Hongjoong and Seonghwa wrote a straight diss track. Some background for the lyrics that have lots of info that only Atiny to get with all there inside remarks, here are some of the lyrics and breakdown. - When they say crazy and noisy is a reference to what people say that Ateez performances and their music are. - When Seonghwa raps "But yes, oh my doctor said There's a lot of room left to grow" comes from the endoscopy wanteez episode. The Dr told Hwa that he has a large stomach but it also means that they are still hungry even with 5 years in and with all there accomplishments. Yeosang and Wooyoung had just did an interview mentioning that are still hungry for more. - Hongjoong "If you want to put a GPS, put it on a suitcase, not on a carnival, You can be busy too" is a references too 2021 where they found GPS trackers on their Kia Carvial. After that line Hongjoong raps how they need to get a life. You can see this in the beginning of the MV when someone puts a tracker on the van which is a Kia Carnival. - Hongjoong raps about “Numbers without sources don’t mean a thing to me at all” this about a couple of months ago there were sasaeng “stalker” selling their personal information on line. So there phone numbers and even there flight info. I so happy that Seonghwa was able to convince Hongjoong in creating this song because Hongjoong and the producing team wanted a sort of ballad.
Also there is the obvious diss about how ATEEZ were not considered 'child-friendly' by elders cause of their stage presence where they constantly do hip thrusts. I think elders were also demanding compensation for their tickets as well. That's why Seonghwa goes "I pay Euro, I pay Dollar, I pay Yen, Won, Pay blah blah" . Man I love Seonghwa's sarcastic tone, it's such a diss. I love them😭
I think the “numbers with out sources” is more representative to the award shows always cheating them out of wins. Ateez has a long history of getting held back by the big 4 out there. Their voting system is so complicated and speculation is it heavy rigged by those trying to keep Ateez down. I loved the callout to the stalkers putting GPS on their vehicles. Keep coming for these men…they aren’t scared 😎
@@stillastrayyayayaya i love his parts and lyrics so much. I really like that they get their message out. How the 'Fans' treating them. Of how some are just crazy. I read an interesting theory about the Shop. The plagarism happen to Ateez often is called something like..' shopping in ateez shop' and one said that the shop they are destroying could be the Ateez shop so others cant steal anymore.
@@TeddyGreyOSi am so glad too. Glad he could convince them. He has such a unique style and I love it. He is so creative. Also in regards of stages So many stage idas are from him. For example also the Break The Wall chant is suggested by him. And this is one of the loudest every concert.
Seonghwa auditioned as a rapper and later on they told him that they let him pass the auditions because they were afraid he would MURDER them if they said no! He wrote the rap he auditioned with, and the people at KQ said his eyes were so intense and his appearance so fierce that they feared for their lives... if you look up pictures of pre-debut Seonghwa, he looks like he could and WOULD beat up current Seonghwa, it's the strangest thing 😂 His vocals are amazing but you could tell there was a beast hiding behind that handsome face, waiting to come out. It does on stage, and that's why SH is part of the demon line. But now it's finally coming out in his voice and style as well. KQ originally wanted Matz (their unit name that HJ and SH came up with, short for mathyung aka oldest brothers/members in a group) to sing a calmer song, almost a ballad or love song, and Hongjoong was on board (let's not forget that HJ wrote Thank U for SH, and dedicated a whole ass love song to him - Only Yours). It was Seonghwa that asked them if they could do THIS instead. SH said that hip-hop is in his blood, and so when he got the chance to work on a project from start to finish, he couldn't pass up the opportunity to rap. Hongjoong agreed immediately (Atinys always joke that HJ is the Captain, but SH sits on the throne lol) and helped and supported Seonghwa throughout the whole process. When Hongjoong heard Seonghwa's part for the first time in the studio, he felt so emotional he almost cried :') Let's all thank Seonghwa and the power he holds over Hongjoong for the existence of Matz 😌
Both Seonghwa and Hongjoong wrote the lyrics and then Hongjoong produced it together with Eden ( who suggested more of a ballad love song) but Seonghwa wanted a Hip Hop song and convinced Hongjoong to do it. And I am so glad about it. They made one of the best tracks on the album. You maybe know. But Seonghwa auditioned to KQ as a rapper, but they already had Mingi/ Hongjoong and I think maybe because Mingi already has a deep tone they put him in the vocal line and gave him vocal lessons from the beginning. I mean he really has a nice singing voice. There also performances where Seonghwa rapped Mingis part from some years ago.
