To the audience, I encourage them performing the kata like she did, they will be amazed at how difficul it might turn. Beautiful Kata, Beautiful Girl, Beautiful Performance. OSU!
I do not follow Japanese Karate but, I can see the value in focus, concentrated moves, snap combination punches and kicks, clear stances all the way around. Excellent katas by both competitors requiring many hours of practice and complete dedication. Much respect.
gojushiho is a traditional kata which require power and stability of your mind the french girl had kime but lost it in the 19 movement where lost. but she is a good karateka we should wacht her in the coming championship
this is the first time I saw this girl. she's good . I saw her opponent many times but never took time to check our sandy. I wondered if she used savate influences in her kata. this is very good. her hand speed is outstanding.
This is a beautiful kata and she performed it beautifully except for a couple flaws due to imbalance, Usami-san's performance on the other hand was flawless.
I agree. And to an extend I consider it disrespectful, if the audience practices the art. Regardless of that, all that cheering is a really big test for any competitor. In my personal opinion, a major part of kata is to maintain focus, no matter what. It is the first time I saw this competitor, but I admired her right after she did that "mistake". Instead of feeling disappointed and lose focus, she looked even more determined to perform her best. Big respect for that
Yes it is actually an error of ignorance and educational for public French which does not know the rules(rulers) of courtesy of the karate (or other Japanese martial arts) and it is sad. Beautiful performance for the french even if she lose.
A crowd of day trippers most of who's only knowledge of martial arts is probably seeing Jackie Chan movies. Anyone who has done any kata to any level knows that total concentration is required. The french crowd were struggling to manage to control themselves for one of their own and didn't even attempt to for the Japanese girl who won the gold. Bad sportsmanship, sheer ignorance or both? You decide. 🏴🇬🇧
I don't get it, I would expect especially for kata's that everbody should be quiet. The event organizers really should deal with that, and the pump up music in between doesn't help either. Expecially not for the final
Rika's japanese training cannot be matched I have checked out various schools in Japan from karate to kendo they are so focused no one talks or jokes around very serious business but this girl is good
its crazy how on another level the Japanese are ...this lady is not bad by no means at all but you can tell that the Japanese are totally on another level when it comes to Karate
It was nice, but she kept fixing over her moves- that is she kept fixing them at the last instant, and as she walked she kept going up. She's pretty good though
Her kime sounds like she is a snake. This is a reason my performance "was not good" and judges said that. That's why I do kata like Rika now. No kime, just pure techinque, strenght and sound of kimono. I am disappointed because that was chapionship of Croatia😂
