Final Fantasy XIV - Primal Battle: THORNMARCH EXTREME Guide 

When your party leave before even trying you know its a hard one, all i said was "this is my first time" and then someone else says "me too" and then everyone left

In case you just want to be familiar with king moogle attendants (like me) 1. PLD : Whiskerwall 2. WAR : Ruffletuft 3. WHM : Furryfoot 4. BLM : Pukla 5. BRD : Puksi 6. Thief : Pukna 7. Ranger : Wollywart

how the fuck did people figue the strategy of these primal battles when they played this for the VERY first time? how thick was the playthrough book? Final Fantasy XIV is pretty much the Hideo Kojima of this mmo game. (and i'm still lost lol).

Good god, lol I officially found the event I never want to be apart of.

did it today with a random party. its really not that hard if ur party isnt the worst. u simply have to watch out for the following: 1. one tank pulls the king and ruffletuft, the other pulls whiskerwall 2. now dd all mini moogle to about 5-10% health. as soon as one dies, the king will heal all of them to full health so its important that every single mini moogle is at 5-10% (the king uses his own health to heal the mini moogles, so the more dmg alle the mini googles have taken before one dies, the more health the king has to use to heal the moogles). as soon as u've got that, kill the mini moogles. its not important that every single one dies. 3. repeat that until the meteor hits (probably have to do it 2 times) 4. now its the final phase: just repeat the same thing. its really really important that not a single moogle dies. cause as soon as one dies, the king will start casting a full party wipe. so get all of the moogles to 5-10% percent again, then burn all of them. now nuke the boss before he casts the wipe (use dps limit break if possible). 5. done

A stupid-looking, unimposing boss? Check. A very gimmicky encounter that barely consists of fighting the boss itself? Check. A fuckload of annoying as hell adds? CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK.

My statics Healers refuse to run this anymore, we got it down like 3 times, and that was enough for our Scholar to say "NO MORE, OR I'M OUT.", and our White Mage to tell us to go to hell haha.

Great video guide, but on the real, this trial sucks so bad. It sits, still unbeaten, in my quest list and leers at me like a taunting jester. I've sat through a good 13 hours collectively in que for this abomination of a boss battle, only to have VOTE ABANDON pop on my screen after two or three failed attempts. Or the lovely, 'Fuck this', 'You all suck', or 'Good luck with that', before a rage quit and eventual party collapse. I've never had as much difficulty with a Primal, Raid, or Dungeon (including Bahamut) as I have had with the Good King Moggle Mog. The fight itself is easy enough when broken down, and mapped out like this guide shows, but it's a lot different when you're in the middle of a swirling sea of colors, sounds, moggles, and other players running around either not knowing what to do, or knowing exactly what to do and making it very well know in the chat box about how ashamed the rest of us should be of ourselves. Damn you, Good King, and damn me for being such a completionist that I will continue to wait, and wait, and WAIT in que only to end up back where I started.

After this battle listening to the moggle theme always traumatized me.

People will kick you from this primal simply for having the bonus tomestones. It's rather offensive.

I could not be more confused, does one tank take BOTH the moogle tanks while the other tank takes the king and then switch? Or does each tank take ONE moogle tank and take turns also tanking the king?

Basicaly this is a pain in the ass for Tanks and DPS healers only have to dodge and heal (phew good thing i'm a healer ._. )

Man seeing the comments I feel blessed to have completed it as a noob queuing up on duty finder with a group of at least 3 other newbies. Only took us 4 tries lol guides are the way to go

This is the first extreme I unlocked and I'm now really thankful I decided to look up what it's like compared to the Hard version I did right before (which was a piece of cake). Holy moly this looks a lot more crazy and hectic than anything else I've done so far! Looks fun though, even if I imagine it probably has long queues given the lack of good drops.

Did this last night in a pug. Took 35 minutes to do, and my co healer dipped after the first failed attempt

This is a well-designed fight that isn't a dance. People should be clamoring for more fights like it. The only regretable thing is that even when it was current, it only dropped necks - which, while good, isn't quite good enough for its difficulty.

If you get this fight in modern days due to mentor roulette or whatever, you can probably beat the fight without seeing many combination attacks or even having to tank swap.

I may be wrong, but I kinda have a feeling after watching this guide that Mizzteq possibly doesn't like moogles.

I did this with a bunch of randoms just now. We didn't win but man oh man! It was the most positive, most energetic team ever! But too bad I'm on free trial and they are on other worlds. Once i sub, I'll definitely seek them out.

This seems easy to understand, but if you tunnel vision as much as I do it's certain death.

4 years on; this fight is still one of the best-designed fights. I enjoy that it is not a choreographed dance.

Your video helped me organized complete strangers and take down the Moogle king...(even though its 5 years later) it was a great feeling of accomplishment!

So I'm looking this up because this and Garuda Extreme are the first high-end duties I've opened and I'm thinking, I've done pretty well up until now, I should probably get on that. Now I'm thinking I'd probably rather drink bleach than try this thing on Duty Finder with randos. Guess it's time to look into FCs...

