The Joker licked his scars with his tongue multiple times and a funny behind the scenes reason revealed it was because the makeup scars kept ungluing so Heath got in the habit of licking the sides to keep the makeup scars in place

Not a bad figure but I think InArt wins by a distance. Better sculpt, better rooted hair and much better tailoring. Hot Toys coat looks too big and thick again.

Agreed. The base is great, but the Inart figure appears to be the better overall figure. That being said, you can buy a single rooted figure from Hot Toys. Which means people who didn't have 1k to drop on the Inart version might buy this one.

If we compare prototype pictures of the Inart figure and this one, Inart STILL looks better. Way better

The marketing text accompanying the photos is pretty funny, like Howard's desperately trying to convince you, the customer, that his will be better than InArt's. I'm surprised he didn't include a blurb about how his Joker will stand better because it won't come with weird magnet placement.

Looks cool. I have InArts sculpted hair Joker so this is something I wont be getting but happy for those getting HT Joker. I agree the sculpt does look off. Doesnt look like Ledger. Probably is the expression, and in person maybe the likeness is more pronounce. Yes I am using it maybe the photos excuse 😁 I can def see this being $500 for rooted hair version. Two rooted hair sculpts? Yea that tracks. Actually its a pretty decent deal. I'm really beginning to believe WB are the ones preventing HTs from making a Nurse Joker and not HTs deciding not to do the fig imo. Will we ever know for sure? Who knows. Thanks for vid.

agreed, face sculpt is off... it's got to look like Heath underneath the facepaint, just ordered inart joker couple days ago... think ill stick with it

I own the Inart DK Joker (Rooted) and I agree with everything you stated. The Hot Toys version(prototype) is an inferior version compared to the Inart Heath Ledger Joker. The Hot Toys face sculpts aren't really doing it for me, especially the one with the tongue out, and the wool hair looks subpar to me.

Thing is, what we should be thinking, do they care only when there's something out there that threatens them? How are we supposed to take this.

I do not own any Joker figure so I'm able to be unbiased. Both hot toys and inart has pushed the envelope with their jokers. Thanks inart for kicking hot toys into gear. As for the figures - it's close. Prototypes are masterpieces. Inart looks like Heath Ledger as the Joker. Hot toys one looks like the Joker. Best way to explain it, I'm unable to pick a clear winner. However inart has dropped quality from the proto with hairline implementation, and face paint. If hot toys can keep prototype quality they can edge out the winner. But we all know they won't!

Looks great overall but I think the Inart one is a notch or two above. I feel HT should have given us something new with a Joker.

New sub here, and new to the hobby as well. I have been learning as much as I can via channels like yours, listening to podcasts and hitting up the forums to get “cultured” if you will. I want to say thank you for your insightful and informative videos. I am learning a lot through your content. Regarding this video; I had been debating on whether I should pull the trigger on the INART 2 pack, or wait for the HT’s release and I went ahead and purchased the 2 pack from INART. I feel the head sculpt from INART is ever so slightly better (that’s just my opinion). I don’t believe you can go wrong with either, but the selling point for me was the value. Having two figures and the jail celI is simply worth it to me! A lot of people say “why would you want two jokers?” My answer; because I absolutely love Heath Ledger's Joker, and I can display two different scenes 🙂 One thing I’d like to mention is that I’ve noticed a lot of negativity in the community of statue/figure collecting. I just don’t get it… we’re all in this to enjoy these beautiful pieces of art that bring back moments and memories of the characters and scenes we love! I’ve also noticed a lot of bias and brand loyalty; which is totally fine but there is no need to be toxic. At the end of the day we’re all collecting for the same reasons and feelings that these beautiful sculptures and figures give us!

This figure does look good, it is significantly better looking than their last Joker. That said, the InArt Joker is still better overall. I do think this will be a good option for those who miss out on the InArt Joker

Its kinda funny,without Inart this release would never have happened,and i think it speaks volumes about complacency,on the other hand its a win for competition and collectors,im glad this has happened though

This new version is much better than the Hot Toys previous ones. Just my opinion.

You’re so right about those early photos of Anakin hurting the figures image. I think this hot toys Joker has a great sculpt, but like you, I still think inart has the edge. If look at them both from a distance you can tell that inart was better at replicating heaths broader shapes and proportions in terms of his face and hair. But up close, I think Hot Toys did a better job with the little details. Theirs actually has skin texture and wrinkles molded into the sculpt. If you look at inarts, they kind of use the paint to cover up flatness in some areas of the sculpt.

I think the rooted hair HT is subpar compared to INART’s rooted two pack, but I would say that HT sculpted option is a better deal compared to INART’s offering. The sculpted hair cleans up the issues with the rooted hair. I prefer this head sculpt with the teeth. Looks awesome. I’ll be preordering the sculpted day one.

It’s not better than the Inart but If you didn’t want to be forced to buy a two pack and spend 1k plus it’s an cheaper option

Was able to acquire it. I'm very excited.

I guess it worked out that I didn’t buy an Inart version yet, haha! More options for me and those in similar situations.

The face looks bloated and he has too much hair. It's still good though but I prefer Inart. Also, he should have bad posture.

I’ve been holding out since INART annouced this. I knew hot toys would come around. Do I think it’s better than Inart? No. Do I care? No. Just happy to get this in the collection hopefully at a more competitive price than inart. But who knows we’ll see! Stoked though!

at this point its already redundant buying from MARVEL LEGENDS Hot Toys - coz with INaRT it took them just one take and nailed it - yah its pricey and i have the 2 pack but ML-HT took numerous attempt so this effort is kinda too late - good for other collectors now we have options but i am done with Joker with Inart

Inart’s clothing looks more weathered and realistic. I do like this sculpted hair however. I’m thinking the tongue has to be a magnetic attachment?

Just got my dark knight Batman and batpod ordered last week. This timing is fantastic. I’m grabbing him. Can’t afford the inart as easily as this

the tongue will just be a small magnetic insert methinks.

Can't begin to tell you how happy I was this Monday to see this badass figure that I have been waiting for hot toys to finally bring to the public needless to say I am definitely guaranteed doing my best to get my hands on the sculpted hair version or the rooted hair version whichever one I am able to pick up whenever they do the RSVP because this is going to be going out very fast and I believe what is going to separate it from the other company the price will be lower and the fact that this is not a two pack and it doesn't come with the jail cell about this is that people have options but let's be honest if it wasn't in art this figure wouldn't have come out

I believe the shotgun was the scene where he shot a traffic cop Wenham and his thugs were getting ready to get Harvey Dent from police protection when he was in the van

Still WAY worse than Inart joker. Not comparable to Inart what so ever.

Fase sculpt is a little off but it looks good inart is still the better joker but hot toys did good 👍

the only thing this has going for it is that its a more accurate hit me pose since his mouth is semi opened kinda like hes talking. Other than that inart blows everything else away no competition. Better value for money, better hair, more accurate face sculpt etc. Hot toys should have really done a joker with more expression like a laughing one so people would get that alongside inart.

The fabric looks too heavy as well. Heath was a slender guy, clothes should be tighter and coat should lay off the shoulders. Looks like the shoulder pads are too big?

So lets be honest. It's down to whether the InArt is gonna stnad up properly after 12 months +. If the answer is no, then this is going to be the preferred

Even though the inart one is better its still not worth that price. And I don't want to have to buy 2 jokers to get rooted
