You can pull the engine out in 15 minutes. You could have freed it easily because the engine is easy to strip down. All this consmetic stuff is a waste of time.... fix the #### engine!

I disagree @user-ej5zp6dw5v I have an Imp (1965) and prior to doing all the welding etc have polished and cleaned it as if it were a car in 'showroom' condition. There are various reasons for this. One being it gives you a great idea of how bad or good the body is, makes the task ahead seem less daunting and is just a great mojo-boost. A bit like having a clean tidy workshop makes for better work. There is also the aspect that instead of sending the car away for sand-blasting or getting a drum of paint-stripper on it you may realise that it could look great with a lot of its original paint retained
