Cheezy, The Warning Cave is considered hallowed ground by TWA. A few lucky fans have even jammed with them there in their home! Literally every banger they compose happens in that very room. Fun Fact; They recorded Atlas Rise just four days after hearing it for the first time…FOUR DAYS!
Once upon a time in Ol' Mexico, three young girls recorded a cover of one of their favorite songs and uploaded it to RU-vid so their grandparents could hear them play together. Little did they know how that simple act would change their lives forever. And change the lives of so many others all around the world as well.
That Enter Sandman cover was uploaded because the file was too big to send directly to their grandparents. It was easier to upload it to RU-vid and send a link. As noted it was 8 years ago in 2014 when Dany was 14, Pau was 12 and Ale was 9.
They are good covers, Really good. I still recommend the Atlas Rise version live at Whisky Go Go. So much power there. (And I was there 🙂as up to today the only live show I've been able to visit.)
YES! If you think this live performance was good you need to check out when they did the surprise performance of Atlas Rise after they played their entire set at the Whiskey. It’s BETTER than this!!! They killed it. Incredibly tight and completely on fire.
I recommend now watching Atlas Rise live cover at the Whisky A-Go-Go, even if you don't want to do a RU-vid reaction to it because of today's content (although no one would complain if you did, guarnteed. lol)
You will have to check out their new version of Enter Sandman that they did for the 30th anniversary of the Black Album with Alessia Cara :) this version of Enter sandman was my introduction to the Warning and while I thought it was a great job , I didn't quite bite at the band at the time...I had to wait about a year or two later when I saw their Foo Fighters cover of The Pretender and I was completely sold, that blew my mind and I have never looked back :)
@@Cheezyxyz As also said, when you have the time, drive a little further down the road from here and take a listen to their version of "The Pretender". Nearly sounds as if Dave Grohl wrote the song with the intent of The Warning making it their own.
The new version of Enter Sandman that they did with Alessia Cara was my gateway song into The Warning rabbit hole. I first heard it on a trailer for the Midnight Suns game from Marvel and was blown away! I just HAD to hear the complete version, and needless to say, never looked back.
They have pretty much stopped doing covers in performance other than their new version of Enter Sandman, which arguably isn’t really a true cover. The Pretender Foo Fighters cover (their first official MV) was from 2015 and is great. Also recommend you check out the show they performed in 2015 at their school, Liceo with covers of Crazy Train, Hysteria by Muse (little Ale kills it on the bass), FF Everlong, as well as a couple of their early originals. 👍😎
I had not been a fan of Metallica's Atlas Rise since first hearing it when it came out. It was decent but never grabbed me. This cover made me like the song, this is how good they are. I now enjoy the original as much as this cover, and I have The Warning to thank for that. Wait till you hear their new take on Enter Sandman! There's a reason it's the first track on the Blacklist Album.
@@josephbel7532 I believe it is by song sequence and alphabetical; the rest of the album is organized the same way, and it's a very logical approach. I doubt very much that Metallica would have explicitly picked their favorite for the opening slot; that would be grossly insulting to everyone else on the album. But regardless of why, the Blacklist Album saves the best for first :-)
Actually 8 years ago. Ale 9, Pau 12, Dany 14. Ale's bass is a 3/4 size Gibson in the ES video. They didn't even post this for YT. They put it there for their relatives to watch without having to come to their home to see them. They learned Atlas Rise in 4 days. Glad you chose this video. You reallyget to see them all work their instruments. The Whiskey A-Go-Go video is dark and not visually as good. The other covers are within this same time frame. Muse (resistance, hysteria), FF (everlong, the pretender) Twisred Sister (we're not gonna take it _ Pau sings lead), Guns n Roses (Sweet Child O Mine), Ozzy (Crazy Train), AC/DC (back in black _ Pau sings lead), Motley Crue (kickstart my heart)
What an awesome job their parents did in introducing them to great music in the first place and then getting behind them and supporting them all the way in doing what they loved. It really is a great story and what a joy they are to watch.
