DEFYN you should try the belt combo of Tracers for the Shvak and Stealth for the berezins. That way you hit always with the 20 and since velocities are closest with the Shvak tracer belt and the berezins, the 12.7s will hit automatically. It a deadly combo, touch any plane instant fire and excellent damage.
the yak 9u shouldn't have gotten low to dogfight a better turner, the situation was perfect for an energy trap... the problem is that Defyn never gets energy trapped
@@miquelescribanoivars5049 still, some guns are artificially nerfed. Hispanos and AN/M2/3 are the same gun and fire the same ammunition but we all know which gun is more accurate, damaging, and has less penetration. Fun fact: IRL the American's AN/M2 is just a cheaper less reliable Hispano copy but in game it's better
"20mm cAnNoNs GoT bUfFeD", cry aloud the people who trust the snail's release notes. Yes, American 20mms slap harder, the rest of European and Japanese cannons keep being the same.
@@michaelvigil5321 it's called favour the ones that feed you. The majority of premium pack accounts and premium vehicle purchases are American. That's why Americans have guided missiles at 8.7 while the rest of nations later past 9.3. or why a p39N with insane retention, dive and climb rate + one hit kill cannon is at 3.0 and (before last economy changes) the f4u 4b that's more 6.7 vehicle than the Spitfire mk24 costed the same at a full br lower while being thrice a better rank 5 grinder
The most successful french plane during WW2 ! Normandie-Niemen was so reknown and so effective that Stalin himself gifted the planes to their pilots and let them fly them back to France !
Took your advice on beginning jets. (I have 9.0 unlocked just from props) f-84 at 7.3 is actually fun sometimes. Too bad it rarely pays off with free account. Zero kill win is about 6k SL. Repair cost is almost 9k. Two kill loss break even. Two kill win you maybe make 18-20k. Jets are a premium account sink and I’m just done with it all. I wish I could just play the game and have fun without repair cost looming.
Thanks for explaining that even if your plane has bad high alt performance that you should still climb. Can't count how many arguments I've had with idiots who think otherwise.
Pretty much all I've flown in the past couple months. I really enjoy free premiums that are a copy of a plane from another nation, and this might be the king of that.
Stalin gifted the Yak 3 personally to the pilots of the French aviation group Normandie-Niemen... Who arrived in France to have their planes taken over by the french air force because "Owning war material is illegal". One of these original planes still exists in the french aviation Museum in le Bourget near Paris, with a side of the aircraft having the paint removed to show the colors of the different Soviet air forces regiments using the plane before it was given to the French. This particular airframe is credited with 4 kills and 2 assists while being flown by Robert Marchi (who earned 13 confirmed kills in little under a year, including 3 kills in... his very first mission in doctober 1944)
You could've used more throttle control in that 1 v 1 with the Yak9U. Always decrease throttle to 0 when on the peak of your loop, and hit 100% when at the bottom. That way You could've outmaneuvered him much quicker. Nice vid
Problem is with cutting the throttle at the top of the loop will mean his next loop is either death or a kill, give the enemy more energy during this and they can spend it for stalling you out
I cant really see a point where extra throttle drops would've helped him kill faster, rather it would put him in a worse position fighting a 9U at altitude
Perfomancewise this plane is a monster on 4.0, the biggest disadvantage I found is the armanent and ammo capacity, usually hardly enough for two kills. Another disadvantage is your team....8 out of 10 times I'm the only one on altitude an end up in 6 vs 1 :F
France was out of WW2 after 9 mo so their aircraft never got any chance to develop... such a shame for the game 🥺 Could you do a review of the J7W1, it's such a tricky plane to fly...
