I found your channel a few days ago and I think I may start looking around my local thrift stores and searching the retail prices for items that may be worth more than the prices listed. How much would you sell the NC Tarheels ornament for? If the price is reasonable, I may be interested in taking it off your hands. Have a wonderful day!
The U-Haul tshirts reflect all the state illustrations that were depicted on their trucks in the 80s and 90s. There were 2 Or 3 sets of them, and they covered all the states and provinces in Canada. I know cuz I worked on the first round. I was employed, at the time, at their Ad agency.
Goodwill here in NC has gotten ridiculous with their prices. I was told by an employee that, the reason prices are high now is because corporate started this new idea to increase profits. Each district now does quarterly competitions and whichever store makes the most money, the manager of that store gets a bonus. So now the managers are jacking up the prices on everything. Before they would just price to sell, now they are taking the time to look up items before pricing. I was also told the amount of stuff they throw away is insane compared to what they use to throw away. She said theres so much good stuff thrown out everyday that could easily be sold.
When I was a kid we used to make those stuffed animals like your raccoon all the time. They came as a fabric panel that you cut apart and sewed all the pieces together then stuffed. I made so many of these!! My Mom passed last year and when I was cleaning out her fabric stash I found some of the panels that we never cut.
Whenever l go to Good We’ll which is not often. When they ask if l was to round up to the nearest dollar, l tell them NO they are rich enough with out taking my charge. People seem to forget whether it is 1 cent or 49 cents it all adds up to the millions for them.
I had Ricky and I’m 54. I think I was 6 or 7 when I got him. My Aunt made all the cousins the same Rickey and stitched our name on the hat. Good memory. I haven’t seen/thought of that Rickey in 35 years. Thanks.
I’ve found most thrift stores are doing this now. Looking the products up on EBay. One on my favorite thrift use to sale at great prices. Now another lady has taken over and she has ripped that store apart. I don’t patronage the store anymore the prices are way too high for me to make any money to speak about. Very disappointing.
You have so much patience looking through all the junk. I would just walk by most of it. I enjoy how you both seem to enjoy it, and never argue. What a great way to make a living. So much work, I appreciate that.
Our goodWill store is pretty much empty. I think people in my area quit donating to them for nonprofit religious resale shops as well as the womans resources shop. They have plenty of merchandise where Goodwill is pretty much empty anymore.
that box of ornaments was a great deal. You could always put up a small tree in your booth and sell some of the loose ones that way. Our Goodwills still do the misc totes but, not as often as they use to. And they are usually a lot more expensive now. One of the employees brought out a tote of toys like that and told me that she keeps the tote setting by her when going through merch to put out and tosses all the small toys into it until it gets full. Then she tapes it up and puts it on the floor. Thanks for taking us along. Your booth is looking great. Please have Willow make an apperance soon. Love seeing her.
Put a pencil tree in your booth and put the ornaments there for 4 to 7 dollars a piece. We have great success doing that in our booth. Especially themed ornaments.
I just found out the Goodwill where I live. If you work at a Goodwill you get 25% off any other Goodwill place where you live kind of makes me want to get a part-time job two days a week and you get 15 at your store.
There is a waiting period before you are allowed to buy in your own store. At least, my sin had a waiting period. Go to the Woidbury, NJ GoodWill! He's dressed well...good stuff from what I have seen.
You cant buy anything unless it's been on the floor for 48hrs. They keep time on floor for every single item. If they find out you told anyone something that's on floor it's grounds for immediate termination.
My partner is the same. We went to bigger charity shop and I was there for 3 hrs, didn't realise. He sat on the couch in their furniture area😅 now I go on my own usually.