Others here have mentioned the incident of the gps tracking device found on KQ's Kia Carnival van but the part about the suitcase...Hongjoong is saying that putting the device on the van was easy and at the same time lazy. He challenged the stalkers to put in some real work and mark a suitcase or something closer to them. He wants them to put themselves in the line of fire like Ateez does...make it worth it.
Great reaction, as always 😂 I just wanted to say that what you said about Hongjoong and Seonghwa (and in fact all of ATEEZ) not being afraid to show their masculinity is so true. Since the album came out, I've realised that they really are the only ones in the 4th gen industry who are not afraid to show that they are men. They do it in a way that is all-encompassing, and, like you said, it's so nice to see. A lot of male groups and idols nowadays don't embrace that side anymore, and perhaps that's just the industry. But with ATEEZ, I can call them men, with confidence. You gave me some food for thought, and I had to share lol. Thank you again for your reaction - looking forward to more in the future! :)
I watch a lot of youtubers react to Ateez (feeding my Ateez ego lol), but a lot of times, I don’t feel the reaction is genuine. I can tell you genuinely love music. You look up the lyrics and try to understand the meaning of a song (which is something a lot reactors don't do, which takes out such an important factor Ateez songs have!). So I appreciate your love for Ateez and music in general 😊
Someone said that Seonghwa is the best vocal rapper in kpop and this is so true. His flow and his rap overall here is better than some main rappers from other groups.
Well, whether it's going to be a ballad or rap, these 2 are going to kill it, this is how talented and unique they are plus I love MY MATZ!!!Thanks Teddy keep it going...
Everyone gonna have to clear the era if they hopefully play this on the tour this year FRFR cause sorry not sorry for the person I am gonna be during this bop bruh😩
Salutes to producer Kim Hongjoong the captain, rapper, and performer who devoured this song, and to Seonghwa for rapping his heart out and delivering fire
Regarding the chorus lines, when I listened to MATZ for the first time I thought they said "Two men, we on fire, we yo main" which, in my humble opinion, would have been like 10 times cooler lmao Like "we're the ones you like the most, we're your main characters, the ones you always pick and love". But MATZ is my fav track of the entire album anyways, so it doesn't even matter. As a Seonghwa ult, this song is everything I ever wanted. Side Note: For those of you who have seen 'Alice in Borderland', visually, Seonghwa gives me aaaaaaaall the Nigari vibes in this MV and I appreciate that with all my being.
Seonghwa keeps surprising me recently i’m so glad he was given the opportunity to express his thoughts especially musically & even though it was not what hongjoong or edenry wanted yet they respected his wishes i love healthy work environments 👍🏻 btw teddy have you seen hongjoong & jongho’s episodes in lee mujin service?
As a woman, I do appreciate the gender rant. I think it should be talked about more that masculinity is subjective too. We’re redefining feminism, but I’m full support for breaking the barriers of being a man. We are human. We should NEVER conform to a single box. If only more men saw the world that way too🥹
i hope you can reaction more mv unit, take a date😁 : 3 January - MATZ mv out (unit Hongjoong & Seonghwa) 10 January - IT's You MV out (unit Wooyoung, San, Yeosang) 17 January - Youth mv out (unit Mingi & Yunho) 24 January - Everything MV (solo Jongho) Thanks✨
I think Seonghwa put in a bit of his satoori vibe to his rapping. (Satoori being regional dialects.) I think you are right that they embrace their masculinity and intensity while also showing us men have many sides and facets like anyone and they are still men regardless and are just doing their own thing. Also some of the lyrics Korean or English sound a bit like the word Matz so that's clever. Also sounds like match, like they lit a match and started a fire.
