@@zerohero5753 Not necessarily, it might just be more of a pseudo-gatcha game. Not built to be microtransactiony but more just by it's mechanics more likely. Think about it this way. The characters were all wearing different outfits and weapons. What's to say those aren't just cosmetics you can purchase or earn in game? Either way I think this will be a fantastic game for anyone to play. Especially since it encompasses the ENTIRE FF7 series in your phone (including the movie AC which will be interesting to see that play out). That is nuts! I for one can't wait.

Of course It will have everything. They need to pad the game as much as possible since it's a freaking mobile game. It's basically Opera Omnia, but in FFVII form 🙄

it probably will eventually. the point is to capitalize on the market. They already have the FF7R games on console right now, as well as Crisis Core Reunion. im guessing they want to include mobile gaming into the FF7 hype. I can see it potentially having a digital release one day in a couple years or so

well first soldier was shit from the get go. SE realizes people want games, not mobile live services (not to mention their NFT's they are trapped with lol) they're trying so damn hard to make up their decline in sales over the years since they have been releasing shit lately. they know what must be done. that's why they are reinvigorating their old library; look at mana series, and the recently released live-a-live finally (officially) translated to english and released.

I wish their experience with First Soldier would have made them abandon the whole "phone only" idea and they could have developed it for ps and consoles instead.

@@MiBrCo4177 The whole problem with First Soldier is that many people want to play it on consoles but SE, for whatever reason, sticked with it being mobile only. They should have learned the lesson by now and make Ever Crisis playable in more platforms, not just mobile.

Nope, since this game is free and uses gacha system it will feature many visuals unlocked by using real money

"In store" being the operative term. It DOES look good, but this could be a gacha game sinkhole.

@@richp7234 the Famitsu article that dives into a lot of detail gets into the gacha portion being about the costumes for the characters which seems pretty typical.

@@PierceArner I can live with that. The strictly aesthetic stuff like costumes was never really anything I bothered with anyway.

@@richp7234 Exactly, cosmetic gatcha is by FAR the least egregious way to support Free-to-Play games. It often still has some slightly problematic things with the gambling and fomo stuff that can make it difficult for some people, but it's vastly preferable to any time characters or actual gameplay stuff are behind that gatcha barrier, which INSTANTLY makes it into a game I won't even touch. The one other thing about the Ever Crisis cosmetics outfits that they mentioned is that each one of them is themed to match to a different one of the character's weapons as the design inspiration. While we see that it changes both the more HD in-battle character model, it also changes the SD field models for the characters as well. It's neat to see that there's some good thought and effort behind it so far. The vast majority of the Famitsu article covers other content which all appears to be centered around single player stuff covering The First Soldier, FFVII, & Crisis Core, with the Before Crisis content apparently planned to be the first major post-launch update. Also, since there are three members in the party and you typically control one of them with the other two doing AI like Remake, there's a plan to eventually implement a way to do co-op with other players for certain types of missions or seasonal challenge events. The core of Ever Crisis is compiling all of the older FFVII & Compilation games into a format that is supposed to evoke the same feeling of the original FFVII, hence the blend of stylization, intentionally not including voice acting outside of the cinematics or combat, etc. Hopefully there'll be a good English translation of that information out soon so that there's a more broad awareness of what's in store (especially since they're hoping to officially launch fairly soon after the beta wraps up).

Don't forget switch! Crisis Core Renunion was so impressive!

it is confirmed that the gacha will only be for cosmetics, episodic releases are a given, but we should be able to complete the game without gacha

There will be no overworld, based on the beta play I saw, it would be a chapter/event based, you will go to just in the confine map, then it goes to the next chapter. however it would be accross all of the VII event, so though there's no world map to explore there will be a lot of content to enjoy

it's free to download but has that whole gacha system so i guess that's how they make sells and i guess for SOME reason more people play mobile games? i really don't understand this i mean i get that it's great to play games on the go but consoles and pc seem like the much better way to play games.

I love final fantasy with all my soul, but... once again, a turn-based game that's crap and lazy... I fell asleep in the first minute

All I can say is. For the weapon gacha system please follow DFFOO's path. Let it be f2p friendly. Damn just too excited to see more of Sephiroth's story.

​@@The_Gallowglass It's a turn based game, I don't see the problem of playing it on a phone, not much different than a switch. Personally I'm more worried about the monetisation of the game, mobile games tend do be more expensive on the long run

Possibly an early SOLDIER, between a time of a Young Sepheroth and a Crisis Core Sepheroth. Ever Crisis will be covering absolutely everything and then some, except for the Remake trilogy (but maybe even that, one day).