Atlas Rise was the end of the road for their covers. Probably my next favorite is The Pretender by Foo Fighters. Age wise it seems to fall in between the two metallica covers, and of course they deliver it with full commitment. There are a couple Muse covers, Hysteria and Resistance, those are good too. A handful of others too that all fall between the two Metallica covers. It's a short timespan but when you are that age a year can make a big difference. Thanks.
I've seen more than a few say that even in some of Ale's original bass lines, you can hear the influence of Chris Wolstenholme of Muse. None of those say that The Warning aren't unique onto themselves though, just little nuances that remind them of Muse, Tool and S.O.A.D.
There are more covers. The best, IMO, are The Pretender by Foo Fighters and the Muse covers. Also check out Ale doing her bass only cover of Muse - Hysteria at age 15 (she learned this at age 10). It has 2.8 million views on YT: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qxs0m7GTBh0.html
Since they were little The Warning demonstrated their great talent with some excellent covers like Enter Sandman & Atlas Rise, today they are the best Rock trio 2022 The Warning in each theme show that they are a very talented Rock group with musically solid themes and lyrics with deep content.
After you finish QOTMS, you should react to their only music videos prior to the latest album, the Foo Fighters- Pretender, and XXI Century Blood. Both were filmed around the same time.
Fun fact! The bass Ale is playing is a Fender Mustang Pawn Shop series. The mustang are Fenders entry level guitars and are 3/4 size. She still has it to this day. Ale eventually went to a white Mustang bass (you can see her playing it opening for Deff Leppard). Unfortunately it was sold as one of the prizes for their Kickstarter for the QOTMS album and it went fast!I
The Enter Sandman they play today is a cover in the same mold as Disturbed's Sound of Silence, or Led Zeppelin's When The Levee Breaks -- the same song, yet not the same song. There are other sings where Dany sings the verses and Pau the chorus, but they do mix it up -- sometimes they will alternate verses, or even (Sinister Smiles) alternate lines between the verses, in that case to tell the story.
Atlas Rise is a mix of two takes. Check out Ale’s hoodies sleeve 😂🤘👍 Love it. My first TW song was their cover of Foo Fighters The Pretender six years ago. After that my world changed. These three amazing sisters saved my faith to rock. Viva The Warning 🔥🤘🇫🇮
GREAT REACTION AS ALWAYS MAN 🤘😜 THIS BEING OCTOBER YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK OUT THE WARNING HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREATING CONCERT 👍 IT'S SUCH A TREAT WATCHING THE VILLARREAL SISTERS IN HALLOWEEN COSTUMES ALE MAKES A CUTE DORTHY FROM THE WIZARD OF OZ😋 2 YRS AGO IT'S A MUST ON YOUR BUCKET LIST👌
The Warning, exceeding expectations. Five years ago? The Enter Sandman cover was eight years ago. Let me caution you against pausing during a guitar solo, especially without rewinding. It is considered a major _faux pas,_ and, to some, a crime. ;) Covers? They don't do covers anymore. In the past, aside from Metallica, they have covered Muse, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Los Claxons, TS, Mötley Crüe, AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne, and KISS (before The Warning). EDIT: And Heart (but you have to join their Patreon to see that!)
Ale- you want a low baseline, you got it. You want some mind blowing riffs, stand back, here it comes! She rarely gets to shine out front, but she can. I have seen some of her Ale day solos, and she is so so talented. In disciple she gets to blast that bass, and does not disappoint. Those fingers are moving a mile a minute, even if she does not look like she is doing much. I love t!his version of Atlas Rise.
One thing you might notice them doing in the Atlas video, and again in the Pretender video, is doing the cover several times to get all the close ups and camera angles. Then they take the best audio take spliced together with all the camera angles to make the video. Makes for a very visually interesting video and made much easier by them having a click track running in their in-ears.
*Fun Fact:* The Warning did a Patreon *Atlas Rise* exclusive video when they played a private gig (A 2017 Kickstarter campaign reward for a donor at a specific level to record their second *Queen of the Murder Scene* album) at Whiskey A Go-Go back in 2019. The video is dark but you can still see. Musically, Whiskeys version trumps The Cave's version. At The Whiskey, that version was that Private gigs *ENCORE* after a nearly a two hour show. *Fun Facts II*: During their last kickstarter of 2019 for their 2020 North American Tour. Two people in England donated enough funds for an reward to have a private gig with The Warning No doubt they will try to have those gigs when they play at the Nüremberg festivals this summer.
