This whole entire video is exactly how I feel about my hair. I have the same exact length of hair. It’s usually pretty curly after I shower but it has gotten so long that it is mostly straight and fluffy with lots a dead/split ends. I really want to cut my hair but I’ve been growing it for almost 3 years and I feel like I can’t stop now and that all of those years of growing my hair would be wasted. My head hurts when I tie my hair up and I can’t do much with it. I really love doing double French braids and many people call it my signature hairstyle. When I cut my hair it gets layered and it gets pretty hard to braid my hair when it is short. Lots of people know me for super,long, thick hair and I feel like an important part of me would be gone. I also play sports so my hair is not easy to manage because I always have to braid it when I play. I hate showering because I have to clean my hair every time and I use so much conditioner. I know it’s just hair and it will grow back but it’s really an important part of who I am. I really want to cut it but I’m super nervous that it would be the wrong decision. It’s also summer so cutting my hair would make swimming and doing other stuff easier and going into high school I feel like I need to clean up my hair. I also use my hair as a conversation starter when people come up to me and ask about it. I feel like my hair is what makes me stand out so idk. Ok I’m done ranting and complaining. I think this is my first time seeing someone who is also Asian with similar hair texture as me ;; I am Filipino and I used to always straighten my hair from mid school to high school and always hated my curly hair. I had a classmate in middle school tell me I don’t look Asian cause my hair was curly and my skin was darker than most of my friends’.. All my cousins and friends had straight hair and I always wished mine was straight for so long especially when I had friends say they don’t like curly hair for themselves and are glad they have straight hair... until I got to college and stopped caring (too busy to care tbh) but I’m starting to like my hair a lot more :’> I’m glad there’s someone who is Asian out here with similar hair texture cause I honestly thought I was the odd one out :’> so I also thank you Nina! :’>
