Finale from PRINCE OF BROADWAY performed by stars Shuler Hensley, Ramin Karimloo, Mariand Torres, Nancy Opel, Emily Skinner, Tony Yazbeck, Josh Grisetti, Bryonha Marie Parham, Kaley Ann Voorhees and Reon Yuzuki.
Great cast, especially Tony Yazbeck. I caught this show and appreciated how well constructed a musical review it was. However, it felt like a small show about a huge force behind the evolution of the modern American musical. Wish it had been as grand as JEROME ROBBINS' BROADWAY.
I'm not the most well versed in the various well known Broadway actors, and I've been on an Oklahoma! kick, but I was looking at Shuler Hensley going... "Is it just me... or does he look and sound like Jud Fry?" And then I looked him up and he was! XD
Ramin , looks a bit bored with all these Broadway types, revue not really his thing, Shuler Hensley , wonder what hes doing here as well,.Ramin was brought up in Italy ,Canada, and has lived in the UK, for nearly 20 years, singing songs from productions that most people even theatre folk have not heard of, Ramin, hasn't made that mistake again...lol
He might also be trying to make sure he doesn’t miss a cue or such. Since he doesn’t read music, maybe he has to watch for different cues, even though they’re not working with sheet music at this point.
@@emilyzahora3330 I think he's just a bit bored. This stuff is barely challenging compared to all the music and stage directions from Phantom, of Chess. Also, Ramin is a dramatic anti-hero/epic lead type actor, whereas the POB lead is a bland "everyman" role. It's a weird casting choice, but I guess they wanted someone with star power who could just breeze through the songs.
This is TERRIBLE! It sounds like every bad song from every tired late-70's-early-80's revue that had no point or purpose ("Starting Here, Starting Now", "Closer Than Ever", "Marry Me A Little" and was going nowhere. The staging only helps support the emptiness of the moment.