@@Cheezyxyz - You should do an reaction to the Whiskey A Go-Go *Atlas Rise* live version. Yeah. It's that good. What I read (through other reactors comments so ... Warning: I could be wrong) that The Warning had a project line up with Metallica. With that. They learned *Atlas Rise.* But that project fell through. Or like it said on the video done at The Cave. They started with Enter Sandman & wanted to end their covers career with another Metallica cover. *Atlas Rise* was chosen.
Hi Cheezy, I am subscribed now, and that's because I'm a The Warning's super fan, and as a TWA member we give our support to those who react to their work, though now you have been warned!!! 2014, when the girls did their cover to Enter Sandman, they were 13, 11 and 8 years old, 2017, when they did their cover to Atlas Rise they were 16, 14 and 11 years old ..... the last cover they did was Atlas Rise, during their performance at the Whiskey A Go Go, annndddd, the record lable excutives were there #TheWarningQueensOfRock #TheWarningReinasDelRock
Just watched this reaction again after seeing your first take on "Revenant" and "Money". Didn't quite catch it the first time through, but your first pause on "Atlas Rise" is a great hair moment! hahaha
In case someone didn't already mention it, their cover of Enter Sandman was almost 9 years ago. Ale was only 9 years old, Pau 12, and Dany 14! Today, they're so good, I honestly can't imagine where they'll go next!
Thanks for the wayback machine reaction. A friend sent me a link to the Sandman video a long time ago. I thought it was cute and really well done for their ages. I don't think anyone at that time knew where they were going. I have never been a fan of Metallica, and particularly got tired of Sandman over the years. Until their colab with Alessia Cara. Four talented women re-imagining that story as a creepy lullaby. So different; so good. The Atlas Rise performance at the Whiskey is quite impressive (again, not necessarily for a reaction, but for your own enjoyment). One last cover you might also appreciate is their version of Foo Fighters 'Pretender'. I actually think that is their best cover video. The covers are great and give nice examples of their development timeline getting to today where their original music has grabbed so many of us.
the area they live in must have a wealth of musical talent the three of them put in the work to gain the skill level thair at but they had many teachers in thair area that they live super inpressed
Atlas Rise is my favorite cover of theirs along with The Pretender by Foo Fighters. I like both of those songs and DPA just killed it with both. You're exactly right about Ale's bass in that cover, it really cuts through and Dany shows that she can definitely handle long solos. I like what they did having Pau sing the chorus of Atlas Rise as well. I always love seeing adorable Ale tapping her little foot in those sandals in the Enter Sandman cover, Idk how she grew so much in such a short amount of time lol!
There is a video they made not too long ago of the three of them critiquing this performance of Enter Sandman. It's pretty funny to hear their comments, especially about using the wah-wah. There is also a video of TW performing Atlas Rise on stage at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go at the end of a long set. It's actually a little more polished even though you can tell they are exhausted, especially Ale. I think that is the last time they performed a cover live, except for their reworking of Enter Sandman, of course.
You can see their stage personalities right then and there. Pau just looks badass and in full control of herself, Dany already has the fierce face down, and Ale is just *seems* innocent and calm... Edit: Pau looks at you like she could melt steel. When I saw them in May I couldn't stop watching her. I even held up a big sign saying, "PAU IS CRAZY!" Dany yelled that she agreed with me. Ale turned around and looked at Pau who shrugged her shoulders, laughing.
And now that you’ve done their first Enter Sandman cover that went viral and launched them into the mainstream, you’ll need to check out their collab of the same song with Alessia Cara that they did by invitation on Metallica’s Blacklist album. It’s an official music video.
The Pretender is my favorite cover of theirs, they really bring it out of the cave and rock it to the max, shh don't tell the Foo's but I Like The Warnings version better.
Need to check out Pau covering Creep by RadioHead. She was challenged on Instagram to learn the song and record it in 4 hours. Love your reactions. Keep up the awesome work.
@@donaldkirk1850 Not for Atlas Rise. It was recorded 3 years later. He was commenting on how they must have been teenagers when they played Atlas Rise, so 12.
