Think of it like this. If you could create a World where everyone lives Eternal, would you? That is basically Heaven. But what would you have to do to get everyone to Heaven?

Oh boy I really hope not... I've barely begun to recover from Aerith dying the first time. IMHO The new dawn of Remake could have been real, if only the heroes were aware enough to know what was actually going on, to orient choices to that. Instead they reacted to their surroundings (Robed Men; not that they had any other solutions). The exiting of the cave of illusion in Rebirth could be real, as the heroes know roughly why Sephiroth has been doing what he has (Reunion). We'll see how they grow at Journey's End. That's very interesting, I didn't know the French translation was so aligned to the original Japanese version. Thank you for watching and for the thoughts!

@dreamphoenix As for the English translation being less faithful to the Japanese dub, it is all over Twitter. Japanese people and people fluent in Japanese acknowledge this and kindly translate what the real meaning is for certain important words. I play in French and I saw with their translation that the French is more faithful. Apparently, German is more faithful too.

The level of awareness that Cloud has about his childhood defeating the purpose of the Tifa/lifestream scene from the OG. The bath of Tifa in the lifestream explaining maybe why she sees 2 images of Aerith passing. Blood no Blood. The girls working Cloud's memory (the awkward scene of Tifa in Nibelheim, the inaudible or unfinished talks all along the game) That green halo breaking Cloud free from the Whisper/jenova/Sephiroth influence Sephiroth on Cloud's back right from the start of the adventure when he barely remembers him at the beginning of OG ...

@@Foxheimer Those are some fantastic a-ha's! The affect of this journey being a sequel to FFVII is quite nuanced in Rebirth (whereas more overt in Remake). I also remain in wonder at why certain things were inaudible. Thank you very much for incites!

@@dreamphoenix The things that makes me think we may be in a sequel are not really in the game. If you created such a masterpiece 30 years ago would you like to replace it by a remake ? Or would you like to sacralize it ? So in 30 years it's still required to play it to get the full story of the FF7 universe. In remake we got those visions of the future especially at the end, the old audience knows what that means, but the new one ? Anyway by the end of the game those things are not going to happen because we defeated destiny. So both audiences start "The unknown journey" at the same level of awareness. With the end of Rebirth the old audience maybe upset because it's like the OG and not really an "Unknown Journey" while for the new audience it's still new. We can think that audience will be a little more privileged then. Not played. But why did they release, the year before, a remaster of a Prequel Game that spoils the background of the main character by revealing a big plot of an event not even addressed yet in the remake project (Nibelheim incident) ? And once finished (last screen in CC Reunion) invites you to continue the adventure in ... Final Fantasy 7 , not the Remake yet available. And then release a special version of a movie that is a sequel of the main story days before your second installment. Why now ? Why not with the 3rd part for the 30th anniversary ? So, what if they want the new and old audience to be aware of everything before part 3 for a major big twist. So the best moment of the OG are revisited in modern graphism but with it's own end making the OG still unique and important to play for the storytelling. Just thinking loud again lol

I feel terrible that I am part of a machine that first impacted artists and now devs. The idea of AI about a decade ago, was that repetitive jobs such as burger flipping, call centre operative, sign turning in construction, etc.; would be the first to go. Creativity was considered the hallowed domain of what it means to be human. Nearly the opposite has unfolded. Dev’s and artists are the first on the chopping block, though many call centres will be mostly AI likely by the end of this year. The only saving grace is, no vocation will go untouched by AI and robotics; some will be changed, some will become redundant (and disappear). Everyone will be impacted. This is bigger than the industrial or internet revolutions, with the closest horizon or endgame being the end of poverty, free education and medical services for everyone, etc. Companies like (name redacted… but most know who the big bad players are) using AI to replace artists (voice actors, actors, art design; the works) in the manner we are witnessing is abominable, in my humble and very emotional opinion. Fortunately many countries, including USA, are attempting to address this by forcing all AI companies’s to reveal the training data the AI’s learned from. Depending how lawsuits flow afterwards, this step won’t stop the revolution, but at least it will prevent all companies from directly profiting from an artist’s work and without the artist earning anything. Most of the big players in AI are on board for this kind of step. Sam Altman of OpenAI has said publicly that it's direly needed for people to be compensated for their work. My hope for the short term, is that companies will use voice actors for the main dialogue, and an AI trained on their voice (that the actor would be remunerated for) would be used to GenAI dialogue (off script dialogue; a ChatGPT powered NPC as example). Hopefully the enormous growing stigma surrounding companies using AI to reap additional profits at the expense of artists (whilst using the artists’ work), will show up in these companies bottom line; and they’ll be forced to consider alternate strategies.
