Pro tip for gluing cakes: You want to rip off the bottom paper on your cake before gluing. This will reveal a hard base or (in the case of a 200G cake) exposed clay-plugged tubes. rather than gluing paper which can rip off, you are gluing the base or clay tubes directly to the board. I learned to do this the hard way. Second, I like to space out my cakes more because they've caught fire in my shows on more than one occasion.

What kind of liquid nails were you using? I used liquid nails from Wal-Mart and had a similar issue last year. When the show was over they were way too easy to kick off for clean up .
Man I don’t remember. Maybe Gorilla brand? One shot blew up while it was secured which blew it off the board. I had the board angled so that made it easier to move
