"Matoya's Cave" (マトーヤの洞窟, Matōya no Dōkutsu?) is a prominent background theme from the original Final Fantasy. It was composed by Nobuo Uematsu and has received several arrangements. This 2-track violin cover draws inspiration mainly from the Final Fantasy Origins version of the theme.
The theme first appeared in the original Final Fantasy (and its subsequent remakes, most recently the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster). It plays in Mount Duergar, the Sage's Cave, the Cavern of Ice, the Dragon Caves, and the Waterfall Cavern locations. It is also heard in later Final Fantasy titles, including FF14, FF15, Dissidia 012, Dissidia NT and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. In Theatrhythm, the tune is described as "One of the dungeon themes from the original FF. The surprisingly cheerful melody thrills with the promise of great adventure. It is still a fan favorite today."
There are many other covers of this theme as well, most notably in the Symphonic Suite Final Fantasy, in the Black Mages II: Skies Above album, the Guitar Solo Final Fantasy Official Best Collection and Piano Opera Final Fantasy I/II/III
