My name is Keith Newton, and I have been a professional woodworker for several decades now. I've made everything from dining tables to custom guitars and violins. In this video, I fix my mistake form yesterday and my camera guy asks me a few questions.

Love the aggressive approach. Real life shop style.

I regret not writing this comment yesterday but you should probably invest in a jointer, I know they’re the absolute worst thing to tune up (currently tuning mine in) but that whole process would have been completed a lot quicker with the help of a jointer, plus the jointed faces running through the thicknesser takes a shit load less toll on the rollers and blades..peace from Sydney Australia

"if I'm doing it on the right side..... which I'm not". Exactly. Anything that comes down to 50/50 means I'm 90% chance going to do it wrong.

Is your domino plugged into your dust extractor even though you aren’t using it for dust collection? Interesting approach!

Keith do you make the belts for the big sanders? or are they standard lengths you can purchase? If you're making them it would be interesting to see the process

I wish for you that you can keep making furniture and making these videos for us. As a young woodworker starting from scratch I’m absorbing them like a sponge 🧽🙏

So after all the time this took would this justify an addition of a jointer to the shop?…..I am a complete rookie(so I do not know better)but it seems to me that all these issues would have been avoided if the lumber had been accurately dimensioned with a jointer/planer?

Too dangerous for me. Although I do have a tiny one I never use. I prefer the long sander.

I own a woodworking business and I use a jointer, but I will say the way Keith is able to make these joints with a bandsaw and edge sander is very impressive. Takes a lot of skill and mastery with those tools

The cost of the grocery store swiftness might just be more potential disasters?

I’ve never seen anyone use a domino with no dust extractor.
