Thanks for your reaction! Omar works really well with Voice Play (he is a long time best friend and roommate of Cesar). Omar recently performed with Voice Play when the legendary band, Chicago, called them to appear with them in New Jersey. Some other Voice Play covers with Omar that I highly recommend are "Superstition", "Carry On My Wayward Son", "Whisky In The Jar" and "Dragonborn Comes" ( He is also in a lot of minis/shorts with them on their channel).
So glad you're having fun and doing VoicePlay justice. Any of the three could have taken the highest note in the harmony, but, according to Cesar, he wanted it the most so they gave it to him.
Love that you two are reacting to these iconic covers by Voice Play. They did a fantastic cover here! Aerosmith became popular during my generation. (Yep! I’m in my 60’s, but still love Classic Rock!) This is one of my favorites from Aerosmith! I even saw them live back in the late 70’s. Anyway, I think Voice Play made it their own in a way that no one could compare. No instruments, and they blew it out the water! To get you in the holiday mood, you should check out their version of “Oogie Boogie Man” from the movie “Nightmare Before Christmas”. It’s been a few years, but I’m sure you’ll love it!

#Voiceplay. A bit of info-Cesar and Omar are roommates! Also, Cesar hit the highest note in this! Not sure what the note is, though. Wait, have you done Warriors? I can't recall. But it's an older part of their apocalypse videos.
#VoicePlay. Always here for them or Geoffs' covers. Omar has been in a few videos. Carry On Wayward Son, The Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, SUPERSTITION, and newest Whiskey In The Jar. He was recently on stage with VoicePlay singing with Chicago on the 17th & 18th of this month. Huldra Draco has videos of their live performances that weekend. That last high note was all Cesar. He asked Eli if he could do it and Eli told him to go for it.
And even though it is visually different, I tend to put their cover of Imagine Dragons' "Enemy" in a grouping with the three Post-Apocalyptic videos. And while all of them are great in it, Layne's beats really slay it!
In 2013 when they were on the Sing Off with Home Free in my book it should have been them at the end competing. I was so mad when they didn't make the cut!
@@JillPeterson-dr6ox I think it was rigged as well. That çhick "Honey" ruined it for them. I think they were forced into having a female in group to be able to compete. She acted like show was about her. Home Free was forced into doing country music even though Tim wanted to do a wider variety (my understanding).
Are either of you gamers? VoicePlay have also done quite a number of covers of songs from video games, and some of them are truly epic. They covered the Halo Theme (*absolutely* phenomenal piece of music, even if you aren't a gamer) and from Skyrim they performed The Dragonborn Comes- another song that features Omar. It's also stunning, and it goes without saying that both videos are just as incredible. One thing to note- if you do check out the Halo Theme, it is well worth watching the bit at the end as well. It will tell you a bit more about why VoicePlay would be interested in the Halo Theme in the first place, and a whole lot about who they all are, as people.
Geoff and Layne are not human. Please check out VoicePlay's "In The Air Tonight" featuring J.None. Layne does singing. I think VoicePlay should cover Foreigner's "Jukebox Hero" or any of their hits. Eli definitely could work his rock God voice. Also Hall and Oates.
#Voiceplay... It is not a violin.. it is a Violayne lol. Omar came in 4th on Voice in the US last December.. there is a rundown of his performances on RU-vid. I love anything that they do.
Aerosmith's lead singer is Steven Tyler ( could be Stephen). I believe they are required to get permission from the original artist before they can release a cover.
Love seeing you guys react to VP! Such a huge back catalogue to choose from. Would also recommend Omar’s own single - “Wait and love me”. It hasn’t had nearly enough love yet for such a great track!
They refer to this style as post-apocalytic and it does appear a few times. That high not was taken by Cesar though both Eli and Omar could have done it. Cesar wanted it and got it. :) Fun fact: Layne said he faked the lip sync on this one, as the correct one looked too ridiculous so he did something different for the filming. There has been only one video from VP which I haven't felt was an improvement, and that's the latest one, Whisky in the Jar, but I'm a big fan of the original as an Irish protest song. and I can't hear it as a pop song. But this is the first time I've felt that way.
I like the big three, but VP is my fav. Hoist the colours, Dragonborn comes, and Oogie boogie’s song my go tos. Have you heard The Bass Gang? My fav from them are : emperor’s new clothes and I think therefore I am.

Next to Home Free my second favorite band is Aerosmith my sound funny but it just is. Going to give Voiceplay a second tr as Dream on is one of my favorites.
I think I almost like this version better than the original. All the layers just add something special to it. Oh and the last high note is Cesar not Eli. He asked if he could do and surprised even himself by how pure the note came out. Eli said he earned the right to do it. Cesar just doesn't want to know what the note is. LOL
