I just realized that it's been like 8 years since the very beginning where I watched your Atlantic crossing. I can't believe it's been that long. I've always enjoyed your travels, and projects, but I have to admit I've always hoped that you would find an easier life. Sea life on a wooden boat, or camper life in a vintage vehicle always seemed like an uphill battle of maintenance and repair. Good luck with the new property!

I came across your channel fairly late but was quickly drawn in by the mix of sailing wooden boats, woodworking/boat repair & projects, music, Maine locales, dogs and the overall sense of adventure combined with a sense of living without every modern expensive convenience. Something I aspire to, but rarely achieve! I will miss your channel although I hope to see the occasional posting about your work on your homestead and maybe our paths will cross because I believe we are somewhat neighbors in this part of Maine.

Well I will admit when I bought my sailboat in 2013 I found your channel and many many others. By the end of 2017 I was done with it -(regrettably). I slowly deleted every single sailing channel I subscribed to. I never wanted to stop watching yours. I wasn't going to leave your channel. I think watching Pete get so much done was my inspiration. While Norna's refurbishment was quite the task what amazed me most was the Transformation of Blossom! She was in my league of sailboat since I have a 23' myself. Courtney did so much work on her too. I was so excited to see your new property and the new direction you are both heading too. I guess I found a connection to your lifestyle that matched my own. Thank you for all the videos, it was wonderful keeping up with you all. I will go out on a limb here and say I don't think you will never post videos again. I hope quarterly videos of your new life in Maine might be in the future. Thanks for all the good times and good luck to you all! John

A few years back, I was desperate for a place to live, and was looking at cheap, dilapidated boats. I asked the two of you about one boat in particular that I was (in my naive inexperience) thinking of moving myself and my cats into. Your and Pete's advice helped me avoid a situation that would have likely led to the death of myself and my cats. Thank You!

I have followed you since the first video. I can’t remember the year, but I believe I was under 200 Subscriber’s. We follow this page because of you, Not because of some boat. You have to make videos.. I first found your book in a second hand marine store in St. Augustine I believe. I was on vacation in Florida and found the store. I then found your blog, then RU-vid. I can’t remember just how it all happened, I really can’t remember. But I started a RU-vid account just so I could comment on your videos, 2014 I believe. I never had a account before finding your channel. I had a 73 Bay window bus at the time. I was so excited when you bought one also.. Please make videos from the back woods of Maine. No way this can be over. You have been a huge inspiration to so many people… You was the reason I got into sailing… Your book and videos changed my life for sure…. Fair Winds

Funny, I'm a big fan of sailing/boatbuilding YT channels, I must be subscribed to a couple of dozen. YT suddenly recommends your channel for the first time with your farewell episode. I'll have to go back and check it out. FWIW, I'm sort of living a "homestead" life, it keeps me anchored and away from sailing. Not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe in my next life!

Having enjoyed your video content, It’s a strange thing to know but not be known. Prior to my sail south the dark New England winters brought your sailing content to my attention. Living on the water, there has been hardly a day in my life when Wooden ships, sailing and Friendship Sloops, have not been in view. I know I already made a comment yesterday. But I can’t stop thinking about you guys just ending this. I feel like I’m losing family. You don’t understand how finding your book in that second hand marine store in St. Augustine changed my life. It’s why I now own a second home in Bradenton Florida with a deep water slip in the back yard. I will retire there full time from Indiana in two years. I plan to sail the Bahamas in the winter and up and down the east coast in the summers. Keeping my Florida home as a home port. You inspired that. That one little book, plus the years of RU-vid. I believe I subscribed when you was under 200 subscribers. Just because you are selling the boat don’t mean you have to leave RU-vid. Do some homestead videos or other projects you guys get into. Homestead videos do very well on RU-vid. Maybe it could help pay for projects. You already have a base. We watched the last 8yrs of videos because of you, not a boat. I’m being selfish I know, but it’s hard to see someone just leave who has inspired so many. I know you didn’t have a huge channel compared to others, but you channel was real and from the heart. I have two sailing channels I subscribe to. You and Kevin Boothby (How to Sail Oceans). Kevin and I have become friends. But his channel is real like your channel. No Clickbait or T&A. Just real world people and sailors. I hope you stop in and drop a video now and then. Just so we know how you guys are doing.