The GPS one is not a mantra but rather a sad reality where sasaeng put gps track device to follow them all the time on their KIA Carnival and staff fortunately found it, so Hongjoong mocking them with something like "eh, should've put it on our suitcase instead on our carnival (KIA)" they got they ass sued by KQ and wants some sort of agreement but KQ said no.
Your reactions are really incredible and pretty crazy, I love them ahahahah (I love your k pop reactions in particular) !!! Can you do the reaction to DXMON please? They are a new K-POP male group, pretty crazy! Surelly you can appreciate them🔥🔥🔥🔥
Carnival is a type of KIA van that they use for getting around the city, a standard kpop celeb car, there was an incident where stalkers/sasaeng put GPS on it.. so he was dissing or being sarcastic by saying that instead of attaching it on Carnival, put it on carrier bag because they travel overseas a lot 😂
This song is written straight up for those toxic fans and haters, the fans that follow them everywhere, buy their numbers and then just bombard their cell during lives. Their was a situation where a fan even attached a gps to the Carnival that they were travelling in. I love this song and your reaction, thank you. My bias is Jongho too, my bias wrecker is the rest of the group 🤣🤣🤣 There will be another 3 videos, San, Wooyoung and Yeosang, Mingi & Yunho and Jongho.
The fans/haters actually put a tracker on their KIA Carnival (Which most of K celebrities use to commut) to track and see where they go and what they do (Absolute Losers) The line "Put tracker on Suitcase not on Carnival" is a diss to all the idiot "fans" and haters, bcoz they always travel in Flight and on very rare occasion use Carnival So the joke is on them bcoz they are not there, and are always flying , so put it on suitcase not on carnival
im so sorry i was super selfish and watched it on my own 😭 i felt bad afterwards but in the moment i was too busy drooling lmao. My man killed it! In my head when i reacted to the audio version i could totally see him changing his dancing pace throughout it and he did exactly that, it was amazing! I’ve often found that’s a great gage on how much i really like an artist or group, because I’ll get impatient and watch some of their stuff on my own instead of recording 😭😂
Okay it's referencing when a bunch of crazy ass fans put a GPS on their vehicle which if I'm not mistaken the model of is either a "carnival" or it's a mistranslation from caravan meaning don't put it on our van if you want to see where we are put the fucking GPS on a suitcase cuz we're all over the world
ItsANDYandJAS do such a great job at breaking down the lyrics and the meaning if you’re interested in checking it out. Hope to hear more MATZ or even Seonghwa rapping.
9:30 attach the GPS on a suitcase not a car means that Ateez are always touring so they are raely in Korea, so putting it on a car is meaningless, so put it on a suitcase because they are travelling and they are busy touring, and he ends it with saying, you can be busy too . Hope this clarifies .
Was waiting for it thank you for your reaction!! Can you please react to Enhypen's (kpop boy group) mma dance practice 2022,21 and 23 too if possible its really fire I think you'll not disappoint. Will appreciate that.
Matz refers to Hongjoong and Seonghwa as the oldest member in Korean Matz mean 'oldest'. Hongjoong's line "If you want to put a GPS put it on a suitcase, not on a Carnival, You can be busy too" is a references to 2021 where they found GPS trackers on their Kia Carnival. After that line Hongjoong raps how they need to get a life or they can put GPS rather in their luggage becuz they are always travelling around the world so it's useless to put them on their cars.
Matz refers to Hongjoong and Seonghwa as the oldest member (98L) in Korean Matz itself meaning 'oldest' The name of the unit/ship/friendship Hongjoong and Seonghwa itself is Matz since 2020/2021
