@@LunaPPK He seemed to be somewhere around the the equivalent of Alphinaud's age, maybe a tad older--somewhere in the late teens range. Not fully grown physically, but culturally, old enough to be considered a legal adult by some standards (Amaurot's included maybe?). People talk about him like he was a young child (which he wasnt), but he certainly was still on the young side and naive, taking a burden that should have never had to have been his to bear
Watching Elidibus slowly loose himself in the 'role' of the warrior of light was...heart wrenching. He was more our mirror then anyone else, what we could have become if not for our friends. also watching this still hurts so much
The rains have ceased, and we have been graced with another beautiful day. But you are nto here to see it. * *FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS* *
I was curious how this sounded in English because I play in Japanese. Elidibus' final moments are a bit different in Japanese, but no less impactful. Rough translation: These are... Aah, that's right... I believed that were I to become Zodiark, I'd be able to save everyone. However, even afterwards I could hear their laments. There were a lot of differing opinions about how to tend the world. This was a rare occurrence. Everyone in the convocation were worried. "Thus I must be Elidibus, and lend my hand", I thought, and so I fell away from Zodiark. Truly, I loved them. I believed that once my duty had been completed, I'd get to see them again... Their smiles, beaming at me. That I should be the last one left... I guess it couldn't be helped...
Having finished Shadowbringers last month, and halfway through Endwalker I do have to say this is still probably one of my favorite moments in all the MSQ. In my near 560 hours of playtime, this scene, this fight and this exchange with the Last of the Unsundered is just so powerful and poignant. Elidibus is this perfect mirror for who we are as the WOL, he just forgot what he was fighting for…
Having the lyrics of "Who brings shadow" fade away in a gasp as Elidibus dies and the gitar losing tempo is PEAK MUSIC EDITING and we're not talking about it enough
thank you for recording this from the points you did. rewatching this today makes me want to play Shadowbringers from the beginning again. so damn good.
even after endwalker i think this is my favourite trial, and also the hypest. the final trial of EW is really good but... there's a certain magic to SoS that wasn't captured in EW's final trial maybe its the fact to the edge could've been sokens final work, maybe its how i felt during the course of shb's. maybe its even how hype fighting *the* warrior of fucking light is. but there's just magic to this fight
To The Edge probably helped a lot, considering Endsinger just had a mashup of random boss songs in the first half, and a 1 minute loop at the end. TTE told the story and the struggle of a hero ready to fight til the bitter end for his people. Endsingers' themes both fail to capture anything of the despair she was fighting for. It also helps that SoS was a legitimately hard battle for a MSQ trial. Even now, you have people regularly wiping due to various factors in the fight. Especially the QTE which is a bit cheap considering one bad player is instant death there. Endsinger has a bit of neat stuff with the planets, but they could've done way more. Maybe a burnt planet that erupts pillars of flame, or a poisoned planet that makes everyone take DoTs, which is still very rare for raidwides to do. Something to convey all the ways a world can die, how precarious life is between allcof them. But, instead what we got just felt kind of rushed. Like they didn't have enough time, for the part of the expansion they should've been putting the most resources into.
rockinpenguin it actually is easy, you can spam it pretty slow like 4 times per second and it will still pass. The game just decreases the bar to the end quickly then stops the bar. After it gets to a point the game makes it easy, but it's just a mind trick. If you're hardcore though you mash the whole keyboard and lose non of the bar! XD
There arent many that actually do though. Elidibus (in his primal form here, and his original unsundered form) is one of the rare few who do. Many male viera almost do (though it's literally a lore point that until puberty it's impossible to distinguish males from females, and once the tribes can identify males, they're kicked out). Hythlodaeus does (though he literally uses male viera assets). And maybe Zenos? There are some that would be considered "pretty boys", but most dont exactly look like women
