As blown away as I was by this game, I fell irredeemably, hopelessly in love with it as I ran along the train tracks, characters battered and exhausted and low on supplies, with mountains towering in the background and the sun painting everything gold, with Aeris and the team cheering my name.

No joke, stood there on the mountain path leading up to Mt. Corel. when this was playing in the background and listened to the track for like 30 minutes.

Amazing that even with all of Shinra's destruction, there were things that they couldn't ruin, like a little bird on a cliff.

I can't put into words how deeply this game and its music has touched my soul. It fills my heart to know that there are so many others out there who feel the same way I do. Even though none of us have ever met, we are all bound together by this beautiful story. This unforgettable masterpiece...

Starts walking outside. Plays this song. The feels. My childhood. Thinks about Tifa. Cloud. Aeris. Barret. Red 13, Vincent, Yuffie...Cait Sith, Marlene, Zack, Sephiroth...everyone...Then I think about life, my purpose, my soul contracts...then the Promised Land. How beautiful it is...that I witnessed great beauty. Tears, laughter, sweat and emotions while playing the game. I think I'm beggining to understand...an answer from the planet...I can meet everyone Ive ever known, there.. :'(

never played final fantasy, and i think i will because music this good must belong in a great game. you're a genius!

This is my favourite composition from the game. You did an amazing job with the orchestration. Usually when people do these, some of the instrumentation sounds off, but this sounds exactly as it should.

I know this track means so much to so many. I've been here since the first Final Fantasy, back in the 80's... Uematsu could always capture not only the essence of the game, but (as did the other designers at Square) the spirit of the series as it progressed as well. I think this track, with it's contrasting sounds, captured the feel that the series had changed, and was changing, and that something was being left behind. This played out well in FFVII, but that feeling is brought out for the fans too, and calls out to their own individual experiences. That such a simple tune can "summon" your memories, regrets, and contemplations on what has changed is amazing. We each have different thoughts, experiences, and stories, but Uematsu's piece demonstrates we all are sharing something sacred.

This is a pretty fucking incredible arrangement... I'm pretty much going to HAVE to buy the album now.

Congratulations, Pontus, your arrangement of this piece has found its way into my elusive "special" folder on RU-vid...and in my heart as well.

This is by far the best version of this song that I've ever heard. It's beautiful beyond words.

I've been playing this game for over 10 years and even learned English while playing. This is the only game I would spend the next 10 years playing. A legendary and fantastic story to remember. After 24 years, I still have FF7 installed on my laptop :)

Superb. Richer. An enhancement on the midi-instruments of PS-1, but completely in keeping with the tone, pace and spirit of the original. Excellent instrumentation. A subtle and deft touch. Into the playlist it goes. A success, many remixes are hit or miss. This is a hit.

One thing i'm liking of this album is the selection of songs. I really like the ones you picked. Very well done man.

That guitar...simply amazing. I love this theme. And the orchestration over it...the flute, the horn, everything. Wow. Talk about a punch of nostalgia, right in the feels.

This might very well be my favorite song from this game. I was slightly (only slightly) disappointed today when I looked back at the game's version of it and realized it didn't quite express the feeling of its serene essence just quite as richly in the way I wanted to hear (though still really great and I still enjoy it the most in some ways). Your beautiful composition is very much appreciated.

Pontus Hultgren did the most amazing job with this entire remastering. Truly, truly wonderful work. I wish you had included a remaster of Cosmo Canyon, but everything, every note, was a treat to my ears.

Love this music but damn is it really frustrating to hear the final fantasy main theme play at the end of .... EVERY SONG on this playlist! It was good at the end of the first song, but there are what, 17 songs? You hear it 17 times.
