This is crazy. I mean how fast you put it together and how well it drives. Very skilled and talented. I’ve been following since the black car build. This channel should and will have a lot more subscribers.Possibly offer this as a service I know we all wish the GPS and MCs were rear wheel drive
I have so much respect and love for what you've been able to envision, engineer, and put to the actual road with this project, and it's been such a joy to follow. Please keep creating and innovating, you're doing incredible work keeping a truly underappreciated platform alive, how it should have been designed to begin with.
Smoking rocks will definitely make you very ambitious for about 12 minutes but after that you have to smoke another rock and another rock and another rock, and maybe one more for the road, that you now have to walk on because you're a crackhead, obviously you don't have a driver's license but you'll get yours back right after we smoke this rock and start working on your car. Hey man, do you have a lighter I can use for a minute? 😂
Please get this car finished and to LS fest. This is how these cars should’ve been done. V8, rear wheel drive , and a manual transmission. GM dropped the ball with these cars. 😢
This is absolutely amazing. I still drive my 06 gxp. Wish I had a lot more motor and rwd. This is right up my alley and I thank you so much for motivating me.
This is the first video of yours that I have watched so first off AMAZING BUILD!!! 2nd off, in case you didn’t already know, in regards to the engine breaking up (I can not hear it in the video but I will take your word for it) when you boost an engine you need to make the spark plug gap smaller. Maybe that is why it is breaking up. Awesome work, I can’t wait to go back and watch your videos 👍
This is dope! I have a 94 Grand Prix that I would love to make a sleeper with a RWD LS swap. Yours is probably the closest I’ll get to seeing the process, definitely checking out the rest of your videos
Saw this on an FB Reel or clip and wanted to know more and now here I am This Is Amazing This Is Really What Pontiac Should Have Done With the Grand Prix even the supercharged one was kinda weak compared to this beauty Awesome Work Buddy 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼💯
Hello Tyler, very good work, it's always nice to see someone that is passionate about what they love especially when it's a car, listen, you are talented at this, nobody else does this and even if they did it was only once. You have plenty enough costumers, I'm sure you realize this by now, I'd be willing to work for you bro
That's the way these things SHOULD'VE came from the factory, FWD was the one thing that absolutely sucked about the W-Body platform. Other than that, I believe its one of the best chassis GM has ever designed.
Haven't yet. Hoping to put it on the scale at LSFest. And the goal here is to make this thing handle on rails. That's why I went with the suspension that I did. Coilovers are one of the next things it'll be getting along with upgraded swaybars, brakes, and poly bushing in due time.
how much did both builds cost all together? sounds like a BEAST… & both cars are awesome.. some 5%-20% tint all the way around would look SICKNASTY! & i feel like a vented hood would make that monster look MEAN😂 but i’m guessing you want it as lowkey as possible for the sleeper effect 🔥💯 also i LOVE the interior, love it when people put more modernized or just plain cool looking dashes in a completely different car..
If I had to guess I would say each one is in the 10k range without any sort of labor cost obviously. Give or take some. The red car actually ended up with some temporary hood vents. The heat in the engine bay was too much and needed a place to evacuate. TINT IS A MUST haha just haven't gotten there yet. I appreciate the feedback!
@@AutoTechTyler Thanks man. That is comforting to know, as I am actually otw right now to look at an 04 with a blown motor and trans for $400. Figured I’d give it a go with it being so cheap, and I’ve replaced so many 4l60s that I couldn’t fathom putting one back into it
No. Gave up my shop 4 years ago when I left Ohio to move to North Carolina to be here for my daughter. Just fortunate enough to be able to use it after hours.
Yes. The back requires a little modification to go in on a stock car (this took a bit more because of the additional hump), but it is very straightforward.
@AutoTechTyler ok nice , yea I just want the fronts so yay :) And nonetheless, great work man !! Wish we were closer , I'd have a ball seeing this magic in person
Simple answer: Because I didn't want a GTO. Answer with substance: Buying a GTO doesn't give me hands on experience in what doing this has. Resourcing, Planning, Welding, Fabricating, Tuning, Electrical, ETC....Being a consumer and just buying a car gives me nothing, but a car. Being a creator and making a car gives me an immense amount of satisfaction, self worth, and experience. Not to mention the amount of self discipline that is required to achieve something like this. Besides, neither car has a single part from a GTO. Heck, the black car has a 9" ford straight axle in it and the red one can use any suspension upgrades that a 15+ mustang can which is great considering how big that platform is compared to the very limited GTO stuff. I could go on and on, but I'd be here typing all day. Maybe I'll just have to make a video about it.
I'm all about home built and budget builds but I couldn't do this. Too many random wires hanging, trim pieces falling or gone, unbolted parts... Etc. I'm not saying it needs to be a show build, just finish what you start before moving on to the next thing.
Never said I was trying to save anything. Didn't realize that just buying a gto would magically give me first hand experience in fabrication, welding, tuning, self discipline, and resourcing. Guess I should've realized that gtos sit on s550 suspension, have 5x4.5 bolt pattern, electric power steering, and the plethora of other differences that there are considering that these are grand prixs and a gto is a gto. Silly me. What was I thinking?
Man i felt like i was missing some videos, but looks like youve just been bustin butt to get it done. Props to you man! I forgot, but what trans are you running?
@mattbusinger643 yeah I kind of skipped over some things. Would have been hard to keep up with all that recording and editing on top of working a full time job and trying to meet the close deadline haha. I used an AR5 5 speed manual from a colorado.
