. I listened to it after DMT.
I always prefer this one simply because I think the mixing here is superior than the original. I can hear the new instruments and the orchestra crisp and clear, whereas in the original, the former is too blurry for my liking.
I don’t think Cloud spent a second of this fight on the offense apart from the very end. Up until the Onnislash, he spent the battle frantically trying to fend off Sephiroth’s attacks and running for his life.
Pauses at 6:02 Finishing the scene: Zack: So what if it looks hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams, and whatever happens, protect your honor as SOLDIER. Well, ok. You never made SOLDIER. But it's what's in here that counts. Cloud: Zack? Zack: Well? You need a hand with him? *Cloud shook his head as he grasp his sword at a normal grip Zack: You already beat him once, didn't you? Then this should be a cinch. Cloud: Yeah... Zack: Cloud. You know what I told you. *pressing the play button Cloud: That's right. I am your living legacy.
@@lordspyro5983 In Advent Children Complete, this got updated. Cloud initially strikes Sephiroth with his sword and makes a Mako illusion clone. Then he does this again 8 more times. At this point, he has 5 Mako illusion clones ready to strike. When Cloud charges in for the finishing blow, the Mako illusion clones then attack Sephiroth in quick succession, and Cloud then delivers the finishing blow. Based purely on the fact that Omnislash ver.5 had only 6 strikes, while this has 13, this was dubbed by fans as Omnislash ver.6.

3:12 that transition is amazing. In my opinion, I think that part until the end is the best part of the song. The awesome solos from the guitar are amazing
Same! I love that the extended cut of the movie gave Sephiroth just a little more time to express to Cloud just how he intends on royally fucking his shit up! XD
@@Zeromus0 _Square Enix sold Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal, and Square Enix Montréal to Embracer Group for $300 million last week in a deal which included several IPs including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, and more._ They also won't be making any attempts at movies or anything anymore apparently.
@@Randomguy-sn1yz Quality over quantity. A increase in games made will often mean shoddily made games. Take the Soviet Union, under a 5 year an factories had a 500% increase in productivity. The products made had a failure rate of 95% as opposed to 25% before the 5 year plan.
There so many versions of this song Heres the list as far as i know Original ffvii Advent Advent complete Kingdom hearts 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, Remastered from youtube PC 2012 version Crisis core PSP Orchestral/Dissidia Black mages

The last thoughts of Geostigma's death...those remnants will join the Lifestream and girdle the planet. Choking it, corroding it. What I want, Cloud, is to sail the darkness of the cosmos with this planet as my vessel. Just as my Mother did long ago.
My whole life I've been listening to the incomplete version, wondering why it didn't sound like the one from the complete version of the movie and now after 13 years I've finally found the complete version and having a mental breakdown cuz I'm happy and yes my day is amazing thanks for asking 👌🏼
Let me remind you. This time you won't forget. (Sprouts black wing, flies up, and epically stabs Cloud repeatedly with the Masamune as blood rains from Cloud's wounded body.)
@105460668731883502478 Ugh! *Tries to slash Sephiroth but gets cheek cut. Grabs on masamune and get thrown down.* “AAAAUUUUGH!!!!” *Slams onto the floor.* *7-13-21 EDIT:* Fixed grammar.
*Music pauses in **6:02* Zack: So what if is looks hopeless? if it were me, I still woudn't give up. Embrace your dreams, and whatever happens project your honor as SOLDIER, well okay, you never made SOLDIER but it's whats in here that counts. Cloud: Zack? Zack: Well, you need a hand with him? you already beat him once did you? cause you be a singe. Cloud: Yeah... Zack: Cloud.. You know what I told you. Cloud: That's right.... I am your living legacy *Music Starts*
Just imagine hearing this music during a fantasy war of devils and angels fighting in between dimensions and at the same time across the galaxy calamities are happening because of this war. Black holes, meteors, natural disasters. While the piece of Angelic music is playing.
I love how the song appears to resolve, but then the part with the most tension comes back at the -end- of the song like "this verse will never be a memory"
Once I said, it would be so cool to bring back Sephiroth back since he was one of the most badest villains ever created. But then I saw Dragon Ball super and many other shows that tried to bring back old legends back to life. I am happy Sephiroth can live in our hearts as the best villain and no future production can mess things up. Long live to a dark king.
@George Saffos is kefkla is this conversation yeah he accomplish his goal but HE IS A CLOWN setharoth is a badass sword fighting sword villain with one wing and a alien mom
Actually, its basically the same movie. The only difference is that Advent Children Complete is longer with more scenes than the original Advent Children movie did. The same thing goes for the soundtrack :). Also, in Advent Children Complete, there's a bonus thing that tells Denzal's story ;)
+Reina Castillo There are two version of Advent Children. The original, released in 2005 and then Complete, released in 2009. This version of One Winged Angel is from Complete and not the original version.
It's because this is the COMPLETE version of One Winged Angel, from the COMPLETE advent children. The incomplete version has the other version of advent children one winged angel and I actually just found this version too lmao
Theme song when I enter work it’s a mad house on Thursdays full of families with their children graduating from basic training. I’m a cook and it’s disastrous but I made it out in one piece. Hangry people is no joke, my job is a little short staffed but we all did our part.
In Complete they extend the fight near the end where Cloud gets skewered by Sephiroth and I think they lower the volume of the music and make work better with the fact that it looks like Sephiroth is about to violently kill him, it's not supposed to be loud and triumphant as the OG one, it's supposed to invoke a feeling of dread because it looks like he's about to win.
