He is giving the State of Connecticut soo much money in Taxes. Our roads love Out of Spec Dave.. lol.. Congratulations Dave.. now what will he get for Christmas.. ??
I am glad for him - but I lose count of how long he keeps his cars - it seems like every 6 months there is a new purchase. But once again - good for him.
I bought a 2023 C8 Corvette 2LT Torch Red with Performance Exhaust, 2.8s, it’s a track car!!!! for $80k. Little kids pointing and looking at it at pre school when I pick up my grandson, kids know where it’s at.
Hey Dave, congratulations. Taking bets on how long before you get tired of the Model X and want to buy something new.I get it, it is always fun and exciting to buy a new car.
Congratulations Dave and Kathy. I've had a 3, a Y, and now an X. I think you will be surprised at the improvements the X delivers. I love the smooth ride, the extra room, the charging speed, the amazing sound system, the extra screens, the falcon doors, the power front doors, the chilled seats, the extra space in the frunk and under the floor in the trunk, the tilting center screen, and the huge front window. And some things like the heat, the ac, the windows, and the door pillar cameras just seem to work better. I think you also get free FSD for three months. I don't know if free supercharging for three years is still offered. It is the best car I have ever had. I hope you feel the same.
Can't believe when I watched this video two months ago, I'd have an identical Ultra Red Model X Plaid today. Well, our car had the wheel but the prior owners replaced it with a yoke, which I prefer. We love our Plaid X!!
I’m a recent owner of my first Model 3 RWD and a recent subscriber! Your videos are great because of your passion for EVs, your practical advice & your wife is adorable & Bailey too. Also good content for Tesla & EV owners. I’ve been driving electric for 10 years! Congratulations on the red Model X Plaidington. Drive safe and enjoy it. I hope you keep this one for many years. Your video on your last minute trip to Saratoga Springs is one of my favorites. IfI lived in your area, I’d come to an EV meet up. Come visit the Pacific NW, tons of Teslas & EVs here.
We are all excited for you Dave, congrads and look forward to more content on the Model X Plaid! Funny I almost took delivery of a slightly used 2020 Model X red with white seats, but his car is on a whole new level!
My husband and I hemmed and hawed over white seats too. I REALLY wanted them and he didn’t. I WON! Now, he has NO regrets and we both love it! Tip: I did do a ceramic coating on all the white surfaces to protect the seats. Zero issues so far.
You remind me of the time I was waiting for my Model Y to be delivered- I'd check the inventory every day and even considered upgrading to Performance at some point - very relatable feeling
Congrats DAve & Kathy on your new Model X Plaid!! Funny enough, I saw your first video when talking about the plaid order conversion and day you purchased the model on Tesla floor.. OMG! The almost exact same thing happened to me this weekend I had my Model S into service in Carlisle PA and while there, this beauty of a Model X Ultra Red - White interior - Plaid - 20” - round wheel.. exact same configuration as yours.. (I wasn’t even recalling your video FATE just happened) as I was there talking with the service reps.. I was enamored by the Ultra red and white seeing it in person is so much different than video ( you do a good job however capturing its beauty on video) however I thought, wow I could drive this thing out of the showroom floor like now! Lo and behold almost the same thing occurred, where I mentioned what would it take for me to take this thing today and they said NEVER do they sell a show room floor model.. it was even VIN locked from Tesla as a display.. well 20 minutes later I was approached as I was looking at the other Teslas on the floor and said we can do that today if you want it no pressure. Of course it only took me another 20-30 minutes and AP hone call to the wife detailing what just happened and Voila! Cash in hand literally drive it out of the showroom after the team worked with Tesla SF to get the Vin unlocked, set it up as an order and then immediate delivery in person ha ha, it was glorious! 😮 So now I know exactly how you feel as I too was shopping for months waiting for an X refresh I told myself, but soon realized they just refreshed in 2021 so it will be another 5-8 yrs before any new big changes.. so yea great purchase - no buyers remorse what so ever and I and my wife love it! Can’t wait to see more videos with your X Plaid from both you and Kyle in the near future. I saved all 3 videos on the X for showing to friends as I still can’t believe how similar our story is. Also I’m in the process of coming up with a personal name as well and in the meantime named mine “Rudolph”.. Happy X-ing and enjoy the family rides moving forward - Back to the Future… 😊
Congrats on the X! Just so there is no confusion to someone looking to do a similar deal… You said it was 12K more than the original order. But add in Taxes, interest, AND the loss of the $7500 Federal incentive and it’s close to $22,000 MORE!
Congrats Dave. I had the same thing happen to me on a 2023 model S long range with everything I wanted in inventory with 100 miles on it. I know the feeling of getting a dream car! My first 2022 model S was side swiped after 2 weeks of ownership. Again congrats Dave.
Hey Dave, congratulations great choice. I know by now you already traded in your model 3, next time always check with CarMax or Carvana before you consider Tesla. I had a model 3 I wanted to sell and the difference between Tesla trade-in value and Carmax was $5000 bucks in my pocket. Love your videos keep them coming.
Congrats! So happy for you. Those Plaid models are really something else. On the 7th of November I took delivery of a brand new 2023 Chevy Bolt EV in Mosaic Black with the Jet Black interior. It took nearly a year for it to arrive and I still can't believe it's in my garage lol. Awesome video, Mr. Dave. 🚙 🇺🇸 🔌
I will be following you in hopes you will be VERY honest about everything ... the good ... the bad ... and the ugly. Hopefully, it will be the perfect car. Our 2020 Model Y has been flawless for 40K miles with the exception of a slight rattle when it was new that went away over time.
Well, we all knew something like this was coming, right? Or at least we should have figured that Dave would not have settled of the "base spec" car if he could get a deal on something better. Dave loves a deal! ;-) But I will be very, very interested in what Kathy thinks of the Model X noise level and ride quality at highway speed. I have recently test driven two different Model X Long Range demonstrators at my local Tesla store, one with 20" wheels and one with 22s. And I have also test driven a low-mileage used "Raven" model (same suspension as the new cars) with 20" wheels. All had much higher levels of road noise at highway speed that my 2015 Model S with coil springs, which I had always thought was too noisy. So, despite all the claims of how much "better" the noise is in the latest S/X cars, I found the X to be unacceptable. So I was very disappointed and am looking elsewhere. Maybe it won't bother you two, and I sincerely hope you enjoy your new car. But I will certainly hope for an honest report from Kathy, especially, on the X as a long-distance traveler....
Very exciting, I'm more tempted everyday to get one my self. You got the exact spec that I want. My daughter wants my Model Y. She just needs to offer me a little bit more for it.
