FINALLY HEARING - ERRA "Dementia" - "Augment" ALBUM REACTION / REVIEW 

Junior year of college for me but same. Loved this album walking to classes.

He uploaded Dementia reaction to lure his subs into thinking he will love the rest of the album but he didn't even appreciate anything on it and I was shocked 😲 he fanboys over fit for a king generic bullshit choruses and doesn't even give a single con to it that's when i came to know he's just a biased crappy reactor.

Lyrically. This was definitely their peak. I feel like Self-Titled comes kinda close, but jfc the writing on Augment has yet to be matched imo.

The thing for me with Erra's lyrics in general is how vague and, like, nebulous they are; it's hard to cling to a subject matter when the title of the song is something inane like "MYTHUS CORTEX". As someone who listens to their music for the ambience and soaring melodies, the lyrics have always sounded pretty pretentious to me. With a song like "Dementia" though, I instantly know what the subject matter is so I can get a grasp of the emotional weight behind the lyrics, in turn giving the different sections of the song and the "journey" it takes you on, purpose. That's why it's my favourite Erra song. With a lot of their other songs though, it feels like big words thrown together for the sake of ambiguity. Still love their music though, I just generally don't care for the lyrics.

Garrison's vocals when reciting those beautiful lyrics will surely send your soul into different dimension

I completely agree. As an ERRA fan since Impulse, the emotions this song makes me feel every single time I listen to it...you just can't compare any other song to Dementia. And that's saying something considering ERRA's insane list of bangers.

I started listening when they released Moments of Clarity, and while Augment was my favorite, I think their self titled album is just as good. I also loved Drift when it released which I know many people did not, but I really disagree with saying they'll never come close to what they've done before

@@Ep1cRainbow their self titled is good but doesn’t hit like augment or impulse those albums had an aggressive sound. Their new stuff like vanish canvas, shadow autonomous, divisionary etc, they’re good it’s just soft sounding bruh! It’s not bad. I just prefer their old aggressive sound.

That’s what happens when you change band members.

The self titled album and the deluxe songs are their magnum opus in my opinion. I recognize the quality of Augment, it's truly terrific. I don't think it's far fetched to say that the self titled album is the Augment for the current member lineup

I agree 100%. As much as I love the self-titled, Augment will always be my favorite ERRA album.

Agree but you gotta appreciate that JT at least tries to change things up a bit more on the new album. He's def much improved from the previous two records he did with them.

@@xanthelinhs2143 Oh, for sure. I'm really not trying to drag him when I say that, either. I enjoy the new ERRA stuff, but I just can't listen to a lot of it at once. I respect that he's trying to improve, but it still just feels like he's in those low-mids more than he isn't.
