Jup. Although i still recommend replacing those batteries because files seem to corrupt sometimes on the pocket.. and bat battery’s dont do the cartridge any good.

That’s what I ended up doing especially since I kept hearing about how they weren’t responding to customers and delaying a bunch of orders with no explanation. Not for no reason mind you, but just no explanation

i didnt need another system but the quality of the pocket is amazing.once i have finished links awakening on my rg353p i will be starting oracle of ages on the pocket@@GriffithFromBerk

I guess the $20 difference to ship across the pond might seem like better value than $30 national shipping, but the rest of us get stung by import tax as well.

@@TheMultiGenGamer That's true, but it would go for any non-EU product no? I think we're one of the few countries without VAT (which personally I am thankful for). That said tho the EU shipping should be cheaper than it is as well, so I feel for you guys. Our tax is about 6% here so 20% seems pretty steep to me. It seems like they're doing orders in reverse too, I've seen people order this week and getting them now when I haven't even had mine sent out and ordered a month ago. Analogue have some very bad business practices...hoping the device makes it worth it as I waited for it to have a bit more support to order.

Yea i tried to buy it in the past and the black and white used to be $249 and shipping was always $30 i just remember it would have costed me $300 and change. Surprised it came down to $219

Dunno why ppl want to play gba on their tvs. U could just get a emulation device and achieve the same thing

The Pocket's power supply is actually universal, meaning it supports and accepts all voltages and frequencies. You just need a passive adapter to adapt the prongs and those should only cost a couple bucks. It's not ideal but it is a fairly cheap solution at least. But otherwise since the pocket and dock only support USB PD any good brand of USB C charger will work just fine. I charge mine with the same Anker bricks I use for all my other handhelds without any issues.

Blame apple for that ever since iphones stop coming with chargers lots of companies stopped it to save money. Now if you want a charger u gotta pay extra

Its because emulation is software based and analogue imitates the hardware based emulation.

Analogue pocket has corning glass so it dont need a screen protector. Doubt ppl even know what corning even means

Im gettin it to play pokemon games but roms dont have real time clocks so you cant get the night day cycle unless you have real carts but i guess pokemon rom hacks should be fine to play instead

It has rtc for gb and gbc games using buds core.

So dock is to play all the other cores? I have retroarch so i dont even need a dock to play on my tv

@@TheMultiGenGamer you can reduce the latency in the core settings in retroarch. yes, i am using garlicos. and even the analogue pocket is overprized, i am not saying it is crap... i own three of them myself, but for collecting ^^

Cheers! I've had a play around with it and its definitely improved, but I can still tell its there. Seems it can only get down to ~10ms before the sound starts crackling. Does make a great argument for the little Anbernic though, as it can be tuned to be really close and its much cheaper than the Analogue. For those who want to play around with the setting: Retroarch main menu > Settings > Latency > Audio Latency (ms) 👌

Correct its corning gorilla glass it protects against deep scratches but not the micro scratches which could be why ppl want screen protectors

Doubt ur steam deck can play actual game boy cartridges. It wasnt originally a emulator it got added later on. Analogue is the most premium gameboy experience and also does the steam deck fit into ur pockets?

Huh? Any modern LCD will be far ahead of the motion blur and ghosting on the very consoles which are being emulated. Original GB, GBC, GBA, GG, Lynx etc all suffered from this due to their screens using tech from the 80s and 90s. The Pocket screen is extremely responsive and low latency due to it being a VR display. If it’s use in VR did not cause motion sickness then it is easily capable of eliminating motion blur present in 30+ year old handhelds.

The Pocket doesn't have motion blur, the pixels swap fully before it refreshes. That's because it's not the same LCD tech as you find in modern phones or monitors but was specifically made for VR applications. That said the tech can't do 240hz or higher like modern OLED tech can, OLED is still able to turn on and off much faster. But for the 60hz only games this does not matter in the least.

​@@RAHelllord It's just an LTPS LCD, which only offers slightly higher refresh rates and slightly higher luminance, but the Analogue Pockets LTPS LCD has only a 30-62Hz frequency range, though it does have VRR which is cool, but it still has the typical high motion blur of all sample & hold displays, hopefully Analogue will upgrade their Pocket V2 with a 5K SAMOLED (RGB-Stripe) with 120Hz and integrated driver level BFI, better yet, a raster-scan or RBFI algorithm screen modulation update method, they could even have the secondary FPGA running as a frame-buffer-free race-the-beam method, this can be done at 30/60 FPS and give immaculate input-response times and motion clarity, it would be handheld perfection. I'm actually designing a MiSTer handheld at the moment, which I plan on using a Sony RGB-OLED I harvested from a 7.8 inch 16:10 BVM I have, and it has Sony's exclusive native rolling-scan CRT emulation built in, which has immaculate 60Hz motion-clarity and just under 0.5ms of input-response, basically it will be the nest best thing to having a full-fat CRT handheld, I just need to design the case and controller layout, I plan on using a Pico Pi microcontroller, hall-effect analogue on the left, and micro-switch 8-way stick/d-pad combo, buttons and bumpers, analogue triggers, and for the right analogue I plan on using an optical micro-trackball for precision control in FPS, Arcade, N64 games etc, and dual side paddles either side on the right & left of the handheld that I can easily manipulate with my thumbs for paddle games like Tempest, only thing then is to sort out the audio, which I have a spare Pi Zero 2 W for MIDI and FM-Synthesis, or I may use a real OPL3 chipset, along with a nice DAC and headphone AMP, should be an amazing build, though will take me another 6 months from now, who knows, Analogue may beat me to it with the V2 Pocket.

Another person pushing this false narrative, the black & white version were literally available to preorder for months and are now back in stock once they did the limited edition drops(certain ones of these were available for several hours after release).

I just ordered one since Black and White are readily available on the website and it says expected to ship February.

You can literally go to Analogues store and order one right now. Stop listening to whatever you hear and actually do some research of your own.

They should sell the limited edition shells separately so just buy black or white and change the case out would be the better option

Or you just use the Pocket to load ROMs from SDCard and play them on by far the absolute best screen in the retro industry without having to deal with stuff like retroarch

@@SlCKB0Y-sb1kgit’s a good screen, no doubt. But the controls are, sadly, terrible. I’d rather have better controls and a slightly worse screen. There’s also little benefit to FPGA over emulation these days, as other devices like this are fast enough and with good enough emulators, that it’s almost indistinguishable. I’m not gonna sell my Pocket, but I doubt I’ll use it much now.