I'am not a specialist but what i do remember is the rate of fire is synchronized with the RPM of the motor so theoretically bullets can't hit the blades, beautiful engineering, simple when you know how it works but maybe hard to understand the 1st time
Hi DEFYN do you have the J2M4? If so, would you make a vid flying it? How does it compare to the M5. In fact I changed my mind, the J2m4 is a flaming pack of trash. What a ruse
F-4 is good for ‘mid alt’ when mid alt is about 4~6K. G-2 has its manifold pressure limited at lower alts so it does not benefit from DB605 until up high. G-6 currently in game is G-6/AS I believe, which are no different to G-14 so think of it as F-4 but more power and more speed with less pull. G-14 is bad, G-10 is optimised for alts above 6K and K-4 is similar to G-6 but more of everything. That’s pretty much it, they are all very similar to each other but F-4 and G-6 are the best currently, G-2 and G-10 are the most fun, G-14 is sort of a meme for me since it somehow manages dogfights better in my experience, K-4 currently gets almost clapped by F2Gs and P-51Hs and to an extent Yak-3Us.
@@left_ventricle yeah I'd say that's a good summary in my experience but I don't have much experience in the higher tier 109s. But fighting k4s in british and american props around that tier dealing with 109s is not really a problem. You also forgot the F4U-4B at 5.7 ;) I would say the 109-F4 is prob the best 109 tier for tier. It is the most maneuverable 109 in turn radius and rate (afaik) and can basically just turn fight everything, and if it doesnt outturn the enemy it likely ouclimbs and has enough better vertical energy retention to win a dogfight.
A question: Given the fantastic low altitude performance of the yak-3s, let's say in a match the majority of your fighter teammates don't climb and just sort of advances into the battlefield in a cluster at around 2000 meters. Should one risk climbing and being singled out at 4000 meters or should they stay with their team and risk losing anyway but maybe get a kill or two?
Concept: you should still climb. I fly a lot of bad planes so i've developed some tactics, even if your whole team is low and you get targeted up high, you can use that fixation to draw multiple enemies down with you to lower altitude. You just have to manage the distance between yourself and the enemy, to make sure you don't get caught before you can drag them into your team. This is where it becomes a bit scummy, because with Russian planes, you've now basically forced your team into a fight with a bunch of high energy opponents just so you can start getting the performance advantage and kill them in a big furball.
@@rainsilent Lmao it's almost always get swarmed by 3 or 4. That's why I dont climb past 3500 in those situations. Because of the Yak-3s low rip speed, i cant dive quickly to my allies if i climb higher. As soon as I see the 4 xp-50s barrelling to do head ons, I just bring them to my friendly ITPs.
@@md.shihabsharar8753 the F6F at 4.3 would be better than the 5N, it pains me to say this, despite its good turn and armament, the 5N really needs a lower BR, 3.7 is a stretch but I doubt it’ll be competitive at 4.0.
@@md.shihabsharar8753 for some reason my brother has 120 kills with it and 80 deaths, and also he wasnt even climbing, he just flew at low altitiude and dogfighted everything.
Not unpopular at all. The french tech tree has very few native french prop aircraft that aren't objectively bad aircraft. They don't have any unique characteristics that give them an edge, they are just kind of bad at everything.
@@md.shihabsharar8753 the two I’d argue for is V.G.33C-1 and D.520 and those are really about it, but I think Ouragan/Barougan and Etenderd IVM is decent enough.
@@left_ventricle You could make an argument for both of them and you could also say that you had positive experiences with them, but one must admit that there are equivalent aircraft at the BR bracket that will beat them in every category, so they aren't competitive planes. As for the Ouragan/Barougan and Etendard, I did say Native French "prop" aircraft are bad, not the jets.
Its not about the aircrafts but the one piloting i saw guys fighting in aircrafts that had 26+ sec turn time yet they absolutely shit on planes that had a 15+ sec turn time
Gaijin were very sneaky when they switched the P63C and the F6F-5N recently... the P63 literally grinded my entire French rank 4 and 5 so I’m lucky I did the French tree when I did
This thing is the bane of me. Easily puts out every fire i give to it, and i just can't seem to hit the engine at all. The only consistent french yak killer i have is my XP-50.
