This pistol is actually quite popular here in Brazil for a long time, because 380 is the most powerful caliber allowed for a semiautomatic pistol without a special license.

The reason why those exist because countries like Italy do not allow civilians to carry the same caliber (in this case, 9mm) handgun as the military.

And the G25 will fade as fast as the G42. Why? Just get a G19, change the barrel for a 380 one, switch the recoil spring for a G25 one, and away you go.

@@delanorrosey4730 Not that simple, the 25 is a blowback gun with a unique cut slide and barrel. The barrel and slide have no locking shoulder they're cut at a 45 degree angle, and the breech face is smaller. Uses a stock G19 spring though. Also uses 380 specific mags as well. Nowhere I've seen makes a 380 barrel for a G19, but you'd need a tuned spring, and still need the mags. Also this is a novelty collectors gun anyway, it's not actually intended for someone to buy in place of a 19 or something.

You can order a 380 barrel from Austria for any Glock. No one knows that but the option has been available for years. Just get a reduced recoil spring

I'm not a devout Glockian but the pragmatism of the Glock 19 is hard to argue with. A lower recoil version of the same gun would be a decent option despite the crazy high cost of the ammo.

Cheapest .380 I grabbed this year was 13$ for 50. Cheapest 9mm was 10 or 11$ for 50 (both brass). I just wish .380 was at least the same price as 9. Only .380 I have left is an LCP.

I think I'd like that. Pleasant recoil back on target really quick. I can afford 380, I'm retired and might only shoot 2 or 3 mags worth per range session, as I will want to also fire a couple other calibers the same visit.

@N7mudkip you're getting some excellent prices, wherever you are. I would be paying about 3 or 4 dollars more per box of either caliber. 🤔 I should probably buy a large bulk box of 380, or at least half a dozen 50 round boxes, if I get either the G25 or G28 and like it a lot.

@@eddyserrato5235 its not difficult, tedious more than anything, a lot of requirements, i spent at least $400 dollars for my permit to buy one, you are only allowed to own 1 pistol, 10 rifles if you do the permit through a shooting club, but if you do it for home defense you are only allowed to own 1 pistol, .22 up to .380 acp

@@eddyserrato5235 not hard but its a very tedious process, could be costly if you do it through a club, if you do it by yourself its maybe around $20 dollars lol, if you go through a club you can own 1 pistol, 10 rifles including shotguns and you can use it to practice and take it to the range, if you do it yourself you can only have it for home defense and are not allowed to take it out and practice not even to the range

If anyone is on the fence, Don't sleep on this pistol. Just got mine, shot it, and oooo wee. It's a great shooting gun with very easy recoil. More accurate than I can shoot.

A lot of people hate on Glocks, not me. I own several. That said, I like the Ruger Security 380 for its ez rack feature, and other features out of the box that make it superior IMHO. For deep concealment, I love my Glock 42, but for a firearm that’s easier to shoot accurately past self defense distances the Ruger is my option.

I've had mine since January and mags are now available online. If you are looking for a 380 EZ concept Glock, this is not it at all in mag loading and slide manipulation. The Glock loader sucks since the back of the magazine gap as missing. Get the maglula loader or equivalent. The recoil spring may not be exact weight as the 19 but it feels close to it.

Next endeavor, a miniature Glock in .32 ACP at least 8 but probably 10 in the mag, barrel between 3.5 to 4 inch, threaded, rised sights, optics ready, fixed barrel, some "ears on the slide for those with weak hands, or the same solution that S&W did, locked but a weak spring. And in some lighter colours than black/dark grey/dark green. Light sand, light grey, pale blue.

Maybe a setup like Peter Stahl's guns, 2 spring loaded extractors flat boltface, then a myriad of barrels, magazines and springs, and sell a lot of them, because PS guns are expensive. Maybe from .22 LR up to at least .380 30 SC including 9mm Makarov and 9x18. The .22 LR could be tricky to extract but someone may have a good idea.

In the 90s and 2000s in Peru they only allowed calibers of up to 380, this glock model was well sold but had problems in the bullet extractor, some people said that it was because the design was adapted from 9mm to 380. Currently they are allowed with restrictions up to .45 caliber.

For some people this is the perfect carry pistol. Some people I took to the range had weak hands & had several jams from limp-waisting. With a proper grip. We shot micro 9mm & micro 380s. Then I rented a larger 380 (S&W EZ 380) & had zero malfunctions. I think this pistol would be just as reliable because of the size & weight.

The mag loading process is harder than the G19 and 380 EZ due to that space they took out of the back of the G19 sized mag. If you get this for someone toss the maglula in there too.