I recently got a coat at goodwill, the price was 7.99. mysteriously, at checkout, the tag disappeared and she called for a price, they then increased it to 14.99. 😮
I bought a coat at Goodwill that was $6.99, but got $5.00 off with Clover, so I think I paid $2.11 with tax. A few years ago, I bought a coat for $12.99 (or less), but it was from Cabella's (brand) and had fur on the hood that was (fox?) (Can't remember the animal, but it was real), that retailed for $159. new. I also bought a leather coat (Ann Klein) for $20 at Salvation Army that was about $125 retail. They had it marked $40., but it was 1/2 price that day.
Put the shelf under the shelf holding the Snowman head.. & Fill it with Merch. See if you can find unbreakable stuff to sit on top of the outer wall.. You might be able to put screw-hooks on the bottom of it to hold your handmade jewelry..
The Christmas tote was Awesome..You can make bck your money times ten.. Nice Sourcing. So glad they weren't grabbing the good stuff to Over-price.. Thanks for taking us along..
I call them the Ill Will. Walked into my local one today, and even brought a cart in out of the lot. Anything good here goes on line, and either the store gets the junk or things that are damaged. Or both. Lots of empty space on the shelves too. I go in and watch for mistakes. Spent $0.00 - the only nice thing on the shelf were some Noritake demitasse cups and saucers I'd already passed up once at an estate sale. The exact cups - there was other stuff from that sale on the shelf too.
Then they must end up throwing out a lot of stuff that never sells. One Goodwill store doesn’t get anywhere near the traffic that eBay does. I have noticed that even on Goodwill's e-commerce site, most items don’t sell for much, if at all..
Is Kayla looking on her camera at a previous picture of the booth to see what is gone? If not, I suggest taking picture(s) each time you restock it... makes it so much easier to keep track. I think Goodwill's prices have gotten pretty ridiculous considering everything is donated to them. They don't need to keep up with inventory prices as if it were costing them to get product. Around here they seem to be throwing stuff in the garbage they recieve so much. 24:09
My mother use to work for a Goodwill. I can only speak for the Goodwill she worked at but they got so much crap over there that they would not have enough time to go through all the items that the management wanted them to. So they had no choice but to do quick guesstimates on most the items just to escape write ups from management. I'm not surprised a lot of the prices don't make sense.
Is that Watt pottery piece a pomander ball? ( small holes) that maybe a very rare piece of that line, that factory burned down in mid 60s. The price could be outrageous if that's a real Watt piece! Good vid.
My brother who's 50 now had a Ricky raccoon when he was a boy. It was a yard of fabric that you bought that had the front and the back on it and you cut it out and sewed it together and filled. My mom put his together.
I know a pricer for Goodwill. Most of the pricers are kids under 25 now, they all are instructed to look products up before pricing them. This is because Goodwill has a auction website where stuff actually worth money gets sent and auctioned off. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff that gets donated. We're talking things worth thousands to tens of thousands. Makeup and clothes are the things that make it through the most. Goodwill puts their most accurate pricers on home goods, purses, shoes and collectables. However clothes, makeup and perfumes often make it to the floor. It's not unlikely in a nice area to find a 150$ tie for instance marked at 2$. But a pair of Jordans will never hit the floor unless seriously worn.
I don't know if you will see this or not, but I thought I would let you know that the turkey's for recipe cards are actually to mark where each person sits at Thanksgiving dinner. I just found your channel 3 days ago, immediately subscribed and have been binge watching ever since.
If the grips are bad on Tennis rackets it's super cheap to replace them. As long as the racket is worth it grab them and refurbish grips. I do it on high quality golf clubs to now but they have to be worth it as club grips are a good bit more expensive than racket tape.
The prince Edward Island shirt, you might add Anne of Green Gables in the title. Old popular books. Prine Edward Island is where the book was base. L M Montgomery was the writer
Do your Goodwill stores stink like BO? I went to my local Goodwill store for the first time yesterday and it just stunk in there. I don't know if all of them are expensive but my local Goodwill store is almost as much as shopping at Walmart. I found a sandwich press there that was $8, I had just bought the exact same thing at Walmart for $10, it just didn't seem like it was worth getting used and not knowing if it even works to save $2
They have a computer in the back at Goodwill and they look up everything anything that is a designer or a namebrand. They will almost always charge you a fraction of what it cost new. I used to work at Goodwill and their prices are outrageous. They wanted $150 for a used for coat, and it wasn’t even real for
For the jacket with the rip/hole in it. Patch it and place a identical patch in the same spot on the other side so it looks like it is supposed to be that way.
