Nicely done! I loved the twist. I feel like this just goes to show how important good audio is. The image was still amazing for a smartphone, but the audio definitely brought the whole production to a new level.

A lot of it sounded like foley effects, makes you wonder how much of the high quality sound comes from panning things in post. I'd like to see 2 shots, one after the other, no editing in post, one with a built in phone mic and one with the headset

This is such a tense experience... I love the depth of sound and warm real feeling of it. I love that sort of ending! The whistle was a great way to show off the headphones! Like this was really clever!

I loved it. Could have been a bit scarier, such creaking, shadows and the street light blinking with that buzzing sound they make. Here's a new idea....A woman thinks she's being followed, after she misses the last bus. After an hour's walk, in the dark & fog, down some country road, she thinks she hears someone following her. She begins to run, she hears the person also running, she runs faster and faster, as does the killer. When she stops to catch her breath, she hears the killer also breathing the same ragged breaths as she. Finally, she sees her home, and runs fast as she possibly can, still hearing those footsteps behind her. She runs, inserts her house key, her breathing SO loud & rasping. She gets in, almost hysterical with happiness, because she's finally home & safe. After she gets in, she leans against her front door, closes her eyes & breaths deeply, with the knowledge that she has escaped this murderer who has terrorized her small village for over two years. Then, she hears, in a low menacing voice "Hello, Rosemary, I've been waiting for you". In a flash, she realizes she has locked herself inside with the murderer. The running & breathing?? As he put his hands around her throat, she realized all she had heard, while running for her life...…. had all been in her head. Do you think you could make this into a vid?? Now, this IS scary. I have plenty more in my head !!

Wow, Roxanne... So, sooo cool! It's great that you paid attention to details and kept the tension through the whole movie. The plot twist is also nice and you gave some hints, as it should be! Wasn't expecting the other girl from the bus, so, you still surprised me in the end. Excellent!

i think the idea is really cool, more people should get into the idea of using binaural audio in their films but it didn’t do much for me because i also consume a lot of asmr which i think has sort of desensitized me to this type of audio form 😅

I just came here to answer your question "How important is sound to horror." I have two answers for you. 1/ Perhaps you should ask H. P. Lovecraft. 2/ If the horror is done well enough, it will be terrifying without any sound at all. But yes that was very well done, although I listened to it on my monitors because they have a much richer quality than any headphones ever could, and don't worry, I spent long enough positioning them that the effect worked just fine. (Lovecraft is still scarier)

To respond to the comments about the extreme 3D aspect, and shot with an iPhone, those were exactly the intent. The microphone product used captures audio from the phone's camera perspective. So, if you pay attention closely, the sound changes with the view of the shot. Things to the left and right are a little more than normally accentuated because of the serious stereo or 3D sound field of each shot. This really is a game changer for capturing realistic perspective in moble video shooting, opening a door to a new, and exciting realm of creativity! Create on!

There were a few continuity errors and the black bars they added in post to change the aspect ratio was not positioned well. You can see the film few pixels wide next to the bar on the top right corner for a while...

If they would have used an S9+ the image would have looked MUCH better with its variable aperture but nope, they chose to be iSheep and use an inferior product. And yeah I know the Ambeo headphones are only for iPhone but that just further proves my point.

How can you not equalize the muddy bass. Especially the muddy bass of background music which conflicts with the frequencies recorded from environment. The pleasing surround sound was disturbed by it. And I think you applied additional stereo separation which cancels a bit of perfection. A more realistic sample is from SmarterEveryday video where he captured a SpaceX event using your Sennheiser Ambeo and it was great, plus there was an X Factor in that video, the BLASTS from Shuttles. I can listen to that video without watching and it's pleasing, tried here not much.

@@elnombre5597 i never said its boring at all , its simply , well, you probably saw that the camera quickly changed from perspective to perspective right? it always cut to different scenes in different places. 3D sound really works if you can think yourself into it, unless one possesses the ability of instantaneous teleportation its bound to confuse any human's senses. Binaural 3D sound works best if the camera is steady without cuts, as if one is walking or moving the head, thats what i meant. Its confusing that one listens from so many different angles and positions shortly after another. Never said its boring, just mentioned that, which is my personal oppinion and probably the oppinion most people share, its offputting, thats all. I never said bad or boring~. In short: i aint bashing the video, im simply offering constructive criticism :P

Nothing special when it comes to movies though 2 microphones for 2 ears. All the movies have stereo sound and that's what this is. But pretty cool is that it was captured on those headsets.
