I have always been POCH in but, I didn't have resentments at those who wanted him out either. Point is, everyone will have what they prefer and it's very ok. This team would've done better if certain parameters were in our favour. Chelsea for life
I think for me, the most exciting thing about this season and Poch is that, to a lesser degree, it feels like when Ranieri first came in and established the start of a core spine of in the team, and instilled belief into them. Then came Mourinho and the rest is history. I feel like since we got rid of the old spine and old guard we have had to rebuild the Chelsea fighting mentality around the team. These last few games, and the form since the start of the year, have convinced me that Poch is the guy we need right now. I think we should keep him for next season, after backing him in the summer, and see where he takes us. Ideally after the second year, depending on results we can possibly get a world class coach that knows how to win leagues and cups to solidify the teams levels of desire and hunger. After that you'll still have a young squad, but they'll be mentality monsters, incredibly skillful, and full of self confidence. Seems like we could be on the right track fellas
I totally agree with you, the Ranieri era comparison is relevant. It does feel similar. Ranieri constructed a hell of a good squad and helped to transition us from a flaky exhibitionist cup team into a more mature, tactically assured & consistent league centric side. Tuchel hit a ceiling with us and at Bayern in that he cannot really develop players, however Pochettino revels in exactly that. The garden is looking very rosy indeed…
Chelsea finally look like they can grind out wins against the lesser opposition, which was an issue most of the season. If Chelsea didn’t stumble on most of the bottom 10 clubs this season, we’d be top 4 right now. Hopefully, the team can carry this form to the next season. And please, sort out the injury issues.
The problem was the low block that lower teams use. The players seemed to take those matches lightly and struggled to break through the low block, and then lost out on transition. Big credit to Poch, you can see how the attacking patterns have changed and became far more fluid, and the entire team fights for the ball in transition
Well done Poch, he’s managed to get the players to evolve into a results grinding machine at long last. Fighting it out for these Europa league positions will serve as a great experience for these young players to call upon for future. At many points in the season we looked doomed to be stuck in mid table misery. Slowly and surely they’ve turned the ship around.
Proud to say ever since I saw Poch running Southampton and Spurs, and how he took them to good places, I have to say even back then I thought "wouldn't mind having a manager like that here". So I've been backing Poch all the way, and it seems my faith is being justified. Still hope he can stay at the helm and keep it rising next season
Remember when the loss to arsenal under Conte was the catalyst for change? Feels like the same situation here. A lot of belief in Chelsea now, excited for next season for the first time in a while
Our problem this season was not beating the big boys but losing and drawing to the middle and bttom league clubs. Now we are doing that people are complaining about the quality of our opponents. Fact is a team that a year ago didn't even know each other may end up 5 or 6 and has the most wins of any clubs since Boxing day other than the top three teams shows a huge improvement, a team that could not buy a goal last year now is an offensive machine all show that Poch has slowly and gradually put together what is going to be a fearsome squad next year. Me, I cannot wait to enjoy this new version of Chelsea next year.
we have developed so much this season, football is such a confidence sport. the owners have learnt a lot, theve backed off and let poch work, first half of the season poch made a lot of mistakes, so did the players. we were like 15-20 points off 5th/4th half way through the season. next season, if we can sort out the injuries, sign a top gk, cb, lb and striker then we will be fighting for 3rd
@@farawaytundra008have u been watching Chelsea since the new year? They have been one of the best teams in England and have dominated in possession and have actually been bagging goals despite having injuries and an inconsistent striker. Arsenal always bottle, but Chelsea is actually going to compete for the league with city next year
I love this comment ... I can't wait to see Enzo shut all naysayers up ... Everything nowadays is because of him.. he's not apart of the team currently and suddenly chelsea become great .. people need to stop this narrative
We're starting to play like a team with character. We have a identity now where we aren't afraid to play around you, aren't afraid to hammer you on a counterattack, aren't afraid to hunker down and suffer as a team. Its easy to root for a Club, Manager, Team when you see these things.
I prefered Nagelsmann to poch. But I was sure any manager would have trouble making a team from scatch. I have always supported Poch since he came in. Glad the big accounts are coming around
It seems POCH has improved because he was told that his ass was out if he didn’t. Up to this point I think he was complacent about losing. So give him a top 4 target for next season. But can’t see us winning the league again until PEP leaves. We could win the UCL though
Nice one George, your content rocks. Bring in an experienced striker, center back and left back and I think we'll be back in the top 4 mix next season. Like you I haven't always been but Potch in! Andy (a Kiwi living in France).