I have a plastic My Little Pony Hallmark Ornament that was like being sold for $30 online by different sellers on ebay. It was an older one and it was found at a goodwill by my brother in a bag with another My Little Pony for $2.99. He gets me My Little Pony because I collect them. Keep your eyes out for some older My Little Pony stuff. Even the older 1980's ones go for $30 to $40 if not more sometimes. look at the hooves on them and it will have marks of it being a real My Little Pony. Even newer sets can be worth grabbing to sell online. another My Little Pony I got for $5 at Goodwill was $200 om amazon brand new. it was a animatronic 2ft tall Princess Twilight Sparkle. in used condition that Twilight sparkle goes for around $100.
Something else, so that was funny. You guys were really interested on those shirts, then a squirrel came in clock you were looking at when you’re back at the T-shirts. Thank you for the laugh.
The Ikea piece is much better for scarves, imo! ( : my daughter gas used hers for scarves for years, now! The box of Christmas stuff was amazing and the makeup in tte beginning too! Everything you found today was awesome! ( :
Those knick knacks with the wire sticking out are place setting name card holders.......not recipe card holders although you could use one for holding a recipe card. I make tgose holders for every holiday and send them home with my guests
What a Lucky find with that 7.99 Dollers box full of things. especially the bag full of Ceramic Xmas Toys which must be older because now days most things are made of Resin, plastic so finding these Ceramic Xmas little Decorrations is a lovely little surprise find there proberly a lot of people will Snatch your hand off to buy them so good on you for finding these little Gems Ile be surprised if you have them for long . Now days it's getting more popular people buying vintage, old things out of sentimental reasons also even to give to there family's and children when they get older or simply because they Love items from by gone days. Good Luck selling everything you got
Unless things have changed in the last few years, you can definitely sell used cosmetics online. I used to watch steph of stevensteph do it all the time. She had a video about it. (Their videos were lost to hackers, though.) When I was younger I wore 30 x 30 jeans. I was 5' 3" tall. Don't pass up pants for people like me! The weird hanger is for scarves.
Darlin, "Bull in a China shop" does not do you justice! 😆 🤣 😂 I was in absolute cringe mode the whole time you were digging through that box.... with one hand..... while holding multiple things in said hand! I need to go take my holy basil now! Lol I'm so happy for you, that you got such a great haul! Y'all are really cute! Blessings from Texas!
😳 I found a pair of those snowland boots at a value village in my hometown in Alaska, and I got them and wore them for years until they were destroyed. They were special because I was born with flat feet, and those exact boots have no arch. The ones I bought had no brand name on them as if the label inside had been removed, so I never was able to find another pair. The ones you're holding in this video are ide tical in every way!
Hey, y'all! What a fantastic haul! Love the tub of goodie ornaments, the Sherpa jacket {my color}, and homemade & faded Ricky. Think those uhaul Tees might sell to your tourist customers? The lined box was probably for silverware and would probably have been a good seller. Like your display shelf and if you got the belt hanger display, it would be good for jewelry or scarves, too. Looking at your video behind your back when you got your shelf is a tall, slim black, wire display. It would be perfect for your center floor space without blocking view - if the price is right. Absolutely luv Charlie Brown. Wish I had one to go with my Christmas Tree collection I'm adding this year. I've found like Kayla's large one; smaller white/with lights, clear without bulbs, green/lights, and 1 green without lights that is a music box. I had 1 green music box. Some are vintage and some new. I get so excited with you two. Keep loving what you do! Cat
