Hi Friends, this was a difficult story to share because it brought back a lot of old trauma. In fact it took me several weeks to get myself back to a good place. But I hope that sharing my experience will help someone else going through something similar to not feel so alone.
Hugs, Adelina

I have known many Franklins in my life both male and female in my family and workplaces. I am about to turn 70 and spent the last few years in therapy. I spent years waiting for the other shoe to drop because it was always inevitable. I’m now retired and have banished those people from my life. I can’t begin to tell you how lovely it is to wake up everyday without a huge rock on my chest.

It really is lovely. I simply don't allow anyone like that in my personal world now. And professionally I set hard boundaries.

I was married for 36yrs to this type of person and finally escaped. I was sick all the time and literally felt like I was going to die young if I continued to stay. I’ve been free for 6yrs now and living my best life at the young age of 69. (I’ll be 70 in September ☺️) I definitely experienced PTSD. My best years are ahead of me! Thank you for sharing your story. No wonder I’ve felt like you’re a kindred spirit and love your videos. Much love❤️🇨🇦

I needed to hear this today. I have been divorced 19+ years but my ex was this type of person and we were married almost 15 years. I did some counseling afterwards which helped but I still had triggers for years and financial worries still make some of those old self-doubts creep in. But I have come so far and have blessings of good health, a good employer, and live in a beautiful location. Thanks for your video.

I worked for Franklin for 12 of my 15 yrs at a company... ptsd is real.. it's been almost 5 yrs and watching this video brings it all back and at the same time reminds me how strong i have become. Definitely learned to walk away from such treatment now and what im okay with and not OK with . So spot on with the story and information she is sharing. Today i acknowledge your strength and all of those who have been through this or going thru this. You are not crazy... part of this is the reason people call it crazy making. Repeat after me... Im a valuable individual I'm important and I matter, it's OK to take care of myself...😊 Stay kind but stay strong. Don't let others make your heart hard and closed off Edit... Wanted to add the first time I learned of what a narcissist was from searching and learning while trying to protect myself and my job. I cried really hard and that's when the strength and healing began.

I worked with someone that could be described as a Narcissist. They had a way of undermining people, telling you something then denying it, stripping people of confidence. They took delight in emailing in great detail how wrong you were. (Even if they were wrong) I left the team and work with a lovely team now and have regained my confidence. People like this should never manage people. The hard thing is though they always get promoted.

Oh I am so very sure thousands more than 1 person needed to hear this. You should write a book on this!! You have blessed so many by telling your own story here. Just in knowing one isn't alone, walked your similar journey in one way or the other, and gotten to the other side and not only "seen the light", but are now walking, living, breathing in the light. For me? It's by the Grace of God I had courage rise up within me and shut it down. I had to. My former sister in law would have used me throughout this life until my last breath. And once I did get to the other side of it? It does indeed take time to see where you've been, walking slowly out of PTSD. You can hardly believe you were in such a place. I no longer wear ANYONE's dog collar, nor do I "sit, stay, and fetch" on command.

Thank you for explaining this so eloquently. My father is outwardly charming & at home was as you describe (and an aggressive alcoholic to just add to the mix). I am nearly 60, I have had no contact for over 10 years. The exhaustion of always waiting for the other shoe to fall is diminishing. I was given ill health retirement (not something I would have wished for) 7 years ago following an ongoing terrible work situation which triggered similar responses. I finally had therapy and was diagnosed with complex PTSD. I actually found that diagnosis hard to accept, I associated it so much with military personnel & the terrible things they see & experience. I did not see my circumstances as nearly so serious. My Clinical Psychologist was brilliant, I am grateful for her every day. The damage these people do is immense - I can spot them a mile off now & it concerns me how often these beahviours are seen in people with power when they are clearly unfit. Thank you ❤️

Oh my goodness, I totally believe your stories, because I worked for a similar person. They were hired the same week that I was, and something about them made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. They were very charming IF you were on their good side. The rest of us, not so much. They worked their way up to a supervisory position, even though the hiring committee for that job was sent 20+ pages of why they should NOT be hired. I had SO many coworkers come into my office, shut the door, and burst into tears over the years. Yikes. This person finally crossed a line that even our higher ups couldn't ignore, and they were escorted off the premises. Double yikes. I've never met anybody so MEAN before.

