***** Do it to it. Haha. I just started playing piano (though, I have been playing music my whole life), and your cover with Sherry Kim of "To Zanarkand" REALLY made me start working harder at getting this instrument down. I guess you could say that you are a big inspiration to me, and I would really be interested in seeing a new version of it.
+kylelandry Please, could you ? I would like to hear fresh version of pirates of the Caribbean too!!! OH !! And Passion from Kingdom hearts II ! :D I'll be waiting ^^
After years and years this is still THE BEST piano performance I've ever seen. This made me start playing the piano a long time ago. Thank you for the wonderful video Kyle. Kind regards, J
Wth, I'm wearing those pajamas tonight. They are still just as comfortable. I have to say, for $10, bought at the White Mountains in NH when I was 17, not bad!
Actually, as he said in the description, he was 18 when he did this recording and he started playing at the age of 8, according to his website, so in this video, he only has about 10 years of experience.
It's hard to imagine this piece took 3 years, even for you Kyle. I picked it up when I was 13 (now 17) but up til now I've only managed to play through the first four pages - the last two pages are beast! I commend you and your playing abilities.
To think you were able to play this good back then and that you have improved your skills even more since is crazy. Just a quick scroll through your video history shows how far you've actually come in the past 7 years Kyle. Never stop playing!
You need more Final Fantasy music. Especially from crisis core. Under an apple tree, night of seclusion, a flower blooms in the slums, so much work you could do.
This song really makes the game. All of the battles are so much more enjoyable because of this song. I never got tired of fighting in FF7. Till this day I am always looking for Those Who Fight Further! Kyle Landry you are a living legend! This is such an amazing piece of work here!
This has always been my favourite video of yours. I remember watching it for the first time a few months after you posted it, 'cause I was obsessed with Advent Children back then. You're extremely talented and your work is mind blowing. It actually makes you want to learn how to play the piano.
I am currently trying to learn piano and every time i have trouble and stop for a while I come back and watch your videos then I plug my computer back in and start again. Just wanting you to know that you inspire everyone that watchs your videos. And I think everyone here can agree with that.
I love the fact that you play it at it's regular speed and it sounds just as great (if not better than) as it did in the movie. Please keep giving us pieces of your work for us to enjoy.
I thought I would record this song since I was pretty impressed at how good I was. I re-watched this to see if I should make any final adjustments and... yeah maybe another year of practice and I'll come back and try again. Thank you, Kyle, for ruining my day with such beautiful amazingness. Every video of you that I watch makes my jaw hurt from constantly being in dumbstruck awe.
Holy canolli! I've seen a lot of videos of people playing tatakau monotachi... Nobody ever came close to being as good as that! This going into my favs and i'm subscribing!!!
wow..... is all I can say, I'm literally speechless after hearing that AND seeing it, how can you do this?! this is really amazing...seriously my fingers are probably jealous of yours. this has to be the best piano cover of this song in the whole entire world! Loved every second of it!
I find myself on your playlists because I want gorgeous background music, but I can never minimize the page and before I know it I've been staring at you play for the entire song and not gotten any work done. You are so talented...
wow..... is all I can say, I'm literally speechless after hearing that AND seeing it, how can you do this?! this is really amazing...seriously my fingers are probably jealous of yours. LOVED IT!
I think a lot of your fans, including myself, would love to see a remake of Those Who Fight in the future, as it is an amazing piece of music. The improvement you've made from then to now will surely make it even more amazing than it is right now. :)
Awesome! played with more feeling than in the piano collections original. Personally, I find that the amount of notes in this piece is just insane... Respect
I consider you one of the best piano players on here, that i've come across. You actually hear the melody of the music and play it the way it was created. That's what people are going to like in music!!! A good beat and keeping the tempo at a certain rate" Instead of slowing down and speeding up a lot" 34 people must obviously not understand that.
Been visiting this video form probably 10 years and just now thought to hit that like button after probably 20 viewings. My bad Kyle. Just came her after watching your Grand Piano Rerecording. Have to say I still prefer this one. I'm sure its better for you on the grand but the sound comes through cleaner on this recording and it just feels like it has more heart in it. Probably from you living with this song day and night to learn it all those years ago. I promise you at least another 20 views from me. P.S always loved the sheet music taped to the window
Excellent Good Time right keys and sounds amazing. great job :) haven't seen this song done this good in a long time Congrats on a vary well played piece.
Kyle, I have to say you really have grown as a pianists. I'm so glad I have followed you all these years and even got to talk with some on your website. I actually had to withdraw from my piano degree due to financial aid being a pain.. kind of bothers me not getting up practicing every morning anymore. My only problem now is that I have no idea what I should play and master now.
I don't understand how anyone could even click 'dislike' on this... It doesn't matter even if you hate the game, or the Final Fantasy series. This is just perfection at it's finest. There's the giant layer of respect just for the amount of talent, he has. Thank you, Kyle.
I really like your interpretation. It's one of the most faithful with correct tempo in youtube. I am still learning the song. About 1/3 in progress. Hopefully I can play with such precise tempo soon :) Btw, your digital piano sound FTW
I'm learning this piece right now, and it's hard as holy hell. xD The octave trills are really hard to get consistent. This is my favorite of your videos Kyle; thanks for playing such great music. :D
My fave live piece in all of youtube. Maybe the best video game music ever written. Ive had to of heard 50 hours of it and yet I crave more ? And this rendition ? Ugh... Play on good sir. Play on...
One of the greatest performances I've seen on this piece, even though there were a couple of mistakes. Keep it up! I firmly believe that Nobuo Uematsu is God and Seiji Honda is his right hand, there's no other explanation to their compositions xD
This... My god, this is the song that's played in the back of my head since I was about 14 or so, and spent nearly every waking moment out of school trying to beat that game. Wonderful.
Some years ago, I watched the old-account version of this perhaps 10 times a day. It was my favourite thing ever. And then today I remembered it; spent forever looking for it, knowing the account name had a bunch of numbers. Memory served right! Still my favourite thing ever: you win at life, dude (did you improve? I think you did!). Ah... old times.
this piece has a very detatched feel to it making it hard to see the mistakes. though it took me a lot f time to notice them. i listen to this quite often and one day i decided to bang it out on my piano and i noticed there are only two mess ups in this video. i wish i could play it half as good as kyle landry. i have been working on this for a ittle over a month now and i cant get three measures in without accidentally hitting an extra note. i tip my hat to you sir!! i admire all of your videos