I personally think this summer is the most important of all the windows for the new board so far. They have to keep the likes of cucurella, Gallagher and chalobah and move on players like Chilwell and Sterling. I want to see us smart with signings such as Ortega and an experienced CB - I don’t think we need to go all out for oshimen I think we can look at other options. Most importantly we need to resolve this injury crisis so we have a full and strong squad. I think we also need to have a serious look at captaincy too, I don’t think Reece is ready or fit enough to be club captain
Fact is we all went off the deep end a bit too quick , no matter what , no matter the injuries it was always going to take time and here we are , now let's go get cooking next season
I believed in this team from pre season. But with injuries and when players being played wrong positions made me worried that was on Poch. Owners care thats why they spend to get Enzo and Caicedo.
I'm glad we are seeing what a project is all about and learn to have more patience, they always said it was a process and that there were going to be ups and downs now we're seeing the results. It's time we back this project next season is going to be so exciting. COYB!
Really wishing you success and also it would be extremely nice if you had a podcast too. Just an informal Chelsea fans go to podcast. Wish you success.
i just have feeling that everything chelsea has done is your HAIR EFFECT. you had no hair we had no win... you started growing and see we started winning... cheers
This is exactly what I predicted would happen 2 years ago. Because as an American I see Boehly's rebuild strategy quite often with sports franchises here in the States. Teams will selloff their aging players to make room for burgeoning young prospects. They'll be terrible for a year or two, but as the prospects mature they eventually become good and usually by year 3 they're challenging for titles. Boehly did this with the LA Dodgers and they became the most dominant team in MLB for the past decade.
I backed poch since day 1 although i never wantex him in frst place but to build somwthing strong we had to let go of hire n fire managers...and this is the initiative
My only concerns right now are the CB depth, LB and the ability of players in the forward line to score goals who are not named Palmer and Nkunku next season. I don’t see Madueke being a long-term solution as a winger, Sterling is not a reliable starter and Mudryk is still struggling (but I think he might reach a high level ITF). Anyway, the manager isn’t the biggest concern going into the summer and next season.
I thought Brighton away would be a step too far, based on the bottling of the League cup final. I’m pleasantly surprised, they’ve ground out a brilliant result and managed to deal with adversity in Reese’s sending off. A coming of age run of results. There is no doubt in my mind that the players enjoy playing for Pochettino, the spirit in the club is transformed compared to those dank stale times when we had deadwood like Ziyech, Koulibaly etc.
I can only condemn Poch if he has 70% of his squared ready and fit,I think he can go far, next season is not only Top 4 target, but also EPL trophy 🏆 target.❤
How much credit can we heap upon Boehley etc for the new signings you mentioned in this video ? Did they know what they were doing all along ? Or did they just get lucky in who they bought ??
I thought Poch set himself up for failure at the beginning of the season saying we need to be going for titles when we were clearly in transition (look how many managers we went through last season and where we ended up). That being said we did end up in a final and a semi (lost to liverpool and city, the two best teams over the last 5 years), so I guess he wasn't wrong.
It's a stepping stone, we'll still likely get some odd/bad results next season. This summer is the last transfer window of the ownership's 4 window plan, so we'll see what happens there. I don't believe the preseason fixtures are well planned with the time between games and all the travelling, that and the international tournaments mean it's not the best preseason, I don't think we're challenging next season, getting top 4 yes, but not challenging. If progress continues 25/26 is when we should start to challenge.
I know everyone loves to go on and on about the money spent, but I think one season is too quick to decide if its a failure or success, as signings do take time to settle sometimes (even if they come from another prem team). Caicedo is starting to really look good, Enzo has apparently been playing with an injury for most of the season. Nkunku has been out with injury most of the season (if he is injury prone that is a bad investment, but I don't know if he is or whether it was just this season), but has looked really good whenever he was on. Lavia has been out the whole time so cant say anything. Mudryk is the only one I'm not completely convinced with yet, he has flashes of brilliance but only flashes, if he can keep that quality consistenly he may be well worth it. Other than that I think the signings have been fantastic. Palmer and Gusto came in for cheap and have been absolute bangers. Madueke is developing, came in for not much and I think been looking good and developing well. Jackson wasn't a record signing or anything, and so I wouldn't say he was a bad signing at all, and he is coming good (especially with finishing, can't waith for next season). Disasi has been ok, some great games some shit, mostly ok. All other signings more for the future so lets see, certainly a few of them will come good.