I do disagree as far as hardest fight, as long as you have good dps and healers that dont tunnel vision you're straight, and its totally doable via df.. But i luv all your guides and you are usually my go to

Slapping around moogles... The good news is, you CAN win this fight. The bad news is, you're DEFFINTELY going to hell for this.

How on earth did people figure out the mechanics for this fight when they first did it?! The game never explains ANY of them to you! How on earth would they have had the patience for this?! I would have quit!

I just did this event last night. Blind. As a tank. Needless to say we wiped about 6 times. Thank God the other tank was kind enough to explain what I needed to be doing and we managed to win just as Memento was 95% charged. 10/10 never doing again. XD

Few mins ago I did this one. We wiped so many times, we lost one tank(I was the other), then we wiped another few times but eventualy we did it, we killed this bastard king. It felt so good. To be honest tank has easiest job here. Thank you for these guides.

I used to main tank during Wrath of the Lich King on WoW. It's considered one of the hardest current content fights of WoW. The Lich King fight looks like child's play compared to this horrible...horrible mess.

Tried this fight as my first Real ex trial oh my gosh what an adventure of the fight, we didn't make it, our best shot got him to 1% before the king blew us up

Did this with a random party finder group not realising I hadn't tried the extreme version before, it took quite a few tries and we only had like 14 mins left in the end but we did it! I couldn't understand much of what the group was saying because I don't speak much Japanese but I know they didn't address me directly more than once so it worked out :3

Just passed it! Thank the heavens for an amazing Tank Tomoko that numbered everything and DPS doing everything right. Made all the difference.

Coil 5 is still harder with that stupid Dive Bomb shit. This fight was easy. But good guide as per usual.

NOTHING HURTS AS MUCH AS GETTING DOWN TO ONE MOGGLE ON THE LAST PHASE AND KING USES METEOR. Oh yeah, and if you have three Moogles on you, they can use their insta skill simultaneously and insta kill any tanks.

7yo guide and still usefull for 6.0 xD. I started FFXIV 150h ago and this was the first fight I saw real salt. Toxic players blaming everyone, healer anxiety because people were scared of getting close to Eos for some reason and co healer decided to DC. We wasted the 45 minutes 😂

It doesn't look like an extremely hard fight if people know what they're doing and you don't hear a new player saying I didn't watch the video. It takes my DRG only two hits on the BLM and WHM to stop them from casting Flare and Cure. I just more notice that tanks aren't often watching those stacks however and the healers tend not to understand the buff and debuff patterns.

I just queued in here because in the past I wasn't bothered to do this fight. And we died 10 times because people just did not understand the mechanics. Some of which aren't mentioned in this video kind of surprised but anyway whatever. People just didn't know which mog to run to during flare or holy. Never worked out.

You were correct the first time. It is the king that does the mp drain. The pld and mrd do a cone debuff, which is why you cant tank both of them with 1 tank. The debuff buffs the dmg of the other tank moogle. I think they are light and dark. Also the dmg up ability on the tank moogles is the hate reset. King moogles hate is a lot like the plume you need tank swap in Garuda ex. So you just need to provoke him and he will stay on you the whole time. You don't need to combo on him and etc.

Just tried this last night after beating titan extreme after like 20 wipes. Literally spent the entire duty time limit trying to beat this fucking guy and we eventually had to abandon it. Just a mix of not knowing what to do and people not being clear on how the fight was supposed to go down. I was told to just focus on the black mage since he was the only one who would wipe the party. So I just kept killing him. (I was told you could kill moggles as many times you want before the first mog meteor) Basically we only did the 10% thing at the END of the fight. Everytime we did the king was always at like half or a little below half health with half of memento moogle already cast. Pretty much impossible lolol

9 years later and this fight is still not ok synced.

So why can't one tank just take the king, and the other take both the smaller moogles, rather than having to lookout for the buff from the king and have to taunt off?

If you a new like me and do it in first time. Dont be scared by this video! This fight is so much easier now than 5 years ago. We do it yesterday on 3rd pull with pugs. We killed all cat twice in like 2 minutes but it takes much longer time on last killing cat phase. But then LB and after 5 second he dead. No one of us knew what actually was happening but we did it. I was OT on adds

Thanks for guide. First in Thornmarch extreme with random players, and we fucking did it. We also died at like 0.2% king but we still manage it hahaha, what a feeling... I will never go there again.

To be honest, I do not think this fight will be that difficult. It does require a good amount of attention, but all and all. The fight is stay out of stuff, don't let certain moogles get buffed, coordinate dps, and know the phases. The hardest part quite honestly will be controlling the buffs unless you have dps that are silly enough to kill a moogle too soon.

this fight may be stupid, but his whiskers are extremely valuable on MB, especially on the Faerie server, lol.

I haven't attempted this yet, but it looks hectic as hell. You know the development team is having a good laugh at making the most adorable trial also the most difficult. :)

Also incase people dont know when the pld does his charm ability, if your a healer and you get charmed with good timing you can esuna/leech yourself free. Its what i do in that fight now to make sure that at least one person(myself) doesnt take any damage from poison, i also inform the other healer to make sure to not worry about me so hopefully he can esuna/leech someone before they touch the poison.
