Final Hours / The Last Day - TLOZ: Majora's Mask Synthwave Remix

I really like the concept of some gameplay together with this remix. I've never played Majora's mask (I did play other TLOZ games) but I love seeing some of the game. I also think the scenes were chosen well, they were interesting because they conveyed parts of the story. Furthermore, even if I have never heard the original, this remix sounds good!

Chillboy, this is such a gorgeous and powerful remix! I've been listening to it often since you posted it, and it's one of my favorite tracks in Majora's Mask. I feel there are far too few remixes of Final Hours/Last End, and I was so thrilled to see this in my notifications! :D The instrumentation here really takes the atmosphere to a new level. I love the use of toned-down, warm synths for the chords, and in tandem with the bouncy saw synths, they really create a great variety of textures. I also love that pitch bend on the onset of each note in the opening sections - it adds a whole lot of character to that instrument! And my goodness, that synth at 1:55 has such an ethereal sound - it's hazy and a bit dystopian-sounding, which is just perfect for the kind of soundscape you've created. And that rolling bassline keeps things moving and ties it all together quite nicely. Your percussive elements here are as good as ever! The use of frequent drums fills and rhythmic mix-ups really keeps the beat interesting and varied throughout, and I like that added hi hat roll right at 3:27 - it's little percussive details like that which really add a lot of color to the piece. And speaking of color, the SFX are masterfully integrated here, from that filtered-down Skull Kid laugh at 1:13 (which made for an awesome transition, by the way), to those Reverse Song of Time clock ticks at 3:23, to that ominous Clock Tower bell toll at 3:52 - the selection and timing of those clips is perfect! Excellent presentation, with the gameplay and color-shift effect, as well! It feels like such a surreal scene and fits the sound style of the music really well! This is definitely a new favorite of mine, and I know it's a song I'll keep coming back to. Keep up the great work! 🌕