I was unsure if Poch was going to be the right guy when he was hired despite knowing that he was a good manager and a better guy. Give him credit, he has stabilized the team and the players love him.
What Chelsea can do now is for the club to keep it's emerging 'spine' of Chelsea Academy graduates: Reece James Conor Gallagher Trevor Chalobah Levi Colwill Noni Madueke et al The Blues are lucky having Cole Palmer, Christopher Nnkunku et al. In the last game of the season the team has it all to beat Bournemouth and end 23/24 in glorious fashion by 'winning football matches'.
I want Chelsea to keep Gallagher + Chalobah. Enzo’s position/rile needs to be considered positively by Pochetino. Only for the fact this dude went for his surgery…alas solution came up fiaaaam COYB
Enzo is a class player and played hurt most of the season. The biggest mistake this club and manager can make now is recency bias with Gallagher. Gallagher is a one trick pony, he runs hard and that's about where it ends. A fantastic squad player if he were to stay, but on his day Enzo is and will be the answer. If this manager gets another chance next season and hangs his hat on Gallagher over Enzo, he will be gone and so will Enzo. Enzo will go somewhere else and be world class, we've all seen this before. So let's not be short sighted because of the last four games. Gallagher is at his ceiling and Enzo has not even touched his potential
George, could you ban this guy call @Seru from your comment section? He's been rude and disrespectful towards other commenters who doesn't agree with his opinion. I would appreciate it very much. Thank you! To add on, there's a guy called @ClixCFC who called fans 'Mutants' saying we have no standards when we understand this process takes time with the mess Chelsea was left in. Please report these 2
Now I am happy that we have lost the semi-final of the FA Cup because if we are in the final we have to beat United to have the European league place which is very difficult and fifty-fifty and it is better now to make City do it for us.
Last season was awful. Neither we conceded so much this season, we doubled the goals from the last one. We had so many experienced players and no one could step up to be the leader. Conor had to take the responsibility after the injuries of our capitans and did a good job. Hope he doesn't get sold and remain the capitan.
I still don't trust those clown owners to do the right thing. They are lucky Joe Shield push them to take Palmer. I don't feel the owners want to buy the best experience players, just potentials. They still didn't learn. It's not sustainable...
I said this all along this is a young NEW team no one knows each other movements skills so i sit back and watch the balls up BUT now we look and see players working as a team next season WATCH the change
Is it me or does arsenal always have a way of unlocking chelsea first it was us losing to them during the conte season which gave us a boost now we lost again in that 5-0 and we have super boost in form since that game
If we play like we did since Jan next year we'll challenge. All of liverpools big players will most likely be leaving no klopp, arsenal bottled the league twice in a row. It's our time again
@GeorgeBenson, I feel for you guys that are bringing us this incredible news about our beloved club. It is a very tasking thing to do. However, you’ve earned my respect by admitting to eat the humble pie and see Pochettino in another light. I bet all Chelsea fans at a point this season must have given up on the team and we all blame the coach, the owners, the directors etc. Some of you guys are even insinuating that the only reason the owners are here is just for profit making. Every company primary objective is to make profit and this should not be made to look like a bad thing. Personally, I don’t believe the owners are just here for profit. You guys should include yourselves as part of the problem of the Team. You get us excited about players that are sub par and when they failed, you blame everyone but yourselves. The ideal of changing coaches at every dip in my mind is insane, it is not sustainable. We got use to this mentality during the Abrahmovic era and no organization succeed with this model. Let us support these owners and the coaching staff and success is assured in the nearest future.
Roman found a formula for instant success but the foundations were dodgy af. If they weren’t we wouldn’t have been where we were last season. Building something for the long term 💙 UTC!
Still think Clearlake over invested in youth and under invested in experience, which is probably why we fell off a cliff. But hard to be unhappy as it is.
Regarding players playing with confidence, Mudryk still looks lost when he doesn’t have the ball, as if he doesn’t know where he should be moving towards on the pitch.
Lots positives but real fans should be there when things are dark. I rem them saying Jackson is useless, poch must go,cucu should go!good things are planned n they take time.chelsea reign