@@lgwappo Yes this will be a bit more girthier than the Sheild/EZ but the size of this .380 soaks up the rounds making it a pleasant shoot. Loading the mags is the hardest part since they shrunk the follower and the gap of a g19 sized dimension mag.

As popular as the G19 is ,for those of slight stature it is a bit of a chore to carry, especially in the summertime. I wanted a G42 or 365 380 but being in CA it's no bueno. In a store one day the owner suggested a Sig P238. Small, light, well balanced. Then I dry-fired it. As a long time 1911 owner I instantly fell in love with the trigger. It's small but shoots fantastic. Very happy, for now. May trade the G19 for a 9mm 365, maybe.

Thanks for the review! I just purchased a G25 as well as a G28 to have in my collection. Will I carry them for defense? Probably not (I have a G42 for carry), but I will shoot the heck out of them. From a reloading standpoint, the 380 will be a little bit cheaper to reload as compaired to 9mm, probably 1/3 less. For me, they will be fun and economical centerfire guns to shoot.

Interesting, in Indonesia we have the bottle neck 7.65, which is a normal g17/19/43 etc with a converted barrel. Its due to our ammo restrictions for civilian carry. Essentially a .32

Both are great guns! The Walther is DA/SA, holds fewer rounds and is a bit smaller and lighter. The Glock shoots a bit softer, has a little better range and holds 6 more rounds. Pick your poison, you can’t go wrong.

.380 isn't the most powerful round but I sure as hell don't want to find out for myself. That said I would use this model for EDC. I've had a G19 for almost a decade, a gen 3, and have never had a malfunction with it. I've fired over a thousand rounds through it. I did replace the ejector soon after getting it cause the brass was hitting me in the face. Never had a feeding or ejection problem with it that I can recollect.

Another good choice. I still prefer the Ruger Security 380 for its ez rack feature as well as the fact that’s basically the G28 & G25 in one pistol. Additionally, fiber optic front sight so no real need for changing outside of optics or night sights

I have no doubt t that standard model 19 mags will work. when I owned a 17, magazines from every other double stack 9mm I owned work, they just didn't lock in - duck tape fixed that.

Some said they do work, I never tried them. G25 standard round count mags are starting to show up online in us stores. only seen the plus base plate oem on European sites.

Until you said that it was the Glock 19 size I was hoping you were going to say it was the Glock 48 Dimensions but in 380 acp would be pretty nice with a 20 round Factory mag!? The extra thickness of a Glock 19 seems just unnecessary....Hopefully they make what i described above!

YES! I believe that if Glock were to produce something like a Gen 5 43X or 48 in 380, they would sell millions!

Great video as usual. I just don’t know who this gun is for. Glock late to the game as usual with a market filled with better 380 ACP options such as the Ruger security 380. Or the S&W eZ. I don’t know who’s going to buy this thing it’s chunky oversized, and it has a difficult slide compared to the other options which would be much better suited towards women or the elderly.

I always wondered how a 380 will fire in a 9mm. Diameter is the same. Always thought it would be similar to 38-357. Might barely cycle if at all but in a pinch maybe lol

I actually like the idea these larger frame 380s coming to market lately, but this is basically a Glock 19 with a 380 barrel. This model was released in 1995 but it wasnt available in the US until recently. Glock could easily make a much slimmer 380 that held 12-15 rounds

Is it also easier to rack the slide? You mentioned it has a lighter recoil spring, so I would assume so? If so, this could be another significant benefit for some shooters.

No, it's 19 spring, nothing about this is EZ if that is the deciding factor over other guns. This was originally conceived before the EZ craze of 380 pistols. If you have a hard time loading mags, these are worse.

S&W EZ 9 and 380, Walther PDP 380 and CCP 380 or Ruger Security 380 all are intended for the low recoil, light slide thing

Noticed the Glock 25 lacks the right side slide lock/release of the 19. Is that specific to the earlier generation Glock 3, like the finger grooves and smaller mag release button?

I've actually always found it a bit odd that there weren't more "full sized" pistols in .380. It seems like the vast majority of guns in .380(at least here in the US) are small, highly concealable handguns(which makes sense, given that the smaller and lighter a gun is, the worse the recoil is going to be.) However, there's other reasons that people carry that caliber(most notably women, older people, and others with less strength in their hands, or who can't handle/don't like the recoil of a 9mm. So if they want a self/home defense gun, they'd be much better off with a larger gun that holds more ammo. The Sheild EZ from S&W is another great option(at least in my experience.)

Even for people, like in my case, who don't get to the range often. Easier to shoot accurately a lighter recoiling, lighter blasting compact sized pistol than not.

I threw my 25 slide onto my 28 frame and then decide if I want to use the smaller 28 magazines, or the 25 magazines with an X-grip sleeve. I think it even shoots softer with the longer slide on the shorter frame.
