I just noticed the video surpassed the 10k views threshold. This makes it by far my most viewed video. I am pleased to see you all apparently enjoy my little Renzokuken Compilation. I certainly never expected for it to become this popular. So all I can really say is: Thank you!
Damn, I never realized the small details once I saw your video of it. Like how he landed the final blow on Bahamut by bouncing off his snout toss, how he hit a riposte by dodging the Ultima Weapon sword swing, and mimicked the Jumbo Cactuar's frame-like movement in his hits. Good stuff.
The Bahamut one in general is awesome. It's very calculated, he goes for head, left wing, head again, right wing, head and finally a BIG hit to the head. Or the Ultimecia/Griever one where he starts off with a *stab to the face*
I wish the rest of the entries in the FF series would make more custom limit break animations. FF VIII was really ahead of its time with these animations.
Love the video! I played FF8 many times myself but never noticed the little details (like Ultima Weapon trying to counterattack during Renzokuken) because I was too busy focusing on the trigger button lol
Squall is a masterswordsman indeed. Speed, techniques, and power... He has it all. Imagine him having the "break damage limit" to 99999 points of damage. 8 hits Renzokuken + 16 (17 maybe) hits of Lionheart = demise of any boss in FF game
at low level he can, with boosted stats & high enough crisis level one round of renzokuken + lion heart even takes down omega though break damage limit does appear in VIII, but only from Eden and Shockwave Pulsar :(
Wow, remastered looks good! Love how he attacks while jumping here and there too, looks realistic. Also love how you chronologically put the boss fights there, like we are growing together with the character
I'll be honest, i never knew there were variations and i've beat this game like 5 times. Probably because my eyes are glued to the "Trigger" lol. Its so satisfying
I love how Squall attack differently with Renzokuken on each boss. Jumping everywhere Makes it 10x more cool. Beating them like a rag doll. Stayed up all night long playing this game. Good times. Love the card games. Love the soundtrack. Love the mini movie scene. So much things to love in this game.
Awesome to see these again. Such amazing attention to detail. I wish a few more bosses had unique Renzos. Against Cerberus, Squall could go head by head taking him out while dodging the other mouths. Against Seifer, Squall could incorporate some moves from the opening FMV, and Seifer could slash down with Squall dodging and retaliating with the same upward slash at the end. He could hop up on BGH251F2 and chop it into scrap, part by part. It would have been awesome to see him able to move back and forth between two enemies, like the Brothers, Biggs and Wedge, and Fujin and Raijin. Still, the unique ones in the game are totally unnecessary but are a sign of a dedicated team of developers.
Just realized that in Advent Children during the Sin Bahamut fight, at the climax Cloud performs a move very similar to Squall's Renzokuken v XATM092. Neat
wow didnt realize the limit breaks - rough divide, blasting zone, fated circle, lion heart - are based on how many hits you get during renzokuken. Thanks for this compilation, very well done indeed and enjoyable
Thank you! The Finisher is not linked to how many hits Squall performs during the first half of Renzokuken. They both work individually and mainly depend on how "desperate" the situation is (e.g. low HP, negative statuses, number of dead characters etc.) - basically the worse the situation, the higher the chance to get more hits and performing a Finisher. For a detailed rundown I would suggest checking out the Final Fantasy Wiki. Just search for "Crisis Level" and "Renzokuken".
Does anyone know why they didn't use the same animation for Omega Weapon as Ultima Weapon? Both enemies are the same type; I don't know why Omega Weapon has the generic Renzokuken animation and not the unique animation of Ultima Weapon...
I don't think there is a definitive answer as to why that's the case. Notice that the same is true for Bahamut and Tiamat: Bahamut has a special Renzo, Tiamat has none, albeit sharing the same model. There is another Renzokuken compilation video on RU-vid, which uses the Ultima Weapon / Bahamut Renzo animation for Omega Weapon / Tiamat (probably accomplished through cheat codes, hacking or the like). Both work completely fine, although Omega's looks a little strange, since Squall still dodges the sword slash.
Nope. No chance of that happening. You get drops from enemies first found in mid disc 1 and the highest end irvine ammo with the refining ability you get late disc 1
Can I request you to make a video of All magics spell but in TRIPLED effect? I casted it along time ago and the effect is awesome. No one ever done it. Usually easier when using Selphie's Limit Break Slot, FIRE 3 TIMES, BLIZZARD 3 Times and so on. FF VIII MAGIC FURY!
I hate the graphics for the remake.....the blurry/distorted face works best for this game The remake makes everyone-especially squall-look like fruit cups
