Non-contact karate is the most senseless sport ever.

Kumite use to be very aggressive, full of techniques and powerful attacks but yet maintain face control. Nowadays so boring to watch....Just look for Kumite year from year 2003 below, awesome fights. I guess trying to move to Olympics made Kumite soft.

I landed here because a friend posted on FB that he's a "Kumite Karate" fighter. I have just become graduado in Capoeira. What I see here is extremely boring - looking at it from the Capoeira perspective, where fighting means either no contact at all, but lots of acrobatics, or full combat. This here is neither of both.
