The ground that not only Chastain made up on that last lap, but Bowman staying on him too was so impressive. Three cars going for a win. What a race. This track makes for some incredible racing. This new car makes for some incredible racing. What a race!
Real man with talent in this final lap was Bowman. He was about to capitalize on Ross and AJs feud and even when it turned sour he managed to keep it on the track and came smokin (literally) across the line in second. Hats off to Chastain too for the win.
Who else is here after Chastain rode the wall at Martinsville? I became a fan earlier this year... and I think Ross will be my new #1 once Harvick retires.
I have been watching NASCAR for 30 years. That might possibly be one of the best last two laps of a race anyone has ever driven. The move on the restart with two to go and then the maneuver coming to the end. What a finish. Great job Ross!
BOWMAN AGAIN , 2 days in a row was the best car./truck AND WAS GOING to win both. But due to others he didn't win either. But IMHO he was the best of all the truck racers and Cup racers today. And he should of won , 2 times this weekend. Amd im sick of NOONE ever giving him the credit he deserves.
Ppl can say what they want but I'm very impressed with Bowman and what he's accomplished thus far. True 48 style. The guy is on it and yet most don't even recognize him. Of course I still pull for that 48 even though JJ is not in it. Dude the graphics are super sick. Love that car.
Bowman nearly backed in to that one! 😂 Congrats to Chastain and Trackhouse but I would have loved to see Bowman win just for the Kyle Busch interview afterward ha
NO BULLSHIT. Bowman out drove them , if he would of won it was 100% skill and IMHO he deserved to win BOTH races this weekend, he was better than Bush in the truck race and he out drove both of them in the last lap today. He deserved to win this race. And it was Not because he backed into a win. He was Legit today. And almost Shocked the world , missed it by 3 feet , oh well hopefully he starts getting the credit he deserves. , remember Dale Jr picked him for a reason, and JJ he is that good !!!!
@@Tow_Sr. agreed. I only said that because of what Busch said a couple weeks ago. I’m a huge Hendrick fan and think Bowman is great but he did drive in waaaaay to deep in the truck race which was unnecessary. Same exact thing he did to Hamlin at Martinsville except this time he ruined 2 drivers days and didn’t come out with the win.
@@andrewplassman4556 agree. JUST A LITTLE. he drive in deep just because he was on the inside. His angle was shite. But he was Better than both trucks. If he got a better restart he easily wins the truck race. And today he outdrove both of them , he got slammed , or he would be 2 for 2. And the world would FINALLY give this young man the credit he deserves. IMHO
@@andrewplassman4556 as far as Hamlin, he was Hounding him for 20 laps. 1 inch off him , and he finally had to push it 1 foot farther, there was only 1 lap left. And he had the best car. He just needed to be in front. And IMHO denny cried about it and spin himself out. Rather than gathered it up and accepted a 2nd. He mad smashed the gas. Imna short track racer. I know , if you want to spin. Its really easy .
@@Tow_Sr. Just no. Bowman was 0 for 2, no coulda, woulda, shoulda fanboy fantasy logic changes the fact that he really was not as close, or faultless, in not winning.
Great hard race from bowman,Allmendinger and chastain. But chastian wanted it more and got it. As a Kyle Busch fan. I’m happy that chastain got his first win!!
Great Finish! I believe allmendinger accidentally shifted into 3rd gear going into the sweeping right handers and so when he got on the power again it didn't have the acceleration to get the run out, which backed him up into chastain and made it look like bowman got a great run out of it. If allmendinger stayed in second, I think the outcome could have been different.
@@koreyensing1834 It wasn’t a bump and run. Watch AJ’s onboard. Ross stayed on the power and pushed AJ through the breaking zone and into the 48. That’s my issue with it he intentionally wreaked AJ.
Yeah it actually pissed me off. Just because he laughed to NOT give Alex Bowman the Credit he deserved for being the most skilled in the last 2 laps of today's race. If Ross didn't Dive bomb thim. He wins , and if it wasn't for Friesen yesterday he wins 2 ina row. Imho thats skill . BUT Tony didn't want to give him credit, they just laughed, as if it was a joke rather than wow look how good Bowman is. !!!!! Not a mention of his name in any of that last lap Match. Like WTF. Jealously I guess !!!!
This was the 3rd best finish I’ve ever seen in NASCAR history! Ross chastain will be a championship threat this season so if I was a driver I would be afraid of the watermelon man! Also good job Justin marks and track house for dominating todays race with chastain and Suarez for leading laps! Fox said 2021 was the best season ever, well this season is the beast season ever!!!!
Imagine actually having to actually overtake in a clean manner to gain positions. If you’re going to allow shit like that, why bother with the first two hours of the race in the first place? Just trim out the fat and have progressive 3 lap mini races with all out brawls to the finish and call it demolition racing.
People complaining on twitter that this wasn't fair; Allmendinger shoved chastain out of the way to secure a spot, and chastain did the same back. The difference was Bowman was there to collect Allmendinger instead of having run-off space. I think the Intimidator would have been happy to see these two guys racing this hard for the win.
@@Bload72productions ya I'm a old school racing fan I like betting and banging and if someone turns you you turn them back. But I also like good close finish racing
@@YetiRCno he is 100% right that would’ve had the same result as when AJ did it however while he was regaining control he made contact with bowman causing him to completely spin
AJ pushed Ross off track first. Ross just returned the favor. Had the 48 not been on the outside, AJ would not have spun out. Just hard racing. Don’t complain when someone pushes you if you moved them the same way.
Great comments by Stewart and Bowyer, agreeing with the move. Lol, what a couple of hypocrites. Them two, especially Tony, if he was Dinger, woulda lost their 💩. Do I agree you rough him a little since AJ did him, yes, do I agree you just keep hitting him until he spins, no. And if no Bowman, that coulda been way more interesting. Leave the door open knowing he’s going to get you, let him by, and then dump him. Because hey, everyone is all giddy about it anyway. Kinda sad that’s the acceptable norm. But it’s good for NASCAR and the “fans”.
Chastain only bumped him once the only reason it looked like he did more then that was because AJ had such a tough time regaining control of such a shit car
@@kyleraymer5581 idk man it kinda looked like the 16 was blocking/way slower then the 1 through that section. And after the contact it really looked like allmendinger would’ve just missed the turn and not wrecked if the 48 wasn’t there
Exactly, big difference between a bump and run (which I'm already not a fan of) and just absolutely dumping someone. Can't believe so many believe this is good road course racing...
@@beekay2186 Either way he had his whole back end lifted up trying to dump AJ from the looks of it. Personally I think it's good hard racing and see it as ok, but it was for sure more than what AJ did.
AJ took turn 15 really shallow to get inside and move Ross. Ross was much faster than AJ coming to 19, and AJ tried to block him. Ross had every right to do what he did. Shame for Bowman because I think he would have won the race if it was just him and Ross up front. I love AJ and he is the best road racer of the 3, but he just didn't have the car to get off the corners like the 1 and 48. The 16 and 48 outbroke Ross in the hard braking zones, but he was able to put the power down faster than any of them. Well deserved Ross. His success and electricity is massive for the sport. And hats off to Alex, he was flying. Great road racer, probably underrated in this regard. I hope AJ gets another Cup win soon. Maybe Watkins Glen!
