‪@HotoneAudio‬ released the Scenes update for the Ampero Stomp recently, and I got asked to try an Eric Johnson clean and lead preset. This preset will also work on Hotone Ampero Stage!

I have an Ampero. One of the most useful approaches when trying to replicate a sound is recording a part on the looper, let it loop, and then start tweaking the chain's parameters: I can concentrate on the result in real-time, without having to play, stop, edit, play again, adjust...

Scenes change everything. Last night I was playing around with the new JP amp models and they sound killer, but the highlight was being able to make a Clean/Rythm/Lead set of scenes and how seamless the transition between them feels. I was already gigging my Stomp, but now it just got better.

Very Nice opening, Nice Quick build from the modelling Expert. Noticed bits of SRV, 40 mile town and cliffs of course. Sounds enough like him to PASS for Sure, and you built it in like 4 or 5 minutes. Experience counts for sure.

John no one does EJ better than you! I have to say those are some pretty impressive EJ tones. Maybe a little flubby on the low end on the OD scene but overall great clarity and definition.

Great video sound and playing. I see you are always using strat for getting these clean and lead tones please use guitars with split coils for good tones too in split mode and humbucker too(both in neck and bridge pickups). Thanks for the great tutorials and inspirations.

Awesome playing man! I am just wondering how does the ampero react to external pedals (Dist, Drive etc) I planning to buy one but I'm just a bit concern when I integrate it to my pedal board 😆

I gig it with drive pedals in front and it sounds and feels incredible. As good if not better than then the HX stomp I used to run on my board. Hope that helps. Cheers!

Hey JNC, if I purchase your preset bundle from gumroad, do I need to buy it again in 6 months for example as new ones are added, or will it allow me to redownload the new (updated) file later on? I assume the answer is yes, but just wanted to check. Cheers

I have a Ampero 2 Stomp and I don’t know what reference Hotone used to make a Fender Twin model but to me it doesn’t sound like a Twin. I use a twin in one of the places i play here in Brazil and even tho is not my favorite amp in the world is not thaaaat bright. My favorite clean amp inside of the Ampero is the “Black Prince”.

Amps vary, even within the same model. Depends on the tubes, tolerances within the pots and other components, and circuit revisions. It's hard to say that an amp sounds like this or that, because there are many different versions. Google "Fender Twin too bright" and you will see many results and discussions.

Because you need to upgrade to firmware 2.0, and you need to do with the soft, and them the old soft is no longer supported and need to use the new app like ampero stage

There's some weird high pitch cycling sounds that can be heard through headphones that occur around 13:20 and other times on the clean tones. Is that in the Modeler or interference from something else in your signal chain or environment?

Hi mate, how’s going? How do you configure your Ampero Stomp in your DAW when recording? I’ve been getting a lot of problems recently! When I listen back to what I just recorded it sounds thin and less quality. - How many dBs do you set up at the REC Levels? - How do you set the Output Source and FX Source? Normal or USB Only? - Do you turn off monitoring from DAW?

I don't use the Ampero Stomp as the audio interface - I normally just have the audio interface inputs set to minimum, and the Ampero output set so it doesn't clip?

Hotone is an unfortunate name. If it was hot one, then fair enough, but Ho Tone. Thot tone would be an improvement.

It's Hot - Tone, but spelt in a really weird and goofy way. They brought it on themselves, in terms of all the different ways people say it.. Ho Tones.. Thot Tone.. Hot One.. etc..