You are now a stronger person and the lessons learned can help throughout your life and experiences with others. When I parted ways with my narcissistic boss I told them I was great full for “finding my voice”. Before working for them I never spoke up if I didn’t agree or didn’t like something that was said to me. That has changed. I worked for 3 Franklins in my my life. The movie one of them reminded me of was a woman like Sigourney Weaver in Working Girl. I had one guy I had to bail out of jail for driving drunk in his Mercedes. One time I had emergency calls and texts because he lost his credit card and he couldn't fill up his yacht and pay for his slip. PTST for sure when I left, I was always in panic mode trying to "predict" the next issue.

Absolutely excellent video, Adelina. I know that sharing your difficult experience will be so very helpful for so many folks here. (I feel so fortunate to have had a great lifelong career experience, and sincerely have always felt valued), but I do have an older family member who went through exactly what you have described. She is brilliant, hardworking and so kind. It just made me so angry, to learn all that she had endured, when she ultimately opened up about it. Thankfully, she finally made a mental plan of action, put it into place, escaped the situation and was able to move forward! She has thrived and blossomed! She feels invincible and empowered, due to her following through with the difficult decision to get out of that lucrative (but thankless) career, but she did it! Now, she has a top executive position in a career she loves, where she is appreciated and receives the respect and salary she deserves. Next year she finally retires and I couldn’t be happier for her. I know what you have shared today will inspire folks to recognize the signs you mentioned (whether it’s in a job, or personal relationship), and hopefully get them to thinking about manifesting the future they truly deserve! Thanks, Adelina! Abrazos! 💜

Adelina, as I was listening to this I thought that there are so many people who need to watch this video. Many years ago I was working for a woman and had a similar situation where I was staying at the office late in order to try to complete an important project, when she called and wanted to me to change a flight for her - something that she could very easily have done herself. I had had a previous totally ridiculous situation with her, at which point I marched straight into HR and said "I quit" and why. Now I grew up as Miss Goody Two Shoes who was programmed to do what she was told, so that was a BIG DEAL. The HR Manager asked me to just take a couple of days off, and actually the VP of the company had a meeting with me and said "Yeah, we know what she's like, but just hang in there and we have your back." Well, when this new situation occurred (and there were many others smaller infractions in between) I just told her no, and I left the project I was staying late to work on, and I just walked off the job and never went back. I felt REALLY proud of myself for standing up to her. I know how difficult it is, and how easy it is to second guess yourself, and I can totally get the PTSD. They are master manipulators. So glad you escaped! Thank you for sharing. And I think you should now do a video about what Jack Canfield said about manifesting what you really want! Because that truly is phase 2 of this kind of situation. We rarely understand just how powerful we are, or how to engage that power!

Good that you shared this situation with your followers. I am sure it was beneficial for you but may help may help others who are currently struggling with some similar situation. You explained the narcissist well. I am a therapist and have also had a similar relationship but it was personal. Many things can trigger those past feelings and it definitely takes time to heal. Glad that you did, despite those feelings returning occasionally .

Oh my gosh Adelina today's video explained the previous video that gave you the technological problems. The expressions on your face were troubling; this was not our Adelina. I was hesitant to comment, fearing that I might ❤say the wrong thing and make you feel worse. I'm so relieved to see the real you back with us. PTSD is exactly what I saw on your face; watching you describe how you worked yourself out of it was very instructive. Thank you so much for sharing that with us.❤

Thank you for sharing this! I can't even imagine what that must've been like for you and I'm so glad you got out and made such an amazing life for yourself. I am curious, since you said you didn't go to therapy, what kind of work you did on yourself to help get past this? I know I should see a therapist but I'm an Adult Child of Alcoholics and not asking for help is one of our things. I know WHY I do the things I do but can't get past that. And I'd love to hear some techniques that might help me work through my own trauma. But! I totally understand if you'd rather keep something like close to the vest. Thank goodness! But now you have really explained this topic so well! I finally get it! Sorry you had to be in that position of having to work for this of person and couldn’t escape! Oh … your Sugar Honey Ice Tea and go Blind has a second part … So I will just close one eye and fart! As a retired family therapist, I appreciate you doing this video and following your calling. It will help someone in some way to wake up and maybe get help. Being married to a narcissist can be very hard to leave especially with children. A good older book, The Sociopath Next Door” I remember as being helpful. Reading or watching videos to learn about what is a sociopath or narcissist can help one understand what they are dealing with. However, therapy can help you not pick another one for a partner again or stay too long in a job with one.

Thank you for sharing this situation you found yourself in. Four years ago I found myself in a similar case. I got to a point that before I started every shift at my place of work I would throw up because I felt so intimidated. The plant manager and second in command were the spitting image of Franklin. Better yet you had to be careful what you say to certain people because they would always run to them and tell half-truths about what you said( I used to say it was the gossip line) It wasn't until one day I came home early and told my wife what I was accused of cried for an hour straight to her that I knew I had to exit stage left sort of speak. I went through therapy which I was doing anyway because I was suffering from depression and anxiety issues which they both knew. It was a very cruel game to them!!! To make someone like me suffer. My name is Dan Bulger and I am proud to say that leaving that toxic workplace was the best thing for my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Like you, I still have those feelings and thoughts in the back of my head about anyone I meet on a day-to-day basis(who wouldn't). However, I know I'm in a better place of healing.

Good for you Dan. It's hard to describe how a situation like that can make you feel. And how the effects linger a long time. You did it! It's silly but somehow it works. ❤️❤️

Thank you so much for sharing. I unfortunately have experience of this in both personal and professional areas. 7 year abusive relationship with a psychopath and 15 years working for a narcissist has ended in me off sick for 3 years now and still counting. PTSD, agoraphobia, panic disorder and burnout. Its such an eye opener that their behaviour was so destructive but I just didn't know and am an empath so they manipulated me to their advantage. I am repairing both emotionally and physically and trying to learn how to trust other people again. Also have been gaslit an unbelievable amount of times which now I am aware of gaslighting I am hoping I can challenge it in the future. Thank you for bringing this to the fore ans spreading the knowledge. ❤

The managers name became a verb for basically absolutely ripping someone apart. She also used to pick on people in turns so we would never know who was next. She made so many people cry but apparently it was never personal... it was all about the data apparently. Sadly this person is still in a top management position for a very successful large global company and is mentoring other managers to follow her methods. I can only hope others do not become sick like I did and they get out in time. I feel a strong sense to spread the word to raise peoples awareness of what's not right to hopefully help others but have to recover myself first. So once again thank you ❤

Sorry last comment from me :-) honest. But you really have resonated with me so much and the health element is such an unspoken thing. Unfortunately 4 of my colleagues have passed away in the last 15 months. This can't be a coincidence but given its a large company this is just seen as unfortunate and could never ever be related to the stress they were put under. I hope one day corporations have to be made accountable because this can't go on.

@@myBIGtinyhouselife so so true. When you realise that what's going on isn't right its both a relief and utterly devastating that you've gone 40 years with society just nodding along smiling as if nothings wrong (and feel utterly pathetic for believing it). It took a mental health practitioner to tell me that what was happening to me in work was not ok and was actually bullying. The only way forward I can see is people speaking about it and spreading the word. ❤

Thank you for this reminder. What hit me the most was how Franklin was really nice for a couple days after one of his narc performances. Trying to compensate, not because he felt remorse for hurting you, but in order to keep you where he wanted you so he could keep using you. It would only be a question of time before Mr. Hyde re-appeared. I’d forgotten about that and needed the reminder to protect myself. I understand about the PTSD - I’m much better now but it’s an ongoing process.

I had a terrible boss once. It was a union job, and I had 10 years already invested in it. So the job was very important to me. Our new boss said that he knew our contract better than we did, and i believe he was right. He was always suspending staff or firing them, and all they could do was grieve it, and the grievance process takes a long time. Everyone was nervous. Everyone kept their heads down. He also cut a lot of corners to save money, so at first, he looked good to his boss. But then so many people quit because he was so awful, so he left for a "better" job. I didn't quit. My husband has health issues, and i was our main breadwinner. But after five years this horrible boss left. I worked there for another 15 years and then retired with a good pension. I hadn't thought about him in years. Your story reminded me of him in a way. He wasn't exactly like your boss, but he was completely awful.
